My place is close to the Columbia River, the Wind River, lots of lakes, hiking trails like the PCT, Dog Mt., Wind Mt. We are about an hour from Maryhill winery and museum and Mt. Hood and 30 min from Hood River. You’ll love my place for the outdoor spaces, the neighborhood and the close proximity to amenities. We offer quiet, country living and the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge. My place is good for adventurers, business travelers or families (see my other listings for more guest rooms).
The bedroom is a full bed with a closet, dresser and nightstand with a reading lamp. The bathroom (occasionally shared) is directly across the hall from the bedroom. Guest will have access to the living room and a shared kitchen. There is also a front covered porch that is nice in the summer and spring.
The house is located on a very quiet cul-de-sac and has a large yard and covered porch. The house is also located on the back side of the Carson Hot Springs Golf course and spa. There is a grocery store and post office less than a mile away as well as the famous Backwoods Brewery known for its excellent beer and pizza.
  • Very comfortable room and Janet is a very sweet & welcoming hostess. Great location too, hiking trails & close to the hot spring!

  • Janet’s place was just as advertised. It is well appointed and very clean. And Janet is a great host.

  • Hi Janet, Thank you for offering great accommodation. You offered very clean room. I was able to spend a comfortable 3 nights. Her house locates near the Columbia River Gorge. It was a quiet environment surrounded by big trees. In the night I was able to see lots of stars between the trees. I met one professor who taught at Cornell University in NY. He was staying to attend the conference. I thought Janet's house is loved by many people. In order to fully enjoy the nature of the Columbia River Gorge, I would like to return to Janet's house.

Ideal for Gorge athletes! Paddlers, surfers, kiters, hikers, runners, bikers, etc.....the complete list is much longer ;-) Private lockable room but shared bathrooms, kitchen, living room etc. When it's a full house (often), scheduling the shower is best. Our house is BLUE! Please do not disturb the RED house ;-)
  • Jon nous a très bien accueilli dans son logement, très propre et très fonctionnel, et nous a donné de précieux conseils sur les visites à faire dans les environs.

  • Job needs to add photos to his Airbnb description. The bedrooms are bunkbeds/bed. The common area reminded me of a hostel with all the cabinets labeled with supplies. We never met Jon. The house was just unlocked. We did have a bedroom key to the door. There was no welcome note or booklet of information or House rules. The location was good and just 5 miles outside of Stevenson.

    Liz2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • this place was awesome! Definitely would stay here again. Jon was very easy to get ahold of.

  • Nice place to stay int he area, close to Stevenson for meals. We loved the informality and practicality.

My place is great for couples, adventurers, hikers, skiers, kayakers, golfers, sightseers, windsurfers, travelers, and families (with kids) visiting the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We are less than an hour from Mt Hood and Mt. Adams and several wineries including Maryhill winery and their museum. We are very close to the Skamania lodge resort and golf course. They offer a high ropes course and ziplines . Carson also has their famous hot springs and golf course.
This listing includes a master bedroom with attached private bathroom, as well as a living room with Direct TV/DVD capabilities. There is a shared kitchen which guests have access to. We offer guests a light breakfast with tea & coffee and free Wi-Fi. We have 3 separate listings which includes room for 5 guests. (Must book rooms separately.) There is an $8 fee for infants in this space. We provide a play n pack or mattress, sheets, blankets and toys if needed. (fee paid on arrival, not at time of booking).
Our neighborhood is a cul-de-sac that is on the backside of the Carson Hot Springs golf course and hot mineral springs. It is very quiet and peaceful.
  • Janet keeps a very clean house and provides very well for her guests. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at her house again and highly recommend her house.

    Craig2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Janet's place is clean, very comfortable, and quiet. The room(s) are separated from the main house by a large kitchen/family room, so there is excellent privacy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and between those, the quiet, and the country air, our sleep was restful and complete. Internet was decent, the town itself is lovely. We couldn't stay but there is a hot springs nearby and, I suspect, some good hiking. Recommended.

