  • Matt’s place was conveniently located next to major attractions. The off-street parking was particularly helpful, since we stayed on a football Saturday, so street parking was limited. Matt was quick to respond to messages and was accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

WOW. There is no real way to describe the detail and architecture of this place. It was carriage home by millionaire’s row in the 1900s and is still a historic building in PGH. The architecture is truly amazing, not to mention the convenience today! You can walk to all the stadiums, casino, and countless bars, restaurants, and breweries! The T takes your right downtown for FREE and is less than a half mile walk.
Perfect for all travelers. So much character it is truly beautiful. We provide all the amenities you will need for your stay like Wifi, linens, towels, soaps, shampoos and more! We want you to feel at home. Your comfort is our mission

  • This is a beautiful space, and in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Very close to the bridge to get South of the river into downtown (if you are there on business!); but the neighborhood itself has nice cafes, restaurants, and a VERY COOL park next door--featuring the National Aviary! The apartment was clean, cozy, and great location. Matthew was also incredible responsive to my messages.

    Danielle2019-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, clean and roomy! Communication was very good. Check-in and check-out were easy. We'd definitely stay here again. Thanks Matthew!

  • Amazing location, outstanding residence, and convenient amenities nearby in all directions. A diamond in the rough, but not a rough area by any means. History, architecture, and such a great place to walk around. Do not pass this up!! Neighbors were nice and friendly!!!

    Nicholas2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a location!! Walking distance to the stadiums and some delicious local restaurants within a block or two- including coffee. We had a great stay and Matthew was extremely responsive if we had any questions. There are really nice pieces of abstract art all over the house and the house has all the basic needs. The front stair case is narrow and steep, but easily manageable. Would stay again! Love this city.

    Kelly2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! Awesome location, beautiful space, nicely decorated, all amenities I needed and very clean!! I highly recommend this place, I had a great experience with Matthew who was very accommodating, quick to respond and helpful!

  • Denis is a fantastic host with a beautiful bed and breakfast on the North Shore within easy walking distance to PNC Park and Heinz Field. Our room, the Balcony Room, was clean, comfortable and well appointed. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for lodging in Pittsburgh.

  • This place was outstanding. It was very clean and located within walking distance to PNC Park and Heinz Field. Dennis was able to accommodate us with a early check in which was unexpected but great. Dennis gave us a tour of the residedence as well as tips to places to eat and things to do. Whenever we had any questions Dennis was a text away with the answers we needed. This was our first time in Pittsburgh and it could not have been any more pleasing and fun. We will definitely be coming back again next summer.

    Nick2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly beautiful, elegant, historic design; great amenities; gracious and helpful host; nice location at Pittsburgh's North Shore--you can't go wrong here! Dennis was warm, communicative, and gave us local tips. We walked through the park to go to the Aviary (5 mins.) and the Warhol museum (18 mins). We walked further to Downtown but taking a cab/Uber/Lyft is also quite convenient. The entire place is magnificently restored from its historic glory. Room has good amenities, including a nice full bath, a fridge, microwave, TV, and fireplace, not to mention the nice touches here and there.

  • In the survey I put "residential" but it is on a great block with a few restaurants and bars. Perfect combination of quiet residential and entertaining city life. The bedroom I stayed in was really nice and the bed was particularly comfortable. I would recommend this place 100% and Jack is a great host.

    Dave2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time using Airbnb and I honestly didn't know what to expect. Jack was an incredible host, he went above and beyond to make us feel at welcomed and at home. His house is absolutely beautiful and the view from the rooftop deck was amazing, I now know why everyone talks about the view! The location of his house is in a very nice neighborhood and so convenient to the stadiums and downtown. I will be using Jack for future stays in Pittsburgh .

    Tammy2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a great host my friends and myself for the weekend! We arrived a little later than we had planned, but Jack was very understanding and accommodating with our arrival. He provided us with great information for things to do in Pittsburgh and checked in occasionally to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend Jack as a host for anyone looking to say Pittsburgh. P.S. - the roof top was the icing on the cake for this listing.

    Dan2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jack's place was great. He was very friendly and a great host. The neighborhood was very nice and close to the stadiums and north shore. This is a very nice and welcoming place to stay.

    Brian2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Jack while attending a conference at the Wyndham. Jack was very accommodating, and flexible with check-in/check-out times. During check-in, I got a tour of his very cool, historic home, including roof patio and basement with wall paintings from an earlier owner dating back to the early 20th century. The room was very comfortable, and complete with small fridge, dishes and sinks, and artwork of Pittsburgh. The location was very convenient to downtown Pittsburgh, with a ~10 minute walk to the subway station which is two (free) stops from downtown and runs quite frequently. There are good restaurants close by, along with a very large park. On my last evening in town, Jack kindly offered to take me to a nearby overlook to see the city at night. Overall, a very cool, comfortable place to stay convenient to downtown Pittsburgh.

    Emily2014-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jack's place was fantastic -- it's a great, interesting, conveniently located house, and was perfect for our needs. "Private room" doesn't really do the space justice as we had the whole floor pretty much to ourselves and Jack was sure to let us know about the other spaces in the home we could use if we wished, too. After the warmest of welcomes, we unfortunately didn't run into him again until we were heading out, but Jack also kindly offered a "mini-tour" of the area. Be sure to check out the rooftop deck; it's glorious. If we'd had more time, we'd have spent a good chunk of it up there with a bottle of wine.

    Jen2014-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jack welcomed us in and gave the full tour with some history on the building. He gave plenty of good recommendations for food and events. His place is gorgeous and the room was perfect. He even had some beverages and snacks in the room if we needed. The rooftop deck is especially magical. Anytime im in Pittsburgh in the future I will be here.

    Turner2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was, once again, a very courteous and gracious host. Unfortunately, because of unseasonably cold and wet Pittsburgh weather, some of our rooftop deck time and other sightseeing excursions will have to wait until next time. All in all, Jack, and the amenities continue to be our #1 choice for staying in the North Shore area.

The apartment is tasteful, clean and well appointed, the building is beautiful and I loved the feel of historic Manchester. The neighborhood is quiet and always felt safe. Communication with Fred and Vivian was quick and easy. Would definitely book again if I were coming back to Pittsburgh for an extended amount of time!

