  • The place is awesome, minimalist and very quiet. Around them there is a lot of peace, she was very nice considering my check in and check out. And not far as I think from the Amsterdam centre. Completely recommended.

  • Far from city center, but easy to come with public transport. Fare price, comfortable room :)

This bedroom is located on the ground floor of our houseboat with fantastic views over the water. We live in the city, but also nationally. Within walking distance from the NDSM WHARF, good restaurants, a supermarket and just 15 minutes to city center by free Ferry.
A place in the city and still enjoy the outdoors, this is what we offer. Our houseboat lies in upcoming / hot Amsterdam North close to the NDSM shipyard. The room is located on the quiet water side with stunning views over the water. The best way to wake up! In summer you can enjoy the sun in our garden or terrace on the water and even swim. But in the other seasons it is also relaxing and wonderful.
This district is popular by the many cultural activities on the old NDSM site (walking distance). The dynamic center of Amsterdam is only 15 minutes, take the bike and free ferry and you're there. You can also 8 minutes walk from the ferry or bus (10 minutes). If you want to cycle, take a ride through the beautiful city and / or go to the countryside can too. There are possibly bikes. It only takes 5 minutes and you're in the country. You can even visit Volendam, Edam and Durgerdam. You can park for free. There is always enough parking space. Amsterdam Center has many restaurants, bars and clubs. To see beautiful film about Amsterdam (website hidden) But also in North Amsterdam are within walking distance many good restaurants. We all know them, so feel free to ask for information. DEAR VISITOR OF AMSTERDAM A hearty welcome to Amsterdam, our capital and largest city and the financial and cultural centre of The Netherlands. Amsterdam has almost two million visitors a year and with reason! Amsterdam has so much to offer. There are the canals, full of character in every kind of weather. You can take a canal cruise boat and view the seventeenth century houses from the water, or just take a walk. Then there are the museums. Amsterdam is the place to be for Rembrandts, Van Goghs and modern art. The theatres present shows mainly in Dutch off course, but opera and ballet are universal languages. The Spiegel- kwartier and P.C. Hooftstraat are rich shopping grounds for fashion, jewellery and antiques. When it comes to food and drink, Amsterdam offers the wide range you would expect of a big city: from little fast food stalls to Michelin-star gourmet restaurants and bars and nightclubs in all sorts and sizes. Whatever your liking, Amsterdam is an exciting city for everyone. We give you some handy facts, figures and customs to make you enjoy your stay even more.

Thanks again Gerard and Joke !

    Flora2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent weekend with great people, Gerard and Joke are very nice and they do their maximum for you. It's very simple to reach the city center by the ferry, only 5-10min by walk and 10min with the ferry. You will discover an other part of Amsterdam! A place you should go!

    Emilie2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very good host and house. Gerard and Joke welcome me warmly and gave us a very kind to me. When I depart and arrive, they pick me up Ferry stand. The house is good location, close to water terrace, quiet area, clean room, cute cat.

  • I had a great time staying here, a perfect little room with a beautiful view , wonderful experience and Joke and Gerrard made it all the better with their great hospitality

    Sammi2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time at Joke and Gerald’s. The room was exactly like the picture and the hospitality was top notch. I really appreciate the conversations we had and the travel tips they gave me. Getting around was easy by bus to the Metro or by free ferry to Amsterdam Centraal or Jordaan.

    Gabriel2018-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay with Gerard & Joke. Pics are accurate as their place is on a canal near the ferry drop for NDSM wharf. What I liked was you were away from the city in an up and coming former industrial area but just a 10 min walk and 15 min free ferry to Centraal. Cool coffee shop and very good restaurant named Pllek nearby. Grocery store is 5 min walk from their house. Gerard and Joke were gracious hosts. Room and bath were very nice. View is of the canal and really nice rain head shower. I spent many evening on the couch with Gerard drinking wine and chatting. If you want a place away from the city but still convenient this is it. Oh - and they have 2 really cool cats. Very relaxing having them around to pet at night.

    George2016-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm welcome from both Joke en Gerard, who made me feel at hope from the very first moment. The evening was very nice and I was very enjoyable, even meeting some friends of Joke and Gerard. Very recommandable for the lonely traveller I was!

A lovely bohemian houseboat located in the cultural hotspot area of Amsterdam close to the center. You can use our flowerfull terrace to have drink, relax and enjoy living on water. A city beach with the best view at the skyline from Amsterdam, great places like the Amsterdam Tower, Eye Film Museum, Noorderlicht, De Ceuvel, Pllek are just 5 minutes walk away from the boat.

  • The boat was super cute and cozy. Surprisingly well functioning for a boat; the shower worked well and we had no problems with anything. Wietske and Jetske were extremely helpful and welcoming, really sweet people and easy to communicate with. We spent 3 nights on the boat and the experience was awesome.