    Gary2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Janet was a fantastic host. She was able to accommodate us last minute and was very easy to communicate with. The room itself is great with a super comfortable bed. Would highly recommend staying here for anyone in the area!

  • nice comfortable stay. had a lot of local tips and even left chocolate treats for us when we arrived. would definitely come back

    Jenny2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Janet essentially runs a mini hotel in her house, one section with a living room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are sectioned off from her personal living space. Each door is marked for the guest that reserved it. The rooms are great, the space is nice and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the decor.

    David2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful house with a very good room for two. The hosts were great and we enjoyed our stay very much. We can highly recommend this place Michael and Ulla, DK

  • We had a great experience staying at Janet's place! Everything was exactly as described and it was in the perfect location for those wanting to check out Portland, Hood River, & Mount Hood. We would recommend staying here and would stay here again in the future. :)

    Amanda2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Janet’s house was wonderful! When we walked in there was a bowl of NW cherries, and when we found our room there were 2 chocolates on the bed! We had full use of the well-stocked kitchen (coffee, tea, oatmeal, granola bars, etc) and family room with a nice TV. Janet and Glen gave us helpful hints about hikes and waterfalls on the WA side of the gorge plus places to eat. We also enjoyed watching parasailing and windsurfing in Stevenson (a cute town with a great lunch spot called The Crossing). We enjoyed a free beer taster at Backwoods Brewery, complements of Janet and Glen (the food was also good there). This is a GREAT place to stay!

Private with own locking door (and a window). This frugal method of having access to comforts and conveniences is priced far less than a hostel (per bed) and is private! Enjoy the Gorge at the best pricing possible. This accommodation isn't meant to compete with 5 star hotels. The common areas have the feel of a hostel with guests playing ping pong or socializing in the kitchen. Simple and best value. Our house is BLUE! Please do not disturb the RED house ;-)
The area has an ethernet computer and secure queen size bottom bunk and a twin top bunk that accommodate a person up to 6'6" in height - as long as they can climb up to the top bunk ;-) There is a cooler in the room that we stock with ice bottles. It is the room near the laundry and half bath behind the wall mural of the kite boarding woman.
Fantastic Gorge views from atop Wind Mtn, a twenty minute hike with the trail head a 3 minute drive away. Neighbors are friendly and on minimum half acre lots. Our house is BLUE! Please do not disturb the RED house ;-)

  • We had a great stay at Jon’s place. Jon is definitely a super host! He was very generous and welcoming and gave us great recommendations for hikes in the area (Dog mountain trail is a must even in the snow!). Jon’s place has everything you could need and we would definitely recommend staying.

    Saman2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for exploring the Columbia River Gorge or if you're going to a function at the ranch down the road. Super quick responses and Jon and his team were kind enough to drop us down/ pick us up at an event we were attending nearby. Everyone was very welcoming - and we'd have stayed for breakfast if we didn't have to leave early. Recommended - will come again if we're in the area!

Our family homestead was recently remodeled using lumber from our land and the details and warmth in this space are more than welcoming. In addition to the remodel we updated the trusty “PUMPHOUSE" and turned it into a cozy tiny house. Complete with two beds-one twin, one single bunk, small counter with sink, lots of storage, outdoor hot & cold shower, 110v plug-in for vans, 360 degree epic views and a composting outhouse near by. This beautiful space is perfect for the quick - Gorge "get-away!"
Great for van camping! Plug in your van and take a break from the road. Hit the Hot Springs and sleep in a real bed and stretch your legs - you will be recharged for the next adventure!
There are hot springs near us that are accessible at your own risk! We do not own the springs and can not give express permission to access them. You do have permission to hike all our trails (again, at your own risk)...we even have a little trail map!
  • Beautiful place with amazing hiking and beauty. Close to everything the Gorge has to offer. Outstanding communication and very clean lodgings. Pump house is perfect and very well done. Nice touches and very cozy and comfortable.

  • It was an awesome experience staying at the pump house. The host came down to hook up the outdoor shower for me and the space heater worked really well. Would love to come again in the spring/summer to take advantage of the nearby hot springs.