Martha Graham and Mary Cassatt were born here and Stephen Foster lived here when his dad was the Mayor of Allegheny City. This is centrally located to many of the Interstates. Walk to the Downtown Pittsburgh in 20 minutes.
  • Had a great stay, and would recommend to anyone who visits Pittsburgh. Jack runs this property like a real B&B: he greeted me personally on arrival, gave me a walk around the premises, detailed the history of the neighborhood and pointed out interesting landmarks, and stocked the room (I had the one on the second story facing the street) with coffee/tea/snacks. House was easy to access, and is convenient to the cultural attractions of the North Shore as well as downtown (where I spent much of my time).

  • Great place for people who want to enjoy the life of Pittsburgh. This is my second time here and the experience is still good. Jack is a friendly person who will introduce the city and surroundings carefully which will help a lot on traveling in the city. The room is cozy and clean, and the neighbors are quiet. It is also convenient to go to the downtown.

    Steve2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was nothing less than perfect on our weekend trip to Pittsburgh for the game. My father and I stayed in a room at jacks, and this being my fathers first time using Airbnb he was very skeptical. But Jack put that to rest right away with his amazing hospitality. The place is beautiful, the host is the most kind person you will ever meet, gives you a detailed history of the house, the area, and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. Safe to say my father and I will be coming back to jacks place next year for another perfect stay. Highly recommend to anyone who wants a friendly host who will go above and beyond for you.

    Jordan2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time at Jack’s beautiful home! The location was perfect and within walking distance of Pittsburgh’s many treasures. Jack goes above and beyond for his guests. We were warmly welcomed from the very start of our stay with a tour of the house (including the rooftop deck), a brief history lesson of the neighborhood, and extra amenities. Jack’s house is on the top of our list of places to stay for future Pittsburgh adventures.

  • Lots of room with plenty of sleeping spaces for a big group. Convenient access to downtown Pittsburgh — everything was within a 10 minute Uber. Excellent communication from Matthew, including offering to return an item we accidentally left behind.

  • This is a great apartment! Matt offered quick communication and was attentive when we had questions. This specific apartment sits on the 3rd floor so be ready to climb the stairs but it’s a beautiful space that can easily accommodate larger groups. The building was extremely quiet and the neighborhood is safe. You can easily access the city or catch an Uber/Lyft. The private parking is also a big bonus!!! This was a business trip and my coworker and I comfortably shared this space.

Beautiful 1500 sq ft loft apartment located in a old flashlight factory in the historic northside neighborhood. Walking distance to both the stadiums, night life, casino, and museums! Open floor plan with original hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. Artistic Interior design inspired by recycle and reuse materials. Huge state of the art kitchen. Beautiful bathroom with Italian marble and walk in shower. Complementary Prosecco and many other amenities included.
If you have ever wondered what loft living in a real warehouse would be like this is the space for you! Original hardwood floors and brick walls make the perfect backdrop for a recycled and reused esthetic. That topped with the owners creative vision to custom make the chandelier, the coffee table, and the unique sink and tub interpretation is a must see to believe.
Walking, walking, walking! If you love to walk to places without the hassle of parking a car this is the place. We choose this neighborhood for just that reason. We wanted to walk to restaurants, bars, and cultural events. Plus, the close proximity to downtown, which you can walk to, is a bonus to a beautiful, historic, neighborhood with a phenomenal park 2 blocks from the loft.

  • Clean, great location, spacious - highly recommmed. Only two people can sit comfortably in living room so maybe bring a chair or a bean bag? Not a deal breaker though, the place is great. I was sick and didn’t get to get out as much as I’d wanted.

    Maggie2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesomely cute house in a great location! Walkable to all north shore destinations including stadiums, bars, and restaurants. Hosts were extremely responsive to any inquiries I had. Absolutely recommend this place for your stay in Pittsburgh!

  • Skip and Cate's house was a fantastic place to stay while in Pittsburgh. The location was great and easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go. The house was cosy and had everything we needed. Parking was very easy.

  • Cate and Skip's place was everything they said it would be. Clean, good location, charming. It's city parking and very tight so be prepared.

    Amy2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great - it has everything you could need as a guest, and it’s in a nice location in Northside Pittsburgh. It was super clean and stocked up, there’s a washer/dryer, towels, extra blankets, a nice patio and deck. It’s a very vertical space - there’s three floors and it was a little bit challenging as a larger group to hang out/cook together on the bottom floor. Other than that, it was a great spot, the hosts were very communicative and helpful, and I would definitely stay again. Cheers!

    Lalana2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Skip and Cate's home is truly in a fantastic location from which to enjoy Pittsburgh. It is within walking distance, or a very short ride, to virtually everything. The neighborhood was wonderful and we enjoyed the thoughtful recommendations provided to find restaurants where we could eat like locals. The home was spotless, the check in was well communicated and we had no problems whatsoever. Our only recommendation to those with toddlers is to bring a baby gate. We were kept hopping trying to keep our little one from taking a tumble but our teen loved the gorgeous top floor, including the adorable balcony.

    Eileen2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Skip and Cate’s place was absolutely perfect for us. A group of four friends in town from NYC had an ideal stay here. We had everything we needed, and the location was so convenient to downtown, and to nearby places to eat in the evening. Would absolutely stay here again. :D

Welcome! We will be very glad to host you and your pups, and will do whatever we can to make your stay a great experience. A convenient half bath has been added on this level. 2nd floor: colorful media room with surround sound, short-throw projector for movies and online viewing on a 120 inch full-wall screen (sorry, we have no TV's). Also, there is a full hallway bathroom and 2nd floor laundry. 3rd Floor: bedroom with a full-size, bathroom with a shower, and large office. Located just across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh and a short walk up the hill from Heinz Field, this beautiful home is in 'Allegheny West', an Historic district full of beautiful homes and mansions, and is an up-and-coming restaurant and brew pub area.
  • Was in town for a game and stayed at Doug’s. His place was fantastic. Very nice and spacious, and prime location. Walking distance to Heinz field, the casino, and many restaurants and bars. I highly recommend staying with Doug. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Doug was a great host. He responded quickly to any queries and was very accommodating with our travel challenges. The location was great! We were in town for a conference and the location make getting to and from the convention center really easy. It’s always lovely to stay in a home and be able to relax at the end of a long day. Electric blankets on the bed made nightime cozy. The house is full of rich history which is always a pleasure to experience.