    Leena-Maija2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wietske and Jetske were so wonderful to us during our stay in Amsterdam. As soon as we arrived, it was very easy to take the ferry over from Central Station. Jetske picked us up and was so kind to show us how to get around. They left us some food to nibble on in the fridge as well as coffee and tea. We enjoyed our time not only in the city but also with the incredible hosts. We hope to be back and to stay here in the future!

    Jennifer2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • I and my doughter (17) stayed with Wietske and Jetske for two nights on our interrail. The boat we rented and the place itself are very charming. We only met Jetske during our stay. She was very helpful and service-minded. She picked us up by car when we arrived, and drove us back again when it was time for us to leave. While we visited, we got to borrow their bikes as much as we wanted. The boat is quite ok. We haven't lived on a houseboat before, but I assume that this is what to expect from a "bohemian houseboat". Very charming, and a crab came to visit! Jetske says that they have never seen a crab on the boat before, and I believe her. This summer the boat is going on land for some maintenance and an upgrade. Housekeeping was good, silverware and glasses could have been cleaner, but I would say that we are quite demanding in that category. In total, I reccomend a stay here. We felt very welcome, safe and well looked after.

    Henny2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Wietske & Jetske was lovely! They came pick us up at the wharf and showed us a few nice places in the neighbourhood. Their house/ the boat was really cute, but also comfy and our hosts had really gone the extra mile by filling the mini fridge. Great time in general, would definitely recommend!

    Tristan2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
Recomendo a experiência.

  • Joke and Gerard are terrific hosts and their flat is self contained and quirky and is situated right near the exciting Amsterdam North's new development. The flat is on the canal - which makes it peaceful, and the hospitality of both hosts and neighbours is second to none. Do note that the flat, beds, kitchen area, shower and toilet are all in one large room, with shower and toilet being hidden behind modern concrete partitions - a very funky flat and being improved and added to all the time. Do go if you get a chance!

This is a private and comfortable studio on a houseboat which is very nicely decorated. Through the big sliding window door you can enter your own private deck which will give you a nice view over the water. You are welcomed with a complementary breakfast package to begin the day with, during your stay in Amsterdam.
You have a private lounge with a kitchenette and a comfortable sofa. The lounge is connected with a sliding door/window to a small and sunny terrace where you can drink your coffee and enjoy the water view. By climbing a small stair you will get to your bedroom with a twin bed and a window.
The studio is located in the hippest area of Amsterdam North close to the NDSM and a few minutes away from the ferry that will take you within 15 minutes to Amsterdam Central station/inner city. It feels more like a mini cruise than public transport! The area is booming with lots of bars and restaurants and occasionally a festival. You are also close to Eye Amsterdam, Amsterdam Tower and the waterfront. In what seems like direct contrast to the cutting-edge vibe, this area also has loads of lovely little villages that are ideal for exploring on foot, by bicycle or by water. Historic villages such as Nieuwendam, Ransdorp and Zunderdorp have authentic stolpboerderijen (traditional Dutch farmhouses with roofs built in the shape of a cheese-cover), wooden houses, canal locks and impressive polder views.
  • Karen’n apartment is so cute and cozy. We loved the porch for morning coffee. The bed is super comfortable! It is about a 10 min walk to ferry port which you can catch a free ferry back and forth from downtown. There isn’t much around the apartment itself though.

  • The studio is in an on-water house, located in a 15 minutes free ferry ride from city center. It's small but cozy, with a wide bed upstairs. Karen has a good eye for detail and there is a lot of tourist information at the place.

  • This was an excellent place to stay for a weekend in Amsterdam. Lovely and idealic, from the decor to the amenities, and of course a great host! Just a short walk from the ferry service that gets you to and from Amsterdam central in no time at all. You get your own private space and it really is the perfect place to start your day, and relaxing enough to end a long day out as well. Really great value, honesly can't recommend Karen's place enough :) Liam&Alice

  • Karen’s houseboat studio is cosy and wonderful! She’s an amazing host and is really quick at replying, the place is quiet and away from the city centre which is relaxing, but at the same time it only takes 20-30 minutes on the free ferry to get to the centre! If you manage to book her place do it ASAP! As there a very few dates available

  • Located in a lovely area out the way of central but only a 10minute free ferry away! Karen (& Charlie) were very friendly when we met them, the place itself is lovely and the hosts were nice enough to stock it with some snacks for us! Definitely recommend!

  • Michell and I had wonderful time at Karen’s place. With the nearby free ferry ride it was easy to reach the city center. Karen was friendly and very helpful in explaining the local intricacies. Would strongly recommend Karen’s place as a suitable base for exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

Located in the north of Amsterdam. Close to the Central station / city centre by free ferry. Walking distance to the EYE film museum, A'DAM tower and the trendy industrial NDSM-area. Nowadays Amsterdam Noord has became the hippest area which is full of things to see and do. • Fantastic!