    Tatyana2019-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a great property! We spent half the day exploring the river and beautiful trails on the land. The composting toilet and out door shower added some adventure that my 13 year old and I really got a kick out of. We ate at the backwoods brewing co. in Carson. We had good service and great pizza. We finished off the nite with a TV show using the WiFi. Was a great adventure and look forward to a return!

    Shane2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely WONDERFUL! This little spot has everything you could possibly need and so much more. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. Super cozy comforters- we planned to be freezing and were pleasantly surprised to be so warm at night. There are beautiful hikes on the property through dense greenery that lead to the river, streams and hot springs. One of the hosts came out to our spot and offered us fresh coffee in the morning. It was a dream to stay out here and a million times better than we expected. We will be back! Highly recommend!!!

In the bedroom are two USB chargers slots built into the plugin. The night lights are switchable, just press on them. UV treated drinking water.
We have one of the best views with the most private setting in the Gorge, Minutes from Wind and Dog Mountain hiking and many more. Enjoy!
  • This place was wonderful. 100% privacy from hosts. It was great and clean.

    Dan2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancee and I stayed here post-proposal. This was such an awesome place to relax and enjoy the views of the Gorge. The outside deck was wonderful to use and the tiny cottage itself was amazing and had all the amenities needed. Craig and Sheila were very helpful and communicative throughout the whole process. Will definitely be coming back!

    Ryan2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • My now husband and I booked the Tiny Cottage for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. We only stayed two nights, but it felt like much longer. It was quiet, with only the sounds of crickets and frogs surrounding us. Coming from the city, this is exactly what we wanted. The cottage was tiny, as advertised however we were impressed with the use of the space. It is small, but feels surprisingly large and comfortable. We absolutely LOVED IT and plan to go back each year for our anniversary.

    Janel2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far our favorite AirBnB. We stayed twice this year, enjoying it so much each time. We think Craig and Sheila ought get “Superhost” capes to wear, as they really are that great! Columbia River Gorge and the view from the Tiny Cottage are spectacular! Much to enjoy here!

    Kathy2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location. Peaceful, serene and simply wonderful in every way. The cabin is small but doesn't feel so because of the fantastic architecture and furnishings. You have everything you need right there. Personally for me the best part about it was the outdoor deck with the gas fire. Even on a chilly night you can sit outdoors with your favorite beverage and check out the sunset over the gorge. Can't wait to come and visit again one day. Craig is a true gent and accommodating in every way.

    Marek2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely tiny cottage in a lovely location. The cottage is described well, and the view is indeed fabulous. Even though the site is close in airmiles to all the busy infrastructure of the Colombia River gorge (interstate, railroads, highways, towns), it is quiet and peaceful, and the cottage is set so that the view includes only the trees, mountains and mighty Colombia River. There is good reason to call the area the Colombia Gorge National Scenic Area, because the scenery is world class. Even on the overcast and dreary day we were there, the scenery is still grand. The cottage is spic and span clean, and nicely appointed for a short stay (might be a little tight for a lengthy stay if you're used to a large house). Even the couch, which looked like it might be uncomfortable in the photos, was cozy and comfy, and the electric fireplace warmed the whole place efficiently and easily. The turkeys provided some chuckles as well! We had a lovely time in this lovely place!

    Sandra2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • such a beautiful place. I would recommend highly to any future guests. the bed was VERY comfortable, and the space felt much larger than I expected. definitely will stay again!

  • Great space and location for a weekend getaway. Very spacious for two, many outdoor hikes and trails within close driving distance away, and a beautiful view from our window. Does not have a full kitchen, so cooking is limited and not many restaurants in the area.

  • This was really fantastic. Great view. Silent, and a small deer has welcomed us.

  • This is a wonderful place to relax, get away from the bustle & noise of the city, with some wonderful views. The cabin was super cozy, clean, and thoughtfully outfitted, with an amazing view of the gorge mountains. It's nestled far back from the road (which hardly anyone uses) with some woods at the back, so, it was soooo quiet and peaceful. It was only 10-30 minutes to the fabulous hikes near White Salmon/Hood River, so, a great location if you are a hiker. Idyllic place!