  • Lovely place in a perfect location to explore the city and get some great food. We would stay with Doug again in a heartbeat!

  • A gorgeous atmosphere to spend my trip in

    Catherine2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start by saying if you are reading this review to decide between this place and another. Go ahead and book your stay with Doug now. This was probably the most effortlessly beautiful stay we have ever had travelling. Doug is phenomenal. He takes great care to think of everything you might need and was even waiting for us with a smile when we arrived to check in. He accommodated far past what Air BnB offers or allows and is excellent with communication. His home is large and just a complete gem in the Pittsburgh area. We hardly drove, the home was so convenient to everything. Historical and made of real brick the home itself is just beautiful to look at itself. We enjoyed the house so much we didn't care to look for too many activities seeing as we were planning to already attend the Steeler's VS Raven's game. We walked down the street for deep dish pizza and down to the park area by the water across from Heinz Field. Aside from the game, we were content talking and playing board games inside at the large table in the dining area. From the heated blankets, to towels, water and even space heaters we did not want to leave. We arrived to a charming Christmas tree, beautiful original hardwood floors and lots of pretty art and hanging within the home. The windows to the street are just gorgeous . I'm an avid cook, but seeing as we drove from Atlanta, I did not cook this visit, but should I have needed to, Doug has a grand kitchen with utensils and tools. The bathrooms are bright and inviting, Doug even leaves a heater in each for you to utilize. The Projector room was awesome, we brought a firestick to connect and enjoyed using the big pretty screen. My boyfriend a very country bumpkin and huge sports fan, was even blown away with the homes charm. he fell in love so much so he would like to come back to Pittsburgh and has already stated "We are only booking with Doug" HA :) There was not a time we could not contact Doug, he even offered to arrive and give us his parking spot . Doug, thank you for being such a sweet person. You are a true treasure and blessing! Your home was a great part of our trip and added memories of a beautiful visit to Pittsburgh we will not forget! Your thoughtfulness and generosity is very much appreciated and we look forward to booking again with you soon! <3

  • Enchanted! One of my favorite Airbnb's to date. The place is spacious (private 3 story historical town house), has a theater room, a private patio yard in the back, and all the amenities to instantly feel at home in Pitsburgh. Note: street parking only (but street parking is close and easy). I hope to return soon, and stay for an extended time!

    Tobias2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Dougs place was amazing I love old buildings like that. I was there for a Steelers/Patriots game, GO STEELERS which they won 17-10. But anyway if you come to Pittsburgh for a game of any sort especially a Steelers game this place is perfect, it's clean, spacious and the location is the best part. If you come for a Steelers game you can see the stadium from the front stoop. Thanks again, Doug, I hope to stay there again in the future. Travis

Spacious yet cozy, the house is perfectly-sized for a couple, young family, groups of friends or individual travelers. Located in the Allegheny West Historic District, a Victorian era neighborhood listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this two-story brick building was constructed in 1895 as an electric shop. The entire space was newly renovated in a way that celebrates the historic character of the building but ties a thread through history to the present. The interior design inspiration is rooted elements of the building’s former industrial past and Danish modern. Outside, there’s a private patio accessed via a Spanish cedar Victorian era inspired shop door. Next to this area is free on-site parking. The kitchen: Counter peninsula with tall stools so guests can chat over breakfast, plus a small custom built white quartz top table and chairs. The living room: Snug and cozy with a comfortable couch and pillows for you to curl up in after a long day of exploring the city, work or catching up with friends and family. Slate gray integral concrete flooring softened with a Scandinavian inspired rug and a handy reclaimed black walnut and iron industrial inspired coffee table. Side bar with white polished quartz backsplash. Dimmable recess lighting provides lighting options to adjust to your mood throughout the day or night. Great natural light through the generous number of windows or shut out light with the adjustable blinds for total privacy. A 52” flat screen HD TV with Cable channels + Netflix offers your evening entertainment. The open plan space allows you to chat and socialize while you cook. The bathroom: Features a warm wood vanity, white subway tile, floor to top glass enclosed shower with adjustable head and hand unit and black ceramic hexagonal floor tile. Essential toiletries and towels provided. The bedroom: Warm and inviting European white oak floors welcome you to your bedroom where a super-comfortable Queen sized bed with piled high pillows awaits you. There’s a closet with an upper shelf at the end of the bed. Features privacy curtain that is retractable to separate the room, privacy blinds, a full length mirror, a full dresser and night stand. The laundry: Full washer and dryer with supplies, ironing table and steam iron. Flexible check-in/out

  • This is such a cozy, modern spot within a fun, historic neighborhood. The place is perfect for a couple or even 3-4 close friends. The space was immaculate and very comfortable. Greg was always available when we had questions and gave us a lot of great tips of places within walking distance to check out. It’s easy access to downtown and all the sports stadiums but the neighborhood was still very quiet. We walked to the Warhol Museum and it took about 20 minutes. We loved all the historic architecture in the neighborhood and the local watering holes with great food and drinks. The next time we visit Pittsburgh, we’d definitely try to book Greg’s place first!

  • Just Great! Greg is cool!

    Juan Diego2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Greg’s Electric Shop is the perfect spot to stay for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. The space is beautiful, the bed is extremely comfortable, and Greg went above and beyond to provide local suggestions and to check in to see how our stay was going. Having such a short walk to Heinz Field, combined with a parking spot right outside the door, made it a very convenient place to stay during our few days in town. Definitely recommend this place and will hope it is available the next time we are in town!

    Katie2018-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Greg's Electric Shop! The place is very stylish and well thought out. I would much rather stay in Greg's place over any hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find the complimentary wine when we arrived.

    Rick2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Super clean and stylish! Love the complimentary wine too! We had an issue with figuring out the heat, and Greg came right over to help and even stopped by again the next day with a space heater just in case! The location is perfect for game day as it’s just a quick walk down the street. I wish we could have stayed longer! If you are torn between here and anywhere else, book here hands down!

    Lytashia2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This place is beautiful, and the location is amazing, especially for Steelers games! Greg was awesome, helpful, and his home is superb; clean, comfortable, stylish. Will 100% recommend. Will try to stay there next time I go to a game, worth every dollar.