    Kumell2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and it has everything you will need. However, the location is a bit far away from Central Amsterdam as you have to take a ferry and then the train (although its easy to navigate). Additionally, the gate to the complex was closed and we were not able to open it late at night or early in the morning which was stressful and we did not know that we wouldn't be able to open it. I thought that check-in was a bit strange as we could not use the space until late in the day. We had to drop our bags off and then wait in a cafe for 2 hours until Meiya was done working in the space. Not exactly the experience I was expecting but beautiful place nonetheless.

    Grace2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Meiya’s studio was perfect for our weekend away. It had everything we needed in a location only 15 min walk from the ferry, which takes you right into central. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Gemma2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Meiyas Apartment was very fancy. It had everything for a super trendy studio apartment and made our visit in Amsterdam even better! Also, the speakers were amazing. She even picked us up after the ferry transfer.

  • very nice apartment in a quiet location 15 min walk from the ferry for a one-minute crossing to be directly in the center

    Clément2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is a spectacular example of Amsterdam Noord’s art and design scene. It is a huge open space, artfully decorated and full of character. It has everything you need for a short stay - towels, soap, coffee, etc. Meiya is a really responsive host and was available via messages before and during the stay, and during check-out. She also allowed us to check in early and check out late which made our trip run smoothly. If we come back to Amsterdam, we will be looking to stay here again!

    Georgina2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Meiya for everything!

NDSM is blooming, a lot of artists have their playground down here and it is a hotspot for a few festivals in springtime and fall. Crossing over the IJ from Central Station to NDSM with the free ferry, gives you a beautiful view over Amsterdam.

  • All good, but it is not a boat house as you would be expecting from Amsterdam, As you are behind the owners boat house in a sort of floating container. The flat is nicely decorated and we were provided with very nice breakfast in the morning! The location is is within walking distance from the ferry that will take you free of charge to the city center.

FREE FERRY, FREE PARKING This tiny wooden place is situated in one of the most upcoming areas of Amsterdam: the North side.
Within 10 minutes on one of the ferries (900 meters from the house) you are at the Central Station of Amsterdam. There is a supermarket nearby and a lot of very nice places to eat/drink on a walking distance from the house.
Walking out of the garden, you go to the right and have a walk along the water, cross the bridge and enjoy the characteristic rural houses on the Buiksloterdijk or Kadoelenweg. Hire a bike and cycle to amazing beautiful small villages such as Durgerdam, Ilpendam of Broek in Waterland. In a 10 minutes walk you reach the place where it all happens: NDSM-werf. Festivals, art, terrific food, furniture, theatre, anything what makes your heart beat, you will find it there. And of course the ferry. It takes you to the heart of the city. Enjoy the free 13 minutes tour across het IJ to the Center side of the city. The trip itself is an every day joy! You will find a list of nice things to visit / restaurants you shouldn't miss.
  • A percfect gateway to the city. In just a few minutes walk you'll reach the really hip NDSM wharf with its restaurants, arts and many places to discover. Then the free ferry is just an other step away. The cabin is so cozy!! You will feel at home the second you walk in. Everything important is there as well as a welcome snack of your host. Whenever we'll be back to Amsterdam, we would certainly consider this accomodation again.

  • It was a really nice place! Miranda & Nico welcommed us really good and the cabin was great! We can really recommend it.

    Juliette2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The photos do not do this place justice! The cabin is designed and decorated with great taste and comfort, in a gorgeous location on the water and in the fun Noord area only 5 minutes cycle to the free ferry to Central. Miranda and Wilbert were so friendly and generous, with plenty of recommendations for the weekend! Communication was great and we can’t thank you enough for such a lovely stay- see you again soon I’m sure!

    Danielle2018-05-13T00:00:00Z

    Hanne2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible. I really love street art and Amsterdam Noord is the place to be. Nico and Miranda prepared a list of restaurants, bars, and cool local things to check out. They were helpful and very warm and welcoming. Nico and I shared conversation over coffee and toast. It’s a beautiful space that is well designed (big windows for airflow and light) and it’s just decorated very thoughtfully. They left me a couple snacks to help me settle from my trip from NYC too which was far too nice. Hosts like Nico and Miranda are why I love airbnb.

    Geoffrey2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little cabin by the water. Slightly away from the city bustle, but very relaxing, very well maintained, stylish and very cosy.

    Henry2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing stay with Miranda and Nico, I couldn't recommend enough! The cabin is stylishly designed and furnished, and has great amenities such as a coffee machine (actually 2 options) with coffee, beers and snacks for you to enjoy, and is right on the canal with a beautiful sunrise. As an open water swimmer, I actually enjoyed a swim right from the pontoon on Miranda and Nico's recommendation that it was clean and safe, which was a unique treat for me! They're also a 10-15 minute walk to the ferry terminal (or you can use one of their bikes) where there are regular and free ferries right to the main station. I can't wait to come back, thank you both!