    Anna2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and her family were great. Super helpful and communicative. The brand new cabin was perfect for the three of us and the views were utterly amazing. We absolutely loved staying here and are looking forward to returning!

  • Our stay was amazing! The cabin is extremely cozy, welcoming and felt like home. This cabin would be ideal for couples or families alike. Molly was great at communicating and had clear instructions. We can't wait to come back during winter months as well.

    Emilee2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin. Peaceful and quiet even with another cabin next door. A short drive to Stevenson and Carson. We didn't get it and hike, but there are a bunch of trails nearby. There was an electric griddle and outdoor propane grill for cooking since there isn't a stove. A/C was needed at the time of our stay and kept the cabin nice and cool. The cabin is on the same property as a wedding venue, but we're we're not there for one. Great family business and the hosts were very nice. We'll be staying here again!!

    Matthew2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I would come to stay here again any time! The pictures do not do the view of the gorge justice!

    L2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The photos of this darling cabin don't do it justice! The views are amazing and the cabin is lovely. I could sit out on the front porch for hours! The accommodations were quite comfortable and I would love to stay here again. Molly and her family were wonderful hosts and responded to all of our inquiries/questions immediately. This was worth the price.

  • The cabin is in a beautiful location and centrally located to everything we wanted to do in the area. We saw a deer outside our front door every day. We were a family of 4 and kids loved sleeping in the loft. While not a full kitchen, we took advantage of the gas grill and cooked in at night. We would definitely come back if in the area again.

    Pam2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is so cozy and the location picturesque. We fit five youngish adults comfortably. There was ample parking for multiple cars. Host communication was good. Check in was easy. There's no wifi and there's pretty weak cell service - this isn't a place to get work done, it's a place to get away. Close to downtown Stevenson WA and Hood River OR. One of the most beautiful areas on the planet.

    Joshua2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was just as the picture showed - darling, clean, and with a beautiful landscape out the front porch.

    Tami2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here was amazing to say the least. It far exceeded our expectations. Molly, Judy, and Gary were more than accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The cabin had everything we needed for a fun night, and a beautiful morning under the mountains around. Thank you!!!

    Brett2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin has a location that is unbelievable. We arrived from Pasco, WA with ease. Directions to get there and finding the cabin was a snap. Molly welcomed us shortly after arriving. Within our short visit we felt comfortable and welcomed. This cabin has it all! Comfy beds, a view that is breathtaking and close to various waterfalls and hiking trails. Our stay included hitting the waterfalls on the Historic Hwy 30 area in Oregon. And this cabin made us feel at home once we spent a good day out. My young boys didn't want to leave. We were greeted by deer in the evening and during our hike around the woods. We spent the evening playing games (provided in the cabin), listening to music (speakers also there in the cabin) and unplugging from Social Media. This family will be heading back soon. We fell in love with the location, atmosphere and amenities. Hot showers, coffee pot to get us going in the morning, a skillet to make my famous pancakes. We saved money not heading out to eat. But there is a local shop that delivers I think. Their menu was located in the cupboard. But once we decided to cook and not leave we knew we made the right decision. All we could talk about on the drive home was the wonderful time we had and how great it felt to stay in Dog Mtn Cabin.