    Denisse2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • I loved, loved staying at Greg's! I was there for about three weeks and will stay again next time I am in town. The space is a beautiful renovation of an old electric shop. It is comfortable and modern with everything needed including a washer/dryer. I was in another part of the city most of the time but often walked to the neighborhood restaurants for late dinners. By chance I caught a fun poetry reading one night at the City Books store as I walked 'home' from dinner. Greg was helpful and quick to respond, a terrific host. Access to the other parts of the city is fast and easy. I HIGHLY recommend this space.

I HAVE 5 ROOMS IN TOTAL, INCLUDING THIS ONE. The links of the 4 other rooms are at the bottom of the, “The Space” section below. Copy the URL into your browser to see the listing. The Links are for Rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5. ROOM 1 - This room is in a Victorian Home. Blocks to Heinz Field, PNC park, Carnegie Science Center, Aviary, Rivers Casino, Mattress Factory, and Andy Warhol museum. One mile to downtown, Convention Center, Strip District, Theater Dist. , Station Square and Market Square.
Stay in this beautiful Victorian mansion filled with antiques. Rooms fully furnished with comfortable, lush bedding and towels. I provide a continental breakfast every morning. The coffee starts brewing at 8:00 am If you want coffe sooner, just hit the start button, it's already prepared. All rooms are very Clean, have the original hardwood floors, original crown molding, Wainscoting, some with fireplaces, some have original converted gas lamps. Again, all the bedding and towels are provided. Just bring yourself, suitcase and toiletries. I even have those if you forget them (Toiletries). I did run my house as a full service B&B with all the amenities of a full gourmet breakfast, daily room cleaning, nightly bed turn down (yes, the chocolate on your pillow) and a daily Happy Hour with wine, cheese and crackers. It was too much work for a single person even with employees. I needed to be available 24/7 for my guests. They like to talk to the owners and get that "resident Pittsburgher knowledge" for all the non-tourist trap and secret places to go. I stopped doing that for a couple years until I rediscovered Airbnb. It gave me the flexibility and time to myself. I still provide the best service to my guests, it's just that I don't have to spend as much time with every minute detail. The guest also receives the ambiance of a B&B without the extra services and price associated with it. I find this is an advantage since I'm not just renting rooms in my home. It's a beautiful home that I originally designed for a B&B. Some of the listings on Airbnb, are just extra rooms people have in their homes, they use them to make additional revenue. That's fine. I feel I have a little more to offer since my home is designed for a B&B and I have that experience to provide the best experience for my guests. The biggest advantage is my location. Location, location, location! I'm the closest Airbnb or Hotel to Heinz Field. I'm also centrally located to all areas and events in Pittsburgh. It's a great spot! This room is located on the 1st floor, the only bedroom on this floor, in the back of the house and facing the courtyard. It is very quiet during the day and night. A powder room is right next to this bedroom. There are some pros and cons with this room. PROS -------- Only bedroom on the first floor Powder room right next to room (no shower) In the back of the house, making it very quiet Private since it's the only bedroom Cost effective pricing, for the prime location Easy access to outside Steps to the rear courtyard Closest room to second floor kitchen Warm and cozy in winter. Cool in summer Close to emergency exits CONS -------- No shower in the bathroom next to the room. You may use the second or third floor bathrooms. The Third floor bathroom is right above, up 2 levels Using the stairs located next to the bedroom. There are no doors with deadbolt or knob locks. There is a hook lock on the one and only door in The room that's attached to 2 swinging doors. There are 2 doorways once you enter the room. One goes up the back staircase to the kitchen (in the kitchen is another staircase that goes to One of the bathrooms the guests in this room May use to shower. The other doorway goes to the No Air Conditioner Laundry room. There are no doors on these Doorways, only curtains. The rear first floor No TV Emergency exit is through the laundry room (good Point) The floors are not hardwood like the other bedrooms. The floors are linoleum. Other guests don't go into this room, primarily because they don't know about it. Other than the parlor on the first floor, most guests spend their time outside my house in Pittsburgh. When they are there, it's 98% in their room, 1% in the bathroom and 1% in the kitchen getting coffee and snacks in the morning. There is no need for them to be in this area of the house. So the room is actually very private. I had used my house as a B&B for 4 years, 2 years ago. I had many people stay in this room, one because it was very affordable and two, it was private, like having the entire first floor and easy access straight up to the kitchen for snacks. I'm the only one that may need access to the laundry room through this room. However, unless you're staying in the room 24/7, it would not impact you. ROOM 1 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15370037?s=51 ROOM 2 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/183298?s=51 ROOM 3 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14157821?s=51 ROOM 4 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14304582?s=51 ROOM 5 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14572449?s=51
The house is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Also known for the original millionaires of Pittsburgh. My home is 143 years old. The neighborhood has all Victorian and row homes built in the 1830's to 1900. Rich in history and culture. The neighborhood is quiet in the evening and very safe. There's a mixture of businesses, family homes, and apartments. The owner of the Steelers lives one block from my house. Art Rooney Sr. Lived in the neighborhood most of his adult life. I have a cat named Sam. He's a big old guy. 30 pounds and 15 years old. Sam is very friendly and welcomes all my guests when he's out of my room. I recently rescued a baby kitten that's 14 weeks old as of 10-20-16. He's very shy and doesn't go near people. Sam is allowed to roam freely throughout the house, so if you don't want Sam in your room, make sure to close the door. Please make sure NOT to leave doors to the outside open, Sam's an escape artist and will run out when he gets the chance. I'm sure the baby kitten will try the same, especially if he follows Sam. Both cats are indoor only cats. I usually don't let the kitten out of my room when I have many guests. He is a terror and gets into everything. The kittens name is Kingdom. He's getting bigger and smarter and sometimes will escape from my room. If you see him, please let me know. He has no problem venturing every floor in the house, but will run if he sees someone he doesn't know, which is everyone except me. Sam usually stays with me or flops down in one location unless he's getting attention from a guest. Sometimes Sam will take a particular liking to certain guests and follow them to their room. If allowed, he'd stay until they fall asleep, once he knows they're safe, go back down to my room. I do keep my door locked when it's bedtime and have both cats with me. Sam has fallen asleep with a few of my guests. Most recently a young girl. The father left the door ajar as he was sitting on the porch. The little girl remembered that I said Sam will usually leave the room once the guests fall asleep and he knows they're OK. She pretended to fall asleep, then she really did. Her dad found them both fast asleep when he went back to the room. He texted me asking if I was looking for Sam, I was. Sam heard him come in, got up from the bed and headed back to my room. They sleep in the room with me and know when it's bedtime, usually. For those that may have allergies, my house is all hardwood floors which I keep very clean. The cats have never bothered anyone with allergies. They may bother you if Sam decides to sleep with you.
  • HIGHLY recommend staying at Denise's place. From the check-in to check-out, everything was organized and accounted for. She is super friendly and gave great tips on things to do/see in Pittsburgh. Really cool house to stay in and she keeps it in mint condition.