    Shona2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed here and it was just fantastic. The location is great as it gets you out of the city centre and into the countryside, but after a 10 minute walk and 15 minute free ferry you are right in the centre of the city. The cabin was beautiful, private and well kept, with nice little touches here and there. It has all you need for a weekend get away! Unfortunately we didn’t catch Miranda and Nico, but a few days before we arrived we received very well though our arrival notes which were off great use. We were also able to check in straight away which saved us carrying our bags around all day. We would both love to return in the future so perhaps we will meet then!!

  • We were a group of ten people and it was great to stay at the boat and a really unique and special accomodation. The location was great. Just 15 Minutes by a public boat for free and you are in the middle of the city. The warm welcome ad accessibility of the hosts make the stay unforgetable. We had a really good time and a very good view over the city, to celebrate new years eve. I would ever recommend for people, who are searching for a little adventure :-)

  • Henri's cabin is pretty much how he describes it. Henri and his mate Markus were very welcoming and I felt very at home on their ship. The sleeping quarters are a bit cramped but it is a functioning sailing ship this is to be expected.

  • Very unique airbnb and awesome way to meet way to meet people. I think there is only one thing to not and it's not even necessary bad thing and that is the location. If you want to be in the center near Amsterdam square then this boat probably isnt it. But if you don't mind the ferry and the North side of Amsterdam then theres no problem. There are many places within walking distance for drinks and food. When you wait on the ferry there is a cool place to get coffee and snacks if you like. But the experience for me was great and everyone on the boat was so nice.

My lovely two pax apartment is located in the northern part of Amsterdam. The apartment offers a light and cosy livingroom, separate modern kitchen, comfortable bedroom at calm backside of the house and modern bathroom. You enjoy sun whole day at one of the two balconies. If you're looking for a quiet and luxurious place this is the perfect place. Also close to the action at famous NDSM area and only 20 minutes (by foot 10 minutes + ferry fare 10 minutes) away from the city centre of Amsterdam.
It is a nice and comfortable, spacious apartment in a nice and quite neighbourhood. You have access to the livingroom, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and ofcourse the two balconies.
Directly across the water (known as ‘the IJ’) behind Central Station, Amsterdam Noord boasts the best of contrasting worlds: vast green expanses and charming little villages plus some of the city's most cutting-edge architecture, exciting festivals, artist studios and stylish waterside hangouts with beautiful terraces. A free ferry from behind Central Station will take you there in minutes; so don’t miss the chance to explore this unique area of Amsterdam.

  • Clear, modern ammenities, quiet neighbourhood. 30 minutes by public transport (bus & metro or walking & ferry) to the centre of Amsterdam.

    Jordan2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is not in the central Amsterdam area, it is in the north on the other bank of the Ij river. It is ten minutes walking from the ferry that goes to the central station. The neighbourghood is nice, really quite, which is good because Amsterdam (the central area) is so crowdy that it could be overwhelming, and going back to a quite place to have dinner and sleep was very pleasant. There is a market near the place and this fact along with the really good kitchen it has, is a perfect combination.

  • Came for a few days with my boyfriend. Was ideal for us, was like being at home. Quiet area and not far from central (free ferry ride away) Would definitely recommend

    Savannah2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, what an amazing apartment Inge has to offer. It's located in the north side of Amsterdam which has a bit of a reputation for being hard to reach at times, but don't let that fool you - you can catch a bus that takes you to Centraal in 20 minutes, but why would you do that when you can walk to NDSM-werf and take the free ferry across the IJ straight into the center of the city? The apartment is located in a lovely quiet street, surrounded by friendly locals. There's plenty to see and eat down at the aforementioned NDSM-werf if you want something a bit more active. The apartment itself is beautiful! There's loads of lovely art on the walls, and as it's primarily Inge's home it feels a lot more like a home than a holiday house. The bed is super comfy, the amenities provided are plentiful (tea, coffee, sugar, shampoo, soaps, etc), and the two balconies were appreciated in the unexpectedly warm late September weather I was lucky enough to experience! I'd recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to get away from the ridiculously busy centre but still be close enough to head there whenever you desire. Inge is a wonderfully attentive host especially considering my last minute booking, and I hope to stay again one day. Thank you Inge!