This property is a 1300 square feet, 3 Bedroom, 2 bathroom accommodation located in Stevenson. Dog-friendly beachfront home on the river w/ private beach & stunning interior! offers 2 Twin bed, 1 Double beds, 1 Queen bed. It can host 6 people. This accommodation features washer/dryer. Please see the description below or inquire for more details!
On the Washington side of the Columbia River, Riverglen is one of the only waterfront homes within the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area. Riverglen has more than 200 feet of shoreline with coves and two rocky beaches (the larger of which is a perfect launch site for windsurfing and kiteboarding). You approach this home down a quarter-mile long lane that winds through tall firs and cedars. At the end of the lane is a parking area which is separated from the home by railroad tracks. [Because there are no nearby crossings, passing trains do not sound their horns, and a thick grove of trees helps make the sound barely noticeable.] A custom-built, steel footbridge will carry you over the tracks, and carts are kept at the parking area to help carry your things. Note: The bridge is wide, very safe and easy to negotiate, but the slope may challenge those with limited strength or breath (see photos). Riverglen's wraparound porch is just steps from the beaches, and from either entrance, beautiful hardwood floors lead you through the house and compliment the massive beams, creating a warm, inviting feel. The Greatroom's wraparound windows let you enjoy a 180-degree River view, and the stone, wood-burning fireplace will welcome you back from your day's adventures. An eating bar separates the complete cook's kitchen from the dining area which seats six. The main floor Master Suite offers a comfortable queen bed and has a walk-in closet. Its full bath is tiled in slate and has an inviting tub with shower, double sinks and a picture window. Washer and dryer are just across the hall, along with outdoor cushions and beach towels. Upstairs a large, welcoming sitting room holds a nice selection of games and some cozy spots to curl up and read or catch a nap. There's also a DVD (and VCR!) player with a fine collection of DVDs and some vintage VCR movies to browse through. You may want to totally unplug and read a book, too! A cozy bedroom down the hall has a full bed and French doors that open onto a private, River-view deck. The third bedroom features a stunning view from its large picture window. Here you'll find a full bed and a large executive desk, complete with wireless keyboard and a vintage leather chair. Write the next great American novel, or just gaze at the Gorge cliffs and sparkling River below! These bedrooms share an elegant, slate-tiled bath with walk-in shower and deep, step-up soaking tub. The picture window here offers a lovely western view of the Gorge with sunsets that turn the River crimson. But you won't want to just LOOK at the view -- get out in it!! Just out the back door to the left, a private beach is just steps away (it's rocky, so water shoes or sneakers are a must). To the right is a path that leads to a little cove with a small beach, and in between are gorge-eous, rocky outcroppings. The bigger beach has straight, unobstructed access to the river -- great for launching your kiteboard or whatever else you fly on [but please no motorized sports] You'll be a few miles west of the crowds that choose Hood River vacation rentals, and enjoy the same famous, spectacular Gorge winds. Of course, the view to the cliffs across the river might distract you, so go ahead and let the magic of this place take over! Roam the wooded, 6-acre grounds, but watch out for poison oak (info in the house notes). If you venture off the property, the town of Stevenson is less than 2 miles west, and the road to Carson (and on to the woodlands and waterfalls of the vast Gifford Pinchot National Forest) is at the flashing light. Head east to the Hood River bridge for all the sights on the Oregon side of the River, or go on out to Eastern Washington's celebrated wine country! The Columbia Gorge Appellation is one of 15 different regions, all producing award-winning wines, and supporting an active and growing group of outstanding wineries. Before you get there, stop off at Maryhill! This turn-of-the-twentieth-century mansion holds several interesting collections in its museum, and is also the site of Maryhill Winery. Its location on top of a high bluff gives it jaw-dropping views in all directions - take lots of pictures! Whatever you do, you'll want to be back in time for the glorious sunset -- toast your day and plan tomorrow's adventures. There's so much to do in the area, it won't be an easy choice - but you can't go wrong at Riverglen; it's a little slice of heaven!
  • This place was even better than we anticipated. We stayed with 2 other couples and spent the perfect birthday weekend in paradise mostly unplugged. The entire house and property has unbelievable views and the fireplace added so much coziness to our cold winter escape. I hope we can experience this stay again in warmer months some day. You won’t be disappointed with the kitchen amenities. Everything we needed was there.

