  • The photos give a very good idea of what to expect, but I think the space is even nicer in reality! It has everything you need for a short stay and was very clean and well presented. Beth was very flexible with our check-in arrangements and was very quick to respond to messages. We couldn't have asked for more.

  • The annex was clean and well appointed with a welcoming feel. Beth had left a jug of squash in the fridge which was lovely given the heat when I visited. She is a lovely host. I could not fault her annex which would be my top choice if I am ever in the area again. 10/10

  • Sally was a superb host, she kept in contact before our stay and during. She kept us up to date with the WiFi being installed before our arrival which was great, the place was so much better than we could have anticipated and everything was in perfect working order. I couldn’t recommend this accommodation highly enough. Thanks again for a great weekend.

Just 2 miles from M4 Junction 23a. Ideal for Newport, Cardiff and Bristol. A well presented self-contained living space offering a private entrance, along with private kitchen, living room, bathroom, double bedroom and single bedroom. Located in rural Monmouthshire and adjacent to Severnside Bicycle Routes. Close to Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and Celtic Manor golf resort. Easy access to Bristol and Cardiff. One double bed and one single bed. Additionally a travel cot is available.
Suitable for those that require disabled access, offering ramped access from the outside and accessible wet-room. Although close enough to the M4 to be on your way to Bristol, Newport or Cardiff in 5 minutes, the Annex is situated on a rural lane giving access to bicycle routes across the Severnside plains to the edge of the River Severn. The Magor Marsh Wildlife Reserve is just 1.5 miles away and RSPB Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve is just 20 minutes away. The Annex is set up as an ideal space for a couple to spend a relaxing holiday. But as there is also the room to accommodate family groups comfortably for shorter breaks we have provided (in addition to the main double bed), a single bed in a separate room off the main double bedroom. We have included a floor plan in the listing to help you visualize how the space will best work for you and your group. We will clarify with you after you book exactly what is best for your group and will make arrangements accordingly. A small extra charge may be made for the extra laundry related to extra bedding but that can be handled through the AirBNB platform very simply.
  • A well appointed accommodation with very attentive hosts providing great communication, within 2 miles of M4

  • We stayed at Simon and Nicola's for two weeks in November. The accommodation was excellent and had everything we required. We live in Canada but are originally from Newport and were over visiting family and celebrating a special birthdays. We went away for a few days during our stay and on our return the bedding had been changed and new towels provided. Our hosts were very obliging and the village of Undy has a great British pub and village atmosphere that made our stay very relaxing. We would recommend staying here and hope to repeat our stay next year.

    Lynda2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great little home from home so handy for the M4 and rail links to Cardiff/Bristol, thanks again for a great stay...

  • Simon and Nicola are super hosts. They left us very much to our own devices which was great. The annex is very spacious and very clean. You will find all you need here and all at such an amazing price. Book now, you won't regret it.

    Hannah2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The annexe was very clean and comfortable. Simon asked us if there was anything we would like him to leave us for breakfast and it was all there on our arrival. We felt very welcome and completely enjoyed our stay. Will definitely book again if in the area.

  • Lovely space, clean comfortable and roomy. A home from home.

    Sian2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were so comfortable in this apartment - and it's perfectly located! I took the little bedroom while my friend had the main bedroom. Yes, it was close living, but we still had our own space and a door for privacy. Don't think twice if you're traveling with a friend! They even offered to do some washing for us, which we appreciated. Nicola and Simon are just next door if you need anything, and it's wonderfully quiet at night. And so clean!!

  • Mandy's home is a perfect place to stay just over the Welsh border 10 mins to the M4. Magor is lovely, and Mandy's warm welcome and guided tour of our room and facilities were perfect. Mandy offered us to join her in the living room to watch strictly, or to stay in our room, whichever suited us. However as soon as we sat on the bed the mattress, a wave of tiredness came over me, and the surroundings were so comfortable, and I felt very chilled in someone's home. Don't think I even saw the end of strictly. A great nights sleep, and a fantastic host. I intend to stay again the next time I go to Wales.