  • This was our first trip to Pittsburgh and first time using Airb&b. Denise has a beautiful home and it was exactly as described. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and provided great tips about the city. I will be recommending Denise to our friends who frequent the city and we will definitely be back.

  • Excellent location in walking distance of many restaurants, the subway station, Heinz field, PNC park, and downtown Pittsburgh. Denise if very responsive and helpful. The house is very large and although there were other guests staying while I was there, I never saw or heard them. The room and half bath were clean and quiet. I would stay here again, especially considering the price.

  • You couldn't ask for a more gracious host than Denise. She took care of everything: from breakfast to travel directions to restaurant recommendations to my last-minute request to use her printer. And her home is just stunning: a lovely Victorian row house with a beautifully restored interior -- it's sumptuous and homey at the same time, and only a short walk from the train. I can't wait to travel back to Pittsburg just so I can stay again with Denise!

Newly renovated, this artfully-appointed and spacious two bedroom flat is located in one of Pittsburgh's most architecturally rich, historic, and centrally-located neighborhoods. Within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, Heinz Field, PNC Park, downtown, Stage AE, The Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory Museum, Allegheny General Hospital, Point State Park, The National Aviary, and more (all within a 5-10 min walk). Premium HD cable, WiFi, & Bluetooth speaker included.
Our spacious two-bedroom apartment is located in Allegheny West, on Pittsburgh's Northside. Officially the smallest neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Allegheny West is home to 19th century architecture characteristic of the gilded industrial era. Originally named Allegheny City, the neighborhood was considered the gold coast of the region, and stood among the wealthiest in the world before annexation by Pittsburgh in 1907. Built in the 1870s, our apartment is part of a historic row house district. Many of the original floor beams, as well as exposed brick, were preserved during the renovation. Ceilings were restored to their 12 foot height throughout the living room and kitchen, while lofted ceilings were constructed in the bedrooms. The neighborhood is home to a mix of eclectic small businesses and historic sites, including a local bookstore, bars, an excellent Thai restaurant, Peppi's legendary cheese steaks ("home of the RoethlisBurger"), the Jones Mansion, and the birthplace of writer and poet Gertrude Stein on Beech Street. Nearby is Allegheny Commons, a beautiful and tranquil city park. We hope you enjoy the setting as much as we do!
Metered parking is available directly in front of our building. Free guest permit parking available on street behind the apartment (we provide a guest parking permit free of charge). Our parking permit works great for Steelers game day, Pirates games, and stadium events (including concerts). We are located within a short distance of Heinz Field, so close that the parking lot across the street is used for fans and charges $45-65 to park on game day, making the free parking parking pass that is included in this rental a huge perk!
  • The place is great! Being an interior designer I really notice the layout, lighting, furniture and all the little details. It truly is as shown in the images and I'd love to stay there again. Very clean and neat and a great design! There is a giant park nearby and several restaurants down the street. Alissa and Jeb were very accommodating and made us feel at home! Have already recommended the space and would love to stay again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jeb & Alissa’s place. The location was superb and communication was great.

  • My husband and I stayed at Jeb and Alissa's for a couple of nights. The block is quiet, quaint, pretty and centrally located. The space, Kinfolk meets Anthropologie meets West Elm, is newly renovated. It is bright, spotless, modern and spacious with nice room proportions and restored historical details. The palette is elegant and hushed. The space is designed as a rental property so there is no clutter of personal belongings. The shower is generously sized, beds are comfy, linens are cotton, and the decoration is tasteful. The hosts, thoughtfully, include a tray with snacks and coffee. Parking is a breeze and the wi-fi is great. Jeb and Alissa are responsive and answer questions within minutes. They are completely professional. You couldn't ask for more. We give them our highest recommendation.

  • This place is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. The apartment was very comfortable and perfectly located by a park, the children's museum, National Aviary, and plenty of restaurants. We were able to put our daughter to bed and then one of us would walk to a restaurant for take out. Everything is updated and in perfect condition.

  • The location was perfect for me, my wife, and our 25 year old daughter. We attended the Pitt / NC State football game and was able to walk to Heinz Field in 15 minutes. Especially nice after the game when traffic was at a standstill! The apartment was better than the pictures, and I found the parking easy. After reading other reviews I was prepared for difficulty parking, but Jeb left clear instructions and the parking pass on the counter. No Problems at all. The place was clean, new, and really upscale. The TV had way more channels than we do at home in Raleigh. Also, the Google map arial does not accurately depict the upscale neighborhood. Very quiet and no sirens! We walked up Western at night and ate at the restaurants and felt safe. On Sunday, the park across the street had families and children playing. I strongly recommend the apartment for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. We will definitely be staying here again.

  • This lovely and historic apartment was a perfect place to stay while in Pittsburgh for a work conference. An easy walk to down town and a nice place to set up shop to get some work done, my colleague and I really enjoyed staying here. Jeb and Alissa were great and responsive hosts.

  • You will not be disappointed...this place is a gem! We loved our stay in this VERY stylish row house. Great communication and Jeb & Alissa were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back!!

  • Jeb & Alissa's place was gorgeous. It was spotlessly clean, amazing looking, charming with a definitely retro/modern feel to it. Checkin was super simple, parking was a dream, the neighborhood lovely with a nearby park to enjoy. It is close to any of the attractions we went too. I would definitely stay there again. I'd consider living there if it were an option. Jeb & Alissa were super helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend anyone staying in town to check out their place. Definitely five stars.