Ground floor: Spacious living with open doors to the beach-style garden along the water - hall - toilet - fully equipped kitchen with oven / microwave, espresso machine, fridge, freezer, dish washer, etc. First floor: Bedroom with king size bed (160 / 210) - bedroom with single bed (90 / 200) - bathroom with shower, separate bath, double sink, toilet Top floor: Master bedroom with king size bed (180 / 210)
Newly build super comfy family house (145 m2) along the waterside in trendy Amsterdam Noord near NDSM Wharf. The garden is facing southwest, so you can enjoy and relax until the sun goes down. Please note as we have no fence between our garden and the water it is not very suitable for small children. In the summer you can swim in the open water and take a dive straight from the quay :-)
Amsterdam North has an industrial atmosphere and became one of the coolest neighborhoods over the last years. More and more hotspots are popping up and locals love to go there for the food. Visit urban beaches such as 'Pllek' or the old boat dock 'the Ceuvel' that has been transformed into a creative place that offers art, music, swimming and food. Both perfect spots to relax and enjoy the warm weather on the waterfront. Other nice places overlooking the IJ-lake are film museum EYE (enjoy the sunset on their beautiful terrace!), seafood restaurant Stork and THT restaurant. One of our favorite areas in Amsterdam North is the NDSM Wharf. North is also the place to be for vintage and thrift shopping. You can’t miss the monthly flea market in the IJ-hallen, a true second hand heaven. You can take one of our bikes and discover the picturesque villages of Nieuwendam, Schelllingwoude and Durgerdam (an authentic village with wooden fisherman cottages), Ransdorp and Zunderdorp or rural Amsterdam with lots of green meadows with cows and sheeps; it's all just around the corner of our house. Noord is not only spacious and green, but also inspiring and vibrant. Here you will find an exciting mix of experimental festivals, picturesque country villages and stylish restaurants on the water. When in the city center you can easily discover the beautiful Jordaan (with Anne Frank Museum and the cozy "9 Streets", famous for the their boutique shops and small restaurants) or the city centre and museum square (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum). Also the famous Dutch villages Marken and Volendam, the open air museum “Zaanse Schans” and the cheese markets in Alkmaar and Edam are within reach. The beach is only 30 min away.
  • Wilma offers a very beautiful home where you can enjoy your amsterdam trip. You need around 20 minutes to the central station and maybe 5 minutes to the next supermarket. Wilma is also a very nice person, if you need something to know she will help you perfectly. Next year I'm coming back.

The Houseboat-Studio with beautifull roof top terrace is located on the topfloor of my houseboat in a little Houseboat-Village in Amsterdam North. Free parking next to the village! 10 Minute walk from the Free Ferry/Boat that brings you to Central Station. Overlooking the amazing NDSM-area with lots of bars/restaurants/markets/festivals.
Staying/living on a houseboat in Amsterdam is just the best way to relax after a busy day in city! During the night it's nice and silent in ''our houseboat-village''. The boat ride from the Central Station is a excellent way to come here, especially in combination with a rented bike which makes you free as a bird here in the city! Coffee/Tea & Refridgerator are there for you.
The Houseboat village gives you a unique holiday feeling with the pier and by neighbors self made garden etc. Just a small distance away from the beautiful but o so busy city center. Overlooking the amazing NDSM-area with super cool bars and events. This area used to be a huge Shipyard and now it’s one of the cultural/ trendy playgrounds from the city! Visit Cafe De Ceuvel, completely made from recycled materials. Furniture made from half boats. Lots of old houseboats that they put on the land where al funky businesses are and often workshops. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed for sure!
  • Super hôte ! Super accueil ! Appart très cosy.

  • Marc’s house boat Studio was fantastic to stay on! Nice quiet house boat village just next to the exciting NDSM area. The houseboat is a perfect place to end & start your day! With the right ferry connection we where at central station in 15 minutes. The Studio was very nice and just renovated it had a private entrance and a brand new bathroom. When we arrived Marc welcomed us and that day we did a awesome boat tour with his luxurious ship around the canals! Parking the car for free next to the house boat village was very convenient! We can definitely recommend this place!

This authentic ship is in the middle of the NDSM wharf which is the most upcoming and cultural hotspot in Amsterdam. Zout is just 5 minutes walking from the free ferry which brings you to the centre of Amsterdam. The ship is very cosy and comfortable. It's the best way to experience living on a ship! On the same wharf you will find bars, a bakery and restaurants with nice terraces over the IJ canal viewing the historical city.
There are 4 cabins in the ship with one shower and toilet. In the dayroom there is a heater. Here you can make breakfast. You can't cook on the ship apart from baking and cooking eggs, warming up soup, make coffee and tea. On the first morning you will have breakfast in your fridge; coffee, tea, bread, cheese, jam and meats.

  • A great place to stay in Amsterdam and easy to get to with the ferry. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • If you are looking for an alternative and different stay in Amsterdam, this is it! Plus Jan and Riet are fabulous hosts. The boat is comfortable, cosy and is located in an über cool area. The ferry ride to get to Noord is a fun trip in its own. Highly reccommended location in Amsterdam.

  • Such a cool boat and place to stay if you’re a group of people! We had a great time and would really go back!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Jan's boat. Interior very homely with wood burner in main lounge area keeping it nice and warm. Comfortable beds and good shower. However, disappointed to learn that we couldn't cook our own food on the boat (microwave unplugged, texted Jan about how we could turn this on, to which he replied that we weren't allowed to cook on his boat). This would not have been a problem, except we were led to believe we would be able to use kitchen facilities to cook, as 'kitchen' was stated in list of amenities. Must also add that walk to the ferry is closer to 10 minutes than 2.