    Michelle2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy made me feel most welcome. The bedroom is airy and light, and the bed super-comfortable. The bathroom was superb. Everything was clean and the house is beautifully decorated. The well-stocked fridge/parlour area was a most welcome touch. Mandy was very friendly and helpful. The house is located 200 yards from the centre of a wonderful village, with all one could need nearby. All communications were immediate and spot on. All in all a great experience and highly recommended.

    Laurence2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy’s place was so lovely. Both her and Archer the dog were so welcoming! The space was clean, and family friendly. Although the bathroom is technically ‘shared’ with the household, it felt like a private bathroom just for us. We felt very comfortable during our entire stay. Great location for access to the highway for both Cardiff and Bristol. Would definitely stay again!

    Ashley2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute 5 plus. Charming house, comfortable beds, there was milk, tea/ coffe juice and cookies for breakfast. The shower room was just great. Mandy gave us some useful tips of what to visit. She was really kind and wellcoming. Thank you Mandy, we had a great stay!

    Marina2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Mandy's place for nearly a week, and would thoroughly recommend it. She was a warm, caring hostess and although she asked several times if there was anything else I needed, there never was, because everything was perfect. A warm, cosy bed, very welcome drinks and biscuits, an amazing shower! A beautiful home, a few minutes from the square in Magor, and just really comfy and welcoming.

    Gloria2019-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy was a superb host, from the minute we met with her she made us feel welcome. Mandy accommodated my niece to the best she could. The room was spotlessly clean fresh bedding clean towels. Everything was to hand and we really liked the little touches, milk and orange juice in the fridge, biscuits and fruit was amazing. The shower room was incredible and private very clean. I would recommend this home to anyone, Mandy was a pleasure to meet and we would like to thankyou for accommodating us. Danielle, kelwyn and Andi xx

We felt very well in their house. Like at home. We've arrived very late and Lucy wait for us with a big smile. Just a perfect moment with Lucy, Gareth and their family! Thank you for everything.

  • I was made to feel very welcome and it was an ideal location for my car and trailer as I was doing the Caerwent Rally. I needed some where close to my destination and a quick over nighter. as I had an early start. They left me breakfast facilities so I could help myself. Brilliant!

    Andrew2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here. I can understand why people are a bit funny about the entrance procedure but it is in the description and you definitely won't have to wait longer than 10 minutes to get it. The place is lovely and the shower has great water pressure (pretty much how I judge a place). The location is fantastic - right opposite the tram station. Definitely going to be back! Thanks, Lucy.

  • Lovely cosy room in which my boyfriend and I stayed for 1 night. We felt very welcome and had tea coffee facilities in the room which is seperate to the main house. There are lovely friendly animals on the premesis and a forest out the back which we went for a morning walk in. Located near a small village called Caerwent and Gareth suggested for us to go to Tintern abbey which we would`ve completely missed otherwise. Overall great experience and would definitely stay again :)

    Caerwent, Royaume-Uni

Detached bungalow recently renovated to a high standard in the village of Llanvaches, near Newport / Chepstow. Close to world class golf courses at St Pierre and The Celtic Manor (2010 Ryder Cup), the Wye Valley with its stunning views and walks, and Caerleon / Caerwent with its ancient roman garrisons. Newport's business centre is within easy access, as is Cardiff by rail or motor. Our local restaurant is only a 500m walk down the country lane and there are a variety of traditional pubs nearby.
The Sheiling is largely dedicated to airbnb guests, with the hosts living nearby in the same village. It offers a relaxing rural experience with the conveniences of modern amenities and easy access to the all the attractions of the surrounding area.
Llanvaches is located roughly midway between the market town of Chepstow and the city of Newport. The village lies just north of the A48 road and below Wentwood Forest, with both Newport centre and Chepstow about 7 miles distant. The village is named after Saint Maches who according to tradition lived a humble life as a shepherdess in the 5th century but was killed by robbers stealing her finest ram. Saint Tathan, Abbot of nearby Caerwent, to whom the murderers confessed their crime, built a church on the spot where she was killed, which later became known as Llanfaches. The parish church largely dates from the 14th century and is dedicated to Saint Dubricius, with Bishops Transcripts dating back to 1725. In 2006 a hoard of 599 silver denarii, hidden in a locally made cooking pot, was found at Llanvaches by a metal detectorist. The coins, which are dated to about AD 160, are now held at the National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon.
  • The property is in a lovely village and finished to the highest standard throughout. Jane and Rob have thought of every detail and catered for all of them. Whether you want you coffee from a cafetiere or a machine, warmed milk or frothed they have the utensils already there for you. The hot tub is gorgeous and makes the most of the beautiful scenery, perfect after a long day's walk. As for the hosts, Jane and Rob are superb! Friendly and thoughtful they made time to show us how everything worked and even had fresh bread prepared, leaving a lovely smell through the house. An excellent experience, I can't wait to visit again.