BARGAIN ROOM 3 - This is a 2 Bedroom Suite with a Kitchenette with Private bath. 2 rooms for the same price as my 1 Room with Private bath. A door adjoins both rooms and may be open or closed. The private bath is 30 feet from the room. Since the house is 143 years old originally with an outhouse, the indoor bathrooms called “water closets”, may be found in some of the strangest places in these homes. They weren’t built inside so retrofitting became a little tricky. Large and quiet. 3rd flr
Stay in my BEAUTIFUL Victorian mansion filled with lovely antiques remembered from your grandmothers or older neighbors homes. These Rooms are on the 3rd floor. The Rooms are fully and beautifully furnished with comfortable, bedding, linens, pillows, towels, hangers, tissue, facial cleaning wipes and mini shampoos, soap, and conditioner’s that you may have forgot to bring along. Each morning a continental breakfast is provided with a variety of items. I’m aware and conscientious of dietary constraints and allergies that people may have so I ask in advance what they may be and how I may accommodate for my guests when possible. The coffee starts brewing at 8:00 am and I have all items laid out for that days breakfast. If you want coffee sooner, just hit the start button to start the brewing since it's already prepared by me the night before and ready to go if someone gets up ahead of me. All rooms are Clean, have original hardwood floors, crown molding, Wainscoting, fireplaces, I even have some of the original gas lamps that were converted to electric. This room is located on the entire (what I call floor 3 1/2. There is a 3rd floor at the top of the 3rd flight of stairs, currently not in use. This suite is up another flight of stairs which consists of 6 steps to floor, 3 1/2). One Room in the Suite is ROOM 4, it’s in the front of the house and has a view of Mt. Washington and Downtown Pittsburgh (gorgeous!). Since you’re approximately 60 feet from the ground floor, it stays rather quiet even though the street gets busy at times during the day, events, Football and Baseball games. The other Room in the suite is called ROOM 3 and faces the back courtyard. Behind my house is an historic church that has one of the largest collections of Tiffany glass in the world. It's listed as an historical landmark and you may want to see if the doors are open. If not, walk around the grounds and check out the beautiful exterior that contains much detail, you’ll see more and more craftsmanship and architectural nuisance’s each time you look at it. I’ve lived here almost 8 years and every now and then, I’ll notice something I never saw before, it’s an amazing church. That in itself is an awesome experience. The Private bathroom is just down the hall on Floor 3 through the empty room. Approximately 20 feet from each door in the suite. Since there’s no one on the 3rd floor, it’s an entirely private 3 and 3 1/2 floors, the rooms are together oddly in this 143 year old house. It’s quiet during the day and night for a house in the city but the rooms are up high and the brick walls are thick. You will hear noise but it’s not like you would expect. This suite is great for Family’s, two couples, a few friends, etc. perfect to visit Pittsburgh and have an entire 3rd floor suite with its own bath and small kitchenette. As a reminder, I supply all bedding and towels. Just bring yourself, suitcase and toiletries. I even have toiletries if you forget them. I have a long list of amenities so don’t worry if you forget or need something. If all else fails, there’s a 7-11 diagonally from my house, approximately 60 yards on the opposite side of the street. I originally bought my house to run as a full service B&B with all the amenities of including gourmet breakfast, daily room cleaning, nightly bed turn down (yes, the chocolate on your pillow) and a daily Happy Hour with wine, cheese and crackers served in the parlor. I did open and run my full service B&B which turned out to be too much work for an older single woman. After a year, I decided to try the Airbnb model. I stayed at a couple before I booked my first guest. I’ve found that I have a place that’s in between your average B&B and an average Airbnb listing. The Airbnb concept is two fold: 1. Provide people with additional income renting those guest rooms that friends or family stay in every few years. 2. Provide a more affordable means of lodging. Airbnb ranges from things such as tents and treehouses priced around $15 a night in rural area’s all the way to beautiful 4 story Victorian mansions providing 95% of the amenities that 5 Star Hotels provide. So, although the business model is the same in each case, it provides a wide variety to Customers (guests) looking for something that fits their needs, budget and lifestyle. My guests are immediately immersed into the ambiance of a beautiful old Victorian era home and neighborhood with that historical value that only a 143 year old home may provide. The guests reap most of a B&B benefits without paying the price that other B&B’s in the cities charge. Many times less than 1/4 what people will pay in designated B&B’s, Hotels or Motels. It’s really good when you can get a 5 Star experience paying 2-3 star motel prices. The big advantage more than the historical beauty and service is the location. Location, location, location! That’s what is usually the most important thing. I'm the closest Airbnb, B&B, Motel or Hotel to Heinz Field. I'm also centrally located to all areas and events in the city of Pittsburgh. I’m only blocks from everything once you jump on the T (The Pittsburgh Light Rail) that’s a few blocks from my house, free and will take you within blocks to most city attractions, events and popular area’s. You’ll enjoy my home and in particular this suite if you have a need for 2 rooms. Just remember to bring things to drink and snacks that would normally need refrigeration but you can’t get that in most places you stay but with the kitchenette, you have that along with a microwave. The privacy, views and tranquility is what you’ll find with this suite in the city atmosphere. I HAVE A TOTAL OF 5 LISTINGS IN MY HOME: Links to the other 4 rooms are below. Copy and paste the URL to display the each listing.
  • Our stay with Denise was amazing! Denise is so friendly and welcoming and was always making sure we had everything we needed. She provided a huge list of ideas and events to keep us busy. Her knowledge of the area is very beneficial! The entire bed and breakfast was very clean and private. It is a very short walking distance to Heinz Field and just a short train ride to PPG Paints Arena. There are several places to eat, all within walking distance. I highly recommend staying with Denise!! We are looking forward to our next stay with her in Pittsburgh!

  • Denise’s house was a great choice for a weekend trip in Pittsburgh. Upon arrival she gave us the history of the house and neighborhood and showed us to our room. The bed was comfortable and although it was on the third floor and had just a window AC unit, the room stayed very comfortable even in late July! The bathroom was not a long but not a short walk from the room and was shared with one other room downstairs from us but we never even saw the other person so no problem there. The neighborhood was so lovely, we walked down the street and through the park each day of our stay. That being said, the best choice in my opinion is to park your car on the street which Denise recommended and leave it. Pittsburgh is a little difficult to navigate from what I saw but is a very walkable/bus friendly city. Overall our stay was perfect and I would certainly love to stay at Denise’s place again!