    Dug2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jan and Riet's boat is a fantastic place to stay while in Amsterdam! It's fully equipped with everything and extremely functional. Equipped with drinking water, hot shower, really clean beds, it will make your stay super comfortable. Great experience overall!

Looking for a group accommodation in Amsterdam? Nothing is more fun than sleeping on a ship. The Maxima is different than usual, has round shapes, shiny showers, clean lines and coloured doors. The ship is located in the artistic neighbourhood: the NDSM Wharf in the North of Amsterdam.
The Maxima is a traditional sailing ship from 1900, but a little different than other traditional ships in Holland. With a modern interior, round shapes, lots of colours and pleasant atmosphere you feel at home right away. The living space consists of a dayroom and kitchen where you can cook, relax, be together and celebrate your holidays. There are two showers, two toilets and six cabins for two persons, and one cabin for four. There are only single beds. In total, there is space for 18 people, but during the winter months we recommend 14, because of the limited space. In the summer months, the Maxima sails on the Wadden Sea as a charter ship.
The Maxima is located on a jetty on the authentic old shipyard: the NDSM-wharf in Amsterdam North. From the boat it is a 5-minute walk to the (free) ferry, that will take you across the water to the central station in 15 minutes. On the pictures of the Maxima, you still see the old private jetty where the Maxima is anchored. Nowadays we lay right around the corner (still at the same distance from the ferry) on a shared jetty with other boats. Around the corner is the public parking space where you can park your car for €1,30 per hour (max € 7.80 p.day). Besides the famous city center, Amsterdam has a lot more to offer. For example, the NDSM Wharf, where the boat is anchored. This area emerged the last five years as one of the hippest and most creative neighborhoods in Amsterdam. In the summertime there are festivals organized every weekend, and in the winter there are all creative and cultural events in the huge industrial warehouses. At a two-minute walk from the boat, you will find Café Noorderlicht, an organic restaurant that already had sustainability and bio-products before it became a trend. In the evenings they often have live music. Tip: when night falls, go drink a local beer on the Noorderlicht terrace, overlooking the water and the Amsterdam skyline. Slightly further you will find Pllek, a restaurant built from old shipping containers, with great food and good music. And just two minutes further, you will find the ferry that takes you across the water to the centre of Amsterdam. When you choose to book the Maxima, we will send you a detailed map with al the info and walking routes. At the departure site of the ferries, there is a bakery: BBROOD!, where they serve delishious bread. Below are the times of the ferry at the NDSM site. There also exists another ferry at a a 15-minute bicycle ride distance from the Buiksloterweg NDSM ferry to Central Station. This goes every night, all night long, every 12 minutes. You will therefore always get home, no matter what time it is. Besides ferries, there is also a bus from the NDSM Wharf to the Central station and an Uber costs between €11-€16.

Welcome to 'the Aquarius', our beautiful houseboat in Amsterdam! 'The Aquarius' is a peaceful place to relax on board or in the garden, on our terrace or enjoy a swim in the canal. The boat is located at the NDSM wharf, a hipster hotspot with an industrial feel with lots of activities, start-ups, festivals, hotels, creative companies. ‘The Aquarius’ is also very close to the city centre. Crossing the IJ-river with the (free) ferries is a great experience! Free car parking!
The Aquarius is a houseboat with 4 split-levels. Due to the many windows, the light is amazing. It has two bedrooms with both single beds. In the living room there’s a double bed. We use one room to store all the stuff you don’t need during your stay. The kitchen is complete. There's a lot of space outside to hang around. We have a hammock to chill out all day. We have a canoe that you can use. We have all sizes of life jackets (also baby/ child sizes) that you can use if you want. In the street where we live there's also a playground where you can play football, tabletennis and basketball. Also for smaller children this playground is great! We have an alarm system that we will explain to you on your arrival.
The boat is located at the NDSM wharf. NDSM area is a hipster hotspot with lots of activities, start-ups, festivals, hotels, creative companies and hotspots like Noorderlicht, De Ceuvel and urban beach Pllek. NDSM is part of district North, one of the coolest neighbourhoods of Amsterdam with an industrial feel. With great restaurants like De Goudfazant, Stork, Hangar, Bistro Noord Café Modern and FC Hyena (also filmhouse). Visit the Amsterdam Tower and Eye Film Museum (enjoy the sunset on their beautiful terrace!). North is also the place to be for vintage and thrift shopping. You can’t miss the monthly flea market in the IJ-hallen, a true second hand heaven.
  • Awesome Beautiful place in Amsterdam. Very nice Hosts. Beautiful individual furniture.

  • Fantastic house and location. Nicole was a very good host and responded quickly to any queries.