    Mollie2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location couldn’t be better for what we wanted. It was like having the whole river view to ourselves and no sign of neighbors. We spent a winter weekend at the house and were snowed in. It was a beautiful spot to be snowbound. Do beware that the written description indicated 4 separate beds (a queen, a double, and 2 twins), which was perfect for our group of six (2 couples and 2 singles). After booking, we realized the photos didn’t support the description. There is a queen in the master and a double bed in each of the two other bedrooms. The common area upstairs can accommodate a blowup mattress, if you bring your own. And if you care about blowing your hair dry, throw in a hairdryer - the one provided didn’t function. And if you go for a winter getaway, bring enough wood to enjoy the fireplace during your stay. None is provided. The place was clean and tidy upon our arrival and the heat had been turned on in anticipation of our arrival - a nice welcoming touch. We had everything we needed to cook all our meals. The house is generally well equipped. From binoculars for watching the birds or river traffic to a plug and play speaker for music, we made ourselves right at home. There is great hiking and regional activities to be enjoyed regardless of the time of year.

  • Phenomenal location that was fun to get to. Yeah, if you're grossly out of shape may be a trek for you but was no problem for us. Views stellar, quiet, and train was not at all a bother. But home felt cold and not cozy. Beds were hard and uncomfortable and bedding was skimpy (too light) for a snowy winter day and sheets were scratchy. I can't believe that with such enormous bedrooms that you would only put a queen in one bedroom and 2 full size beds in the others. Queen is barely big enough for some couples, and a full size bed just won't cut it for most. Don't get me wrong - this place is amazing but if you are paying top dollar, the experience needs to be top-notch.

    Betsy2019-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a getaway to reset and enjoy nature, this is the place. The kitchen is set up for cooking and lots of stuff to keep you entertained. We played games, puzzled, laughed, and just enjoyed being present. It is a workout to get your stuff to the house from the car, so be prepared for that. Not bad next time I'll pack a little smarter. The private beach is amazing on a sunny day, so bring warm clothes so you can enjoy a cup of coffee while enjoying the view. We will be back for sure!!

    Lydia2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great Oasis on the Columbia! This was a great rental - the perfect balance between a comfortable home (you could tell this is a kitchen that gets cooked in - nice pans, large coffee mugs, ample cutlery and utensils) and a professional rental (super clean, nice towels and bedding, soap and shampoo provided). We were a family of 4 and had ample space, could've invited friends to join us. We enjoyed our time and look forward to staying again next summer when it is warm enough to dip our toes in the river!

  • We have a great time staying at wind river! Astrid and her crew and made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived! Everyone on the site is super friendly and willing to help! The location of wind river is perfect, it was easy to get to many different locations on the gorge. The beach across the street is stunning (we went every day we were there!) and the walk to get there is nice and relaxing. The apartment was clean and well furnished. We loved just sitting out on the huge front porch and enjoying the scenery and weather. We will definitely be back! We would HIGHLY recommend this space to anyone looking to stay in the gorge! It's a hidden gem :) . Thanks Astrid and crew for an amazing visit! We hope to see you again!

  • This is a great place to stay with friends or family, very clean and well equipped. We absolutely loved the sauna and hot tub. The vaulted ceilings and gorgeous fireplace give this home a modern lodge feeling that is so cozy and warm. Just make sure you read the directions not the (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps, as they point out in the instructions. Wifi was fine for streaming movies to the TV, but not much more. So here’s another vote for upgrading the speed. That said we were there to relax and not stare at devices the whole time :) And do check out the hikes behind Beacon Rock, beautiful waterfalls in late January!

  • Great stay! There were six of us and 3 dogs and the house was plenty big. Even though it was rainy/cold we had so much fun using the fireplace and hot tub. Also, hood river was a short drive away!

  • This place is a gem! Beautiful, inviting, tucked away and with all the necessities. We wish we could have stayed forever! Highly recommended and we can't wait to book it again.

  • If you are looking for a complete get away a short (and incredible) drive away from the major hub of PDX, look no further. This home offers exquisite accomodations for adults and children alike. It's location is a great landing spot to explore the Gorge, the adorable towns of Stevenson, White Salmon and Hood River, and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The hot tub and sauna were perfect escapes from the chill and rain that facilitate the beauty of the PNW. We had a wonderful stay, and found the hosts to be incredibly easy to communicate with, and it is clear that they put a lot of pride into their home. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

  • We had a wonderful time at the Gorge Retreat! Beautiful place. It was a very spacious set up. New everything! Very nicely themed and stylish rooms. Gorgeous view, despite the fog and clouds we had. We would definitely go back in the future!!!!