  • Denise is very sweet and hospitable and has a wealth of knowledge about Pittsburgh and her Northside neighborhood. As a bonus, she has one of the most beautiful and historic houses I've ever stayed in! The pictures do not do justice to her grand Victorian home. Original and historic features are everywhere, so unless you're the type of person that prefers a featureless box-room at the Motel 6 (no offense to Motel 6 - we stay there with our dogs!), you will find the house to be an attraction in and of itself. The room was beautiful and though the bathrooms were shared, they were multiple and spacious, which is not always the case in very old homes. The house has three active levels: a sitting parlor on the first level (you'd think you've traveled back in time), a mid level with the kitchen, an eating area and separate lounge for repose, including a TV, and the bedrooms at the top. Denise is very kind to supply many amenities, the basis for the bathroom and a great continental breakfast. She made the coffee - we didn't have to fumble around ourselves wondering where the filters are! The neighborhood is also historic and felt very safe. We arrived late and had no issue walking down the street to a nearby restaurant. There are a couple of restaurants and bars within two blocks, so you needn't venture far. We loved our stay and regret it wasn't longer. Thanks, Denise! Oh, bonus: a short walk to PNC Park to watch the Pirates. And if the Steelers are your thing, the walk is even shorter.

  • Wonderful host, place impeccably clean with lots of charm. Denise thought of everything -- even laid out a travel journal for us in case we wanted to record our memories. Great location, just a quick walk down to river/stadiums/museums. Highly recommend!

  • We had a great time. The host is extremely friendly and communicative. The house is within walking distance from the city center and the stadium.

  • Had a great time staying at Denises, the house was beautiful! The house was super clean and Denise was more than willing to give suggestions or direction information. Denise also had bagels and coffee available in the AM, and water bottles available. Will definitely stay again next time in Pittsburgh. House was only 10 minutes away from everything! Great location.

  • Denise was a wonderful hostess. While we weren't able to interact much during our brief stay, we thoroughly appreciated her tips on local food, cleanliness of the accommodations and friendliness. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially if you want to be close to Heinz field...can't beat a short walk!

Beautiful 1500 sq ft loft apartment. Located in historic north side. Minutes from both the stadiums, night life, casino, and museums! Best suited for 2 but can accommodate 4. Open floor plan. Hard wood floors. Exposed brick. Huge state of the art kitchen. Beautifully executed bathroom with a walk in shower and massive soaking tub. If the bathtub isn't enough for you there is a hot tub located in the light well 1 floor down from the loft. Complementary robes for your use while staying with us.
  • Spectacular! So, I'm a local and I've been waiting (im)patiently for this space to become available for rental, and when it did I JUMPED! The details in this space are out of this world. Elaine has such impeccably eclectic taste and it could take you days to really take in all of the art and details. You can really get an experience when you stay here. It's just so incredibly beautiful, interesting and unique. It was everything I wanted it to be and more! The open layout is a dream, the natural light un-ending, and the warmth and comfort is spot on. Elaine's space is also super close to everything you could want in Pittsburgh. Within walking distance are awesome restaurants, the stadiums, museums and the neighborhood of the North Side is a true gem in itself. Right across any bridge into the city opens you up to such culture-rich experience as well. Also--Elaine and her husband Mitchell were very quick to respond and so courteous with welcoming us into the space, having a bottle of Prosecco chilling for us as well as a guide to what was going on locally during the time we were staying. We didn't get a chance to take a dip in the hot tub but it looked wonderful and the outdoor patio/courtyard, which is private due to being closed in by all of the sides of the building. I am an Airbnb junkie and I simply CANNOT recommend this space enough!!

  • We loved everything about Clayton's home (and Clayton!)!! I wrote a very long review but my browser refreshed. I'll give you the sort of short and sweet version: the house was huge. We had 6 people and room to spare! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and utensils--as were the bathrooms! We had need of nothing while we were there. If you're on the fence about booking this place, go ahead and jump down and click "request to book!" It's downtown ( in the best of ways) and incredibly safe area (newly gentrified). This place is near enough to transit options that there is always someone wandering by, which helps keep it safe! The house is in wonderful condition & perfect location. I lived in Pittsburgh for a few months and this house is in the best area to see the whole city-- close to all the great places! And you won't find a better host than Clayton! Seriously! Why are you still reading this? Go book this house if you're lucky enough to see an opening when you want to travel! You won't regret it.

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and will definitely not be our last. Clayton is the perfect host. He couldn't do enough to help make our stay very special. From his recommended tips regarding local restaurants/neighborhood to having everything in place at his home - we couldn't have asked for more. His immaculate home is in one of Pittsburgh's most historic neighborhoods and is something really special. A real throwback to a more elegant and gracious lifestyle. Incredibly convenient to all major venues/attractions in town. Every detail was well thought out and provided for. The expresso machine and well stocked tea chest were a very big hit with our group. Three large bedrooms - two with fireplaces - hot tub, a formal living room, a TV/den and a formal dining room all added up to a wonderful experience with plenty of room to spare. Graceful, yet not pretentious - a livable feast of comfort and convenience. If the weather would have cooperated more there is an additional outside seating area/garden. We wouldn't hesitate to return next time we're in the 'Burgh. Thanks Clayton, for a very memorable experience.

  • What an exceptional experience! The house is positively delightful, the location is fantastic, the price reasonable, and the house rules fair and none too strict. Claymont left the kitchen fairly well provisioned, and he's quite the likeable fellow. An awesome Pittsburgh listing!

  • Overall this is a great place! It’s comfortable, in a great location, and it has great parking! Matthew was easy to deal with and very responsive throughout the process. The only thing that would have made our stay better was if the Steelers won the game we came to see! (Don’t worry, we won’t hold that against you, Matthew!)