    Bradley2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were two couples, and tried AriBnb the first time. We have spent our vacation on Nicole's beautiful houseboat in Amsterdam Noord. The houseboat is a very special place and absolutely no comparison to a hotel. Everything has a very exceptional character, sleeping without street noise, the minimum fluctuation of the boat and the connection to the nice garden have beautified our stay. However, the location of the House boat is the best, it is far enough away from the city, but within 10 minutes with the free ferry you can be directly in the Centre of Amsterdam!! We are very thankful that we got the possibility to enjoy our trip to amsterdam in this amazing houseboat and would really like to come back again! :)

    Feli2017-07-30T00:00:00Z

Welcome aboard of our ship 'Waterwolf'! She was build in 1898 and completely renovated to host a total of 26 guests comfortably in a classic setting. This includes comfy beds, a cozy large common room with a beerdraft and a big proffesional kitchen, in one of Amsterdams booming area's, close to the city center!
What greater way to visit Amsterdam then staying together on a antique & luxurious sailingship? Not only is it cheaper then any of the hotels in town but also will you have your own kitchen, sitting area & 4 bathrooms! While stayig in an part of Amsterdam that is unique and artistic but a free ferry ride away from Central station and downtown Amsterdam!
Our ship is moored in the NDSM area, The NDSM shipyard in Amsterdam Noord is a rugged, adventurous and iconic area on the IJ. The free character, the post-industrial buildings and the creative atmosphere form the backdrop where culture, self-organization and urban development come together.
  • Truly amazing time on the ship!! Definitely a must do for anyone that comes to Amsterdam. Next time we come we will most likely be staying there again!!! Again, must repeat! Amazing experience!

  • We had a great week-end in Amsterdam. The owner of the boat was very quick to answer any questions we had, the place was clean when we arrived and is exactly as described in the website. We had a very warm welcoming too, always nice with us and offering any tips or advise we could ask for. Would definitely recommend it.

    Antoine2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! Olaf is a welcoming and attentive host. The accommodation is very clean, functional and very suitable for groups We were 8 friends on the sailboat and everything went very well. Olaf made us a great breakfast. We were at the Amsterdam Marina so we had access to showers and toilets within 2 minutes of the boat. Thank for all !

Vielen Dank Olaf.

  • Olaf is a fantastic host. He was one of the main reasons why our group (10 persons) has a fantastic weekend in Amsterdam.

    Stefan2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Olaf, his boat and Amsterdam were just wonderful! Four friends and I stayed onboard Olaf's boat for two nights and had a brilliant time. The boat itself was beautiful inside and out, as were the surroundings. Olaf's advice was invaluable, and his breakfast was hearty and delicious as promised. The lack of washing facilities onboard were no problem at all as we used the gym which is a five minute walk away. All-in-all an excellent trip. We'll be booking again and this time for a sailing trip for a whole week! Thank you Okaf :)

    Matthew2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of six guys and spent three days on the Zuiderzee around the time of New Years Eve. Skipper Olaf is a great host. He also sleeps at his ship, which is 150 years old but seemed to be in a nice constitution. Olaf prepared breakfast with eggs and bacon for us and welcomed us with Oliebollen (a delicious pastry from the netherlands) when we arrived. There is no shower on the boat but it doesnt really matter, one minute to walk there is a gym with showers which we used during our stay. The tram is also only two minutes to walk. The ship lays not so far from the city center. The Tram takes 10 minutes to Waterlooplein and to the main station you can walk in 30 minutes. The ship is of course narrow and a little bit rustic. But it is something particular to stay there. We really enjoyed our time. Esepecially at night it was completely silent and everybody slept very well. I can recommend Olaf and his ship we had a great time on the Zuiderzee!

Welcome to this sailing ship from 1897 in Amsterdam, and now functioning as a group-accommodation at a spot where it's hip! In the summer months, the boat sails on the Wadden Sea as a charter. With a cosy interior and pleasant atmosphere you feel at home right away. The NDSM area is a new hotspot of Amsterdam, in a view minutes you walk to the free ferry's which will take you to the centre of Amsterdam! Hope to see you aboard!
The boat has a living space where it is very nice to stay. With a group you get immediate atmosphere that will feel at home and together. The boat is also very populair by families with children.
The Boreas is located on a private jetty on the authentic old shipyard the NDSM-wharf in Amsterdam North. You are only 9 minutes away from central Amsterdam by ferry. The NDSM area emerged the last five years as one of the hippest and most creative neighborhoods in Amsterdam. In the summertime there are festivals organised every weekend, and in the winter there are all creative and cultural events in the huge warehouses. The location is awesome - you can take the ferry for free wich leads you directly into the centre. Still there are very cool bars and restaurants right next to the boat.

  • Very good weekend spent on this boat. 16 people for a bachelorette party. Grietje was very available to prepare our arrival, and gave us all information needed to go downtown. Thanks to the free ferry it is easy to go to the citycenter and not too expensive to comeback by taxi.

  • A faire pour le fun

  • One of the best places I've ever stayed! The room was beautiful and luxurious, the views were absolutely incredible, the owner was a dream. Location was perfect for 2 young creatives - an industrial area with cool bars and cafes but also pretty vast, so it's not noisey at all. Super easy to get into central. We can't wait to go back again. It's not for the faint hearted though, so if you don't like lifts/ heights - it's not for you!