  • This home was so much more than we could have imagined! Breathtaking views, perfectly peaceful, vaulted ceilings everywhere, immaculate kitchen, very comfortable beds, crisp clean, above and beyond touches. Cooking and entertaining in the kitchen/open concept great room was heaven. We brought our own games but also enjoyed playing the games provided at the home. T.V. worked great, even in the blizzard, Netflix, Hulu, etc. All in all we made a promise to come back and enjoy this house in the summer. Only tough part was the price tag. Pretty spendy for a two night minimum but it was perfection so I get it.

Our incredible homestead nestled in the woods is the perfect place to make memories. Make it intimate or bring a group for a getaway in the Gorge. Step outside for a walk in the woods or along the river where peace and beauty will surround you. During the summer, hot springs, trails and rivers are all right here! The winter brings great opportunities for taking an authentic Finnish sauna after watching the salmon spawning on the river as well as possibilities for local winter sports in the area.
Our family homestead was recently remodeled using lumber from our land and the details and warmth in this space are more than welcoming. The kitchen and dining room allow even large groups to be accommodated easily. Plenty of living spaces invite you around the house. The dorm style sleeping arrangements are fun and functional, especially for families. Many breweries and wineries are located within a short drive. Hiking trails are plenty in this area of the Gorge and Mt.Hood is less than an hour away. You will also have access to natural hot springs along the river. Weddings are possible on the property with a couple stipulations. Events must be outside only, additional fees for port-a-potty rentals and venue use.
This is on a large private piece of land that has been in our family for nearly 150 years! All the trails and sections of the river that are walking distance are private and can be enjoyed during your stay. Please use all trails and swim at your own risk.
  • Beautiful location, and a beautiful home!

    Claudia2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at this house. What a perfect place for a weekend retreat in the woods. Walked down to the salmon creek where salmon was all around. The porch is great for relaxing in the evening sun. Kitchen is perfect for cooking a dinner. Would definitely recommend this place!

  • Our group had a great time at this gem of a gorge-getaway. The house is funky and fun, and was perfect for our large group gathering. All 10 of us were able to eat together on the great big table, and sit around the fire in the sunken space in the living room. Faith was warm and welcoming, super communicative, and easy to work with on our plans. There was a little hiccup with the water pump, and she was right on the case to address it. Definitely recommended for families or large groups.

    Mary2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • All my anticipation for staying at this amazing hideaway in the woods was well founded right upon our arrival. We arrived late after dark and Faith was very accommodating to our arrival. In the morning upon sunrise we were greeted with the most amazing forest setting. Everything in the house is well stocked to prepare a large country breakfast for a big family if needed. My little girls loved sharing their breakfast with the bunnies outdoors that came by for a visit and a morning snack on the green grass outside the deck. An amazing nearby river and private natural hot springs soaking pool is situated literally next to the running river with salmon jumping out of it. The body of 110 degree water is simply separated by a man-made barrier wall of surrounding rocks adjacent to cold running river water and is the perfect setting if you like a little adventurous hike away from the property. Coming from Southern California we were concerned with the cold evenings, but as Faith had promised, the cabin was well insulated from the cold. Add to that warm comforters on the beds and a nice fire we had going in the central fire place, with abundant firewood ready chopped, it was a perfect fall setting in the woods. The caretaker of the property was a very friendly and outgoing "outdoorsy surfer dude" made sure we had the lay of the land and proper directions if we decided to explore the surroundings on foot. Thank you Faith for an amazing chance to get away from the city. We are looking for a reason to come back soon.