    Brendan2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Matthew's house. It’s a 2nd floor apartment located in a building with two others, but was nice and quiet, located on a quiet street in downtown Pittsburgh. The area is great, and we had a fun time exploring the city around the house. There are three churches within 3-4 blocks of the location that were all built in the late 1800’s; beautiful buildings! We also got some fantastic pizza from Giorgio’s Place (5 minute walk). A note for families: the living area is on the main level, and the bathroom and all bedrooms are on the next. The stairs are carpeted. To access the apartment, the front entrance has an unlit stairway (gets a bit dark in the evening!), but there’s also a side entrance, though the side door only opens from the inside, and be careful on the stairs! They are quite steep, and slippery when it rains. All in all, the place was a great find, and we recommend it heartily!

  • This is just a great place to stay in town for in town events. Dennis was very accommodating with our quick trip and we enjoyed a great concert with no worries about a drive home. The bed was super comfy and the room was nice and warm. Dennis has done an excellent job with everything!! We topped everything off with a walk in the park before heading home.

  • What a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a Steelers game and we walked to and from the stadium which saved money on an Uber. You are local to everything and the area is so cute. The snacks and coffee/tea that’s always available is wonderful and so useful! I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

I HAVE 5 ROOMS IN TOTAL, INCLUDING THIS ONE. The links of the 4 other rooms are at the bottom of the, “The Space” section below. Copy the URL into your browser to see the listing. The Links are for Rooms 1, 3, 4 and 5. ROOM 2. This room is in a Victorian Home. Blocks to Heinz Field, PNC park, Carnegie Science Center, Aviary, Rivers Casino, Mattress Factory, and Andy Warhol museum. One mile to downtown, Convention Center, Strip District, Theater Dist. , Station Square and Market Square.
Stay in this beautiful Victorian mansion filled with antiques. Rooms fully furnished with comfortable, lush bedding and towels. I provide a continental breakfast every morning. The coffee starts brewing at 8:00 am. If you want coffe sooner, just hit the start button, it's already prepared. All rooms are very Clean, have the original hardwood floors, original crown molding, Wainscoting, fireplaces, some have original converted gas lamps This room is located on the 2nd floor facing the back courtyard and is very quiet during the day and night. Behind my house is an historic church that has one of the largest collections of Tiffany glass in the world. It's an historical landmark and you may want to see if the doors are open when you visit. If not, just take a walk around it. Again, I supply all the bedding and towels. Just bring yourself, suitcase and toiletries. I even have those if you forget them (toiletries). This room shares a bath with one other room. It's a beautiful home that I ordinarily designed for a B&B. Some of the listings on Airbnb are extra rooms in peoples homes that they use to make additional revenue.
I rescued a baby kitten in October of 2016. His name is Kingdom, he’s very shy, and takes his time getting close to people. If you don’t prefer cats, he won’t bother you. If he does come close which only occurs with coaxing, any quick movement will frighten him. If he lets you pet him, he sometimes nibbles on your fingers or hand when he gets excited (he doesn’t bite hard) Just tell him NO biting, he understands. He never scratches. On an aggression scale of 1-10, 1 being most gentle, he’s a 0. If I had to use one word to describe him, it would be sweet. Please do NOT leave any doors to the outside open, he’s not an outdoor cat and most certainly would run into the street. He has no problem venturing every floor in the house, but will run most times, if he sees someone he doesn't know, which is everyone except me. I keep my door locked at bedtime and he sleeps with me. For those that may have allergies, my floors are all hardwood which are kept very clean. Kingdom has never bothered anyone with allergies.

  • For our first Airbnb, Denise has set the bar above and beyond what I expected for this service! She was a wonderful host who made sure you were safe, secure and comfortable! She fulfilled us with great stories and local tips that we're very helpful! This location is thee best for if you want to be near all the sporting venues on North Shore or even if you want to be close to downtown, it's right there! Free parking, one block away too! I HIGHLY recommend this Airbnb and will continue to book nights with Denise and her outstanding service! Thank you for everything!!!

  • We have a pleasant stay in Denise's house. The whole house is very clean with beautiful decuration. We love the house and hope to come back again. Every morning, we had coffee and different breakfast. And Denise is a very nice person. She gave help for getting people to know the city. We had a wonderful memory for living in Pittsburgh.

  • Staying at Denise’s place is amazing its location to everything in town with easy access to events and her knowledge about anything you need to know or do in the burg Denise communicates well prior to and during our booking process She has coffee and assortment of foods available for breakfast. We stayed for five nights bedding is more than adequate and love the antiques around the home . If you ever need place to stay this can’t be beat and much nicer than the hotel accommodations in Pittsburgh Can’t wait to stay again if and when we return to Pittsburgh There are many great restaurants on the same street and within walking distance and If you have a car free parking is available

  • Denise, your home is beautiful and located exactly where we needed it to be. We were able to walk to Heinz Stadium for the Steelers game. Walk to the downtown core or take the tram for free to The Market Square. Walk to the best restaurants and walk to various historical sites of Pittsburgh. Thanks again for your hospitality and opening your home to us.

  • Denise is an amazing host, she went above and beyond to accommodate us and to make us feel at home. Her house is a real gem in Pittsburgh's historic Northside. it is a great Victorian home that has been restored to the smallest detail. Entering the grand salon makes you feel like you traveled back in time. So much old-world charme, it is absolutely lovely. The house is also close to a number of shops, restaurants, public transport, and attractions, which was very convenient for walking around and exploring the city. Thank you Denise!

    Kathrin2016-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the room on the top floor and we were not disappointed! Large room with en-suite bathroom (with a view to die for) that does not feel at all like being in a shared place. 100% privacy and excellent cleanliness. Denise's house is really charming and she is an unparalleled host. Let her give you all the info you need on the beautiful city of Pittsburgh! You rarely if ever see other guests. Breakfast (at last, a real B&B!) is very nice and ready every morning when you wake up. The location is close to the stadiums and on a street with many food options. Slightly away from the city center, which can be reached with a short car drive or, if you have time and the weather allows, via an excellent and free public transportation system. Excellent proximity to the Stadiums, if you are in town for that. There is no elevator in the house and to get to the last floor you have to climb some stairs. Not a problem for anybody in normal health, but this would not be the ideal place for somebody with some degree of walking/motor impairment and luggage. Highly recommended!

    Emanuele2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. Clean, close to all the best places, close to the free train service to downtown Pittsburgh, and a block from some great pubs. Her breakfast is laid out nicely every morning. Her muffins are the best. Definitely recommend staying here for any event in downtown Pittsburgh.