    Rebecca2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing and unique experience ever! Have to try this at least once!!! (Unless your are afraid of heights)

    Vincent2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely worth the experience if you get the chance. The pictures are accurate and the room feels like a fancy dream tree house with great views. Fun, vibrant and quirky neighborhood with an interesting background. No problems getting to / from Amsterdam Central on the nice and free 15-minute ferry ride that I never had to wait for more than 8-10 minutes to catch. The crane really sticks out on the ferry ride and can be seen from far away. Fellow visitors and I were unaware that you have to reserve and pay (90 EUR!) for the hot tub. It is one of the reasons I paid the higher price just to stay, assuming it was included. That said, the hot tub is a must have experience all by itself, day or night. Being up that high with most of the space taken up by the hot tub makes for an unforgettable amazing memory. Maybe the hot tub price isn't so bad if you split the costs with friends or other visitors like we did. Overall, a fun stay that I won't forget!

    Ryan2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic view and in total peace thanks to the excellent sound proofing. The 'egg' chair is amazing for just focusing on the view! Extremely comfortable bed; we are now looking to buy a coco-mat :) Hanging out in the hot tub at the top was very cool. A wonderful experience all round! thank you!

  • We were made to feel very welcome and everything was explained to us. This is such a cool place to stay and the views are amazing! Would recommend to anyone.

  • Really awesome experience! Location is on the other side of the water... But a short ferry crossing of 10 mins and your at central station. Definitely a quirky experience, but with lifts that go to your room, so it works. We travelled on a festival weekend that made things a bit noisy, other than these times, when are you going to get to stay in a crane with a rainfall shower and Sonos...

  • This place is incredible - such a quirky, fun and luxurious boutique hotel. We stayed in suite 1 (free spirit) which was even better in real life than the pictures. Hosts friendly and we were even able to check in early. And a crazy place to get engaged! We loved our stay, thank you so much for the experience.

Staying on our sailing ship is a truly unique experience, not only is it comfortable and one of the cheapest and nicest spots to stay with a larger group, it has everything you need while being away from home. It's located in Amsterdams 'up & coming' NDSMdistrict, that's packed with old warehouses, graffiti arts and plenty of cultural cafes and restaurants, within walking distance. The free ferry will get you from the ship to central station and thus downtown within 10 minutes.
Experience the life on the water in the centre of Amsterdam on board of sailing ship the LOTUS (build in 1889) The LOTUS has a large living room with an fully equipped open plan kitchen and a beerdraft. There are 8 cabins all of them which have comfortable made beds, towels and hot & cold running water. Feel free to contact us to discuss all the possibilities to make your visit to Amsterdam as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
The former NDSM Amsterdam ship wharf is a stunning hangout. Just 10 minutes by free ferry from Amsterdam Central Station. A former shipyard located on the banks of the River IJ in Amsterdam Noord, the NDSM Wharf has blossomed into an enormous cultural hotspot in recent years with a vibrant artist community and an ever-expanding variety of bars and restaurants. With grounds exceeding the size of ten football pitches, the area hosts multi-disciplinary festivals, performances, exhibitions, dance parties and a wide range of other events in unique, post-industrial surroundings.

On the top of the crane is the hot spa pool (guests only). From every corner the view over Amsterdam and harbour is breathtaking. Nobody knows you can see all that's happening below.

The most Romantic spot is the spa pool on top deck. The view is astonishing especially at night time. For guests only; €90,- / 3 hours. The Crane is now one of the most significant developments of its time and has received unprecedented international media coverage to herald its uniqueness. There are many nice and popular restaurants right under the crane. We'll advise and you'll get a list with all the restaurants

  • place is unreal, and the host is a legend.

    Oliver2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The approach of the hotel was stunning! A cool trip with a small ferry, arrival in the Northern part of Amsterdam, passing several nice restaurants.... And there it was: the mother of all cranes, the Faralda. Edwin, the owner/manager made us feel very welcome and poored us a glass of wine. Then we took the small construction-site-elevator to the room. Which is.... Very, very comforting in a burlesque kind of way. You feel like you own your own nightclub for one night. Including the best bed you can imagine, by COCO-MAT. Did I say that the bed was goooood? After a thorough inspection of the room, we decided that we did not want to go out for dinner.

  • There is no way that pictures posted here can show you how incredible the place is. Taking a ferry is a must which will add to your experience. Forget about any land transport. The view overlooking the area, channel and harbour is awesome 24 hours a day especially at night during full moon which we fortunatelly experienced. By the time you get to the room having experinced spiral stairs and compact elevators you start feeling like a kid. Experience from taking jacuzzi on the top level drinking cham is just beyond words. Right next to the crane there is famous and unique Broedplaats a place housing all kinds of artists, designers and other creative workers located inside of old & huge facility that used to be NDSM shipyard shop/warehouse. The owner was very welcoming and helpful.
