No boring old-fashioned history tour with a retired teacher but a walk through medieval Bruges with a passionate storyteller! We want you to get to know the highlights of both our history & heritage and everything there's to experience nowadays. You'll get to see the highlights you can't miss as well as some lesser-known spots. You'll be able to image how life was in the middle ages but we also load you up with recommendations for Bruges these days! Where to grab a delicious Belgian waffle. Which chocolate shops are the best for pralines. We'll share our restaurant recommendations based on your budget. And of course, we'll tell you where to get the finest Belgian beers (at a fair price). We'll cover about 3km. The tour is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible but do keep in mind that Bruges mainly has coble stone streets. This is a Free Walking Tour, which means you only pay a small online booking fee up front. At the end of the tour you can decide for yourself how much the experience is worth to you.

During this 2.5-hour workshop you’ll learn how to temper chocolate and, from it, craft 2 types of Belgian chocolates. Pralines: The most famous Belgian chocolate, consisting of a delicate chocolate shell with a creamy filing. You’ll learn how to make both the shell and the filling from scratch! Mendiants: Chocolate discs studded with dried fruits. Crispy and delicious! You’ll make at least 30 chocolates, which you can either eat on the spot or take home to family and friends. With our easy technique and chocolate theory, you’ll be able to make your own chocolates once you return home! NOTE: we take up to 20 participants per workshop due to the popularity of this activity, you work at 2 or 3 participants per chocolate machine . You will join me in my workshop in the heart of Old Bruges and learn to handmake your own sterling silver ring. During our time you will have hands on experience of forging, shaping and finishing your own silver ring. First you will choose which finger you would like the ring for, measure your silver and cut to size using a handsaw. Next you will choose from a wide selection of hand stamps to add a custom message onto the inside of the ring. This could be a name, date or your favourite beer! You will learn how to hammer the silver into a ring shape using mallets and a triblet. I will then heat and solder your ring while explaining the process of heating and joining silver together. Next I will show you how to add textures and markings to your ring. This is your unique ring and your time to really show your creative side! The last step will be to choose the finish and polish; this could be highly polished to add some sparkle, a satin finish or even a rough forged look to your ring. Finally you will have your own silver ring to keep, handmade by you in the Heart of Old Bruges, a fabulous and unique way to remember your trip to our magical city. Other things to note No previous experience of jewellery tools or working with silver is needed to enjoy the workshop and make a ring. We will use 925 sterling silver for your ring. You will taste 3 different kinds of Belgian beers and we provide some interesting background information about the beer. Out of these beers you will have to choose one that will be added to the waffle batter. 2) Belgian Brussels Waffle baking class: Afterwards everyone will get behind a cooking station (2 persons per station) and will learn how to make his/her own waffle batter with beer. We will take you step by step through the process of making the waffle batter. 3) Food pairing and tasting: In the end you can bake your own Brussels waffles and enjoy them with the according topping and the beer you chose in the beginning of the experience. You can bake/eat as much waffles as you want. During our workshop you will learn, discover, but especially have a lot of fun! Other things to note: We offer vegan, gluten-free and non alcoholic alternatives, please let us know in advance! It's a child-friendly activity so perfect for families too!

During this 90-minute workshop you’ll prepare traditional Brussels waffle batter (the Brussels type), cook it and decorate it with whipped cream, chocolate and seasonal fruits! (and much more toppings !) No previous cooking experience is necessary, and kids are welcome too. After a short introduction, we’ll go through the recipe, split into teams and start cooking. We provide everything you need: all ingredients, cooking gear, waffle irons, a demonstration, and assistance. Feel free to make the craziest topping combinations and take pictures! You will join me in my workshop in the heart of medieval Bruges to design and handcraft your own wedding rings. You will work together to create your own unique and special rings from start to finish. This is your opportunity to make something truly unique together in one of the most romantic cities in Europe. First you will choose the style and shape of your wedding rings. I will help to guide you to make the best decisions for your ring designs. Next you will add a custom message on the inside of your rings, marking the metal using handstamps. This could be a date, your names, initials, anything that you can think of to make your rings even more special. You will then learn to shape and form the rings using a hammer and mandrel. I will use a blow torch to join the metal, soldering your rings together. You will then start to perfect the shape and size of the rings before you clean, polish and file the surface. Preparing them for your final finish and design on the outside of the rings. Finally you will have a unique pair of wedding rings, handmade together, in Brugge.