My place is good for couples, adventurers, business travelers, skiers, wind surfers, kayakers and families. This listing is for one bedroom with a queen size bed and the bathroom (sometimes shared) is across the hall. There is a living room and shared kitchen space. We are surrounded by beautiful hikes and waterfalls. On the edge of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, yet minutes away from golf, kiteboarding, wind surfing, hunting and fishing. The master has its own private entrance & bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, a queen size bed, a queen size futon couch that folds down to a bed, a fridge & microwave. The shared common areas of the house (kitchen, living room, etc) has the feel of a hostel, with guests playing ping pong and socializing in the kitchen. Our house is BLUE! Please do not disturb the RED house ;-)
Measuring 16'x16', the master sleeps 4, there is a semi private alcove that sleeps two. The private entrance has a fantastic view and a patio table and chairs. The room has a 31" lcd screen with dvd and internet connection for viewing. While our overall lifestyle is rugged and rustic, the master bedroom is our most luxurious accommodation.
Our neighborhood is on the edge of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and we regulary see wildlife. The home lots in the area are minimum half acre, so the friendly neighborhood is also quiet and secluded. Wind Mountain is a short hike from out front door to the peak with fantastic Gorge views.
  • Jon was a very gracious host and eager to please. He was easy to communicate with & the accommodations match the description. The location is gorgeous, with great views from the patio. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Shweta2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The tub was huge! This was definitely a perk for someone who needed to relax after a long day of travel. Jon was not home, but that was totally cool with us. Communication was solid, we had no worries about check in or anything else we needed. He was thoughtful and made things easy for us. We could not be more pleased.

  • Great communication with the host. The master room was spacious for 2 adults and 2 children. It has a nice restroom with a shower and a jet tub.

  • Beautiful and secluded spot close to the Cascades and very easy jump to or from Portland. We wanted a quiet night away from Portland and we got it. Loved the tub in the en-suite and the view from our bedroom deck was gorgeous. We had the option to be social with other guests or self-sufficient in our room which was the best of both worlds for us as we had our 3 year old and he wanted interaction and got it! Lots of quiet local attractions which made for a very pleasant overnight getaway.

  • Jon's master bedroom was very comfortable! The house was well set up. our favorite part was having coffee on the back private patio. He's a good communicator and lives in a beautiful area close to the cute town of Stevenson!

The incredible four-poster, king size bed made from reclaimed timber dressed with the finest linens sets the stage for one special experience at our Columbia Gorge inn. The carefully placed decorations reminiscent of a hunting lodge are as inviting as they are interesting. The view is amazing, the bed is heavenly, the jacuzzi tub is just what you need, the fireplace is mesmerizing and the front porch swing is calling your name. Indulge yourself in our luxury cabins in Washington state!
  • From the in room jacuzzi to the massive comfortable king bed with pillow made for an amazing relaxing getaway. Highly recommend staying in this luxury cabin. The hosts are overly accommodating and send you off with some amazing homemade treats when you depart. The rooms come with wine and beer stocked for purchase as well. Very central to everything you would need to do in Carson!

  • We are a family of four (with two young boys) and we stayed over Christmas. It couldn’t have been more perfect! Molly was an excellent host, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. We kept in mind another review when grocery shopping and just made sure we could cook everything on the griddle provided, since there is no cook stove, but had no problem feeding everyone. It felt secluded without being too isolated, and when it snowed the hosts offered us snow sleds etc. for us to play with, as well as driving directions when requested with a very fast response. Our kids said it was the best Christmas ever, and my husband and I agree! We would definitely return, and have thought it would be fun to rent out all three cabins with friends/family for a trip together.

  • If you want to experience the beauty of the Columbia river gorge, you have to come here. Not only was the cabin spacious for 5, but it was clean and very homey. We were driving back in the middle of the night and stumbled on a heard of Elk grazing the field where we were staying. There is so much going on around this property and it is just a fantastic place to relax and have a more than exceptional time. Would come again and recommend anyone that they are getting a steal for the value of this location.

  • Great simple (new & modern) cabin in the perfect location to enjoy the great hiking in the Columbia River Gorge! This was our 2nd stay and plan to return for a longer time. If you are hiker there is no better location to access the great flower displays on Dog Mtn. or even longer late season hiking in the Trapper Creek or Indian Heaven Wilderness.