    Tom2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful break at Jane and Rob’s bungalow. Check-in was seamless and upon arrival there was fresh baked bread, butter, jam, Prosecco and beer in the fridge. In addition to this there was tea, coffee milk and sugar available. The bungalow had everything you could possibly need plus more and was spotlessly clean. The location is perfect for those wanting a quiet relaxing break and has lovely views over the countryside. Wentwood Forest is close by for those who want to walk/cycle and it’s not too far from Ross on Wye. I would highly recommend you book this bungalow, you will not be disappointed.

  • Could not fault anything with our stay. Hospitality, location and accomodation was impeccable. There are extensive quantities of utensils and toiletries provided, including multiple clean towels per person. All the rooms were stylish, clean and spacious and provided everything we could have wanted for a long weekend break. Welcoming letter and folder was beyond useful including tourist walks, views, attractions and even assistance and instructions for kitchen and household appliances. Up to date technology including smart television, speakers, underfloor bathroom heating, kitchen appliances including coffee machines, brand new oven, hob, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. Not to mention the wonderful hot tub that helped us enjoy the surrounding views even more. Jane and Rob could not have helped make our stay feel any more special with their warm welcome and willingness to accommodate and assist with all questions, queries and requests. Rob has incredible local knowledge and was able to help with directions, must see visits and even local takeaways. Could not recommend The Sheiling enough to anybody and I look forward to visiting again!

This lovely 14' yurt is in an enclosed garden with its own shower cabin and veg/herb beds. Porch for coats & boots. Inside yurt: Twin or double bed, table & 2 chairs, tea making, microwave/grill, log burner, wifi,. Insulated, and bedecked with hessian & fairy lights. Outside: BBQ, decking, seating, awning with solar night lights, enclosed kitchen garden. Shower cabin: shower, flush loo, sink, heated towel rail & hot/cold water. A quiet & cosy haven, with easy access to countryside & towns.
COMFORTABLE, COSY, CONVENIENT. This is what we want for our own holidays so we have lovingly made this yurt into a place where you can escape, woken by birdsong and sit under the stars...but with the ease of simple cooking facilities, a shower and flush loo, proper chairs & table, wifi, and even the option of arriving to a lit fire, ready-made bed(s), and a light meal! You will find welcome portions of soap/shampoo and tea/coffee/milk. We will provide all bedding and towels, and could get your groceries in advance - very handy for those coming by public transport or pedal-power. You can help yourselves to the fresh herbs and vegetables in the raised beds of your private garden. The yurt is in the extended garden of the home of Ruth & Graham Waddington, where we live with two teenagers and two cats. We also run Native Breeds Charcuterie (www.nativebreeds.co.uk) so can supply selection boxes of ready-to-eat cured & cooked meats.
Vinegar Hill is a winding old lane on the outer reaches of two old villages that have blended together - Undy and Magor. The area stretches down to the flood plains of the River Severn about 3 miles away, and you can stroll along its grass banks while admiring the elegance of two suspension bridges over the river. From Vinegar Hill, you can wander through rolling fields and deciduous woodland. Walk or cycle to our local nature reserves, woodlands and villages, with their pubs, shops, and churches. This region thrived during Roman times so there is much history to explore a 10-minute drive away at Caldicot Castle or among the exposed settlement ruins of Caerwent. Around 25 miles away are the ancient natural glories of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean...or the sights & shops of Cardiff and Bristol.
