The garden bedroom, situated at the rear of our 1948 home, is a perfect place to enjoy or retreat from the city. Centrally located in a charming, peacock-filled neighborhood, we are just a short bike ride or drive from many of Austin's best eateries, bars, parks and venues.
Comfortable and private, the garden bedroom is ideal for a long weekend or festival stay. It features a private closet, a full-sized bed and a lovely view of the backyard.
There are so many things to love about our neighborhood. Not only are we super close to great parkland, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, food trailers and vintage shops, we're surrounded by huge live oaks and peacocks! The neighbors are open and friendly and have made us feel welcome from the start. Some of our favorite places include Skylark Lounge, Contigo, Dai Due, Sugar Mama's, Coldtowne Theater, The Work Horse, Foreign and Domestic, Drink Well, Kome, Tyson's Tacos, Room Service Vintage, Uptown Modern, Michi Ramen, Big Bertha's and Lucy's Fried Chicken. We also really dig our backyard patio and grill, and we think you will, too.
  • Erin is a wonderful host! She welcomed us when we first arrive late in the evening and gave us suggestions in where to eat and some local areas around Austin. The neighborhood was super cool as you can see peacocks, chickens and stray cats roaming around. Very quiet despite being next to the freeway. Everything was relatively in a good distance away.

    Julia2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Erin’s place was absolutely perfect, the whole house was beautiful and clean and very close to Austin downtown. There’s plenty of things to do in walking distance and also with super easy access into downtown Austin whilst still staying away from the hustle and bustle. Erin as a host was more than accommodating, she made us feel so at home and encouraged us to use the whole house whenever we needed to. She gave us more than enough tips that we actually ran out of time before completing everything she had told us to do. The things she suggested too were very authentic to Texas and Austin so it was incredible helpful for us to be able to experience Austin properly. I would 100% recommend staying in this home, you really won’t regret it!

  • Erin's home is in a great location! Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again if we come back to Austin! Her dogs are very well behaved and super friendly. She was very helpful with suggestions on both places to eat and nightlife.

  • My friend and I stayed at Erin's place for 3 nights and we loved her place. It's not far from the city and there's a lot of space to park if u have a car. Erin was really friendly. She suggested us many places to go and eat. We will definitely recommend her place!

  • I loved the cottage! It was very clean, comfortable, and in an amazing neighborhood- I wish I had more time to explore. There was a boil water notice in Austin and Dan left me several liters of water that he had boiled and filtered!

  • A great place to relax.

    Vitaliy2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The details of the place definitely suggest its run by some really, really cool people. I thought the location was fine and everything was really comfortable. A freak cold snap meant I had to break out the space heaters because there was no heating, which was probably a rare occurrence - but man was I glad there were space heaters in the closets :)

    Michael2019-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cozy and just as advertised! We had a short, but great stay and would stay again. The VCR and tapes were cool, if we had more time, we probably would have watched one or two!

  • Breathe of fresh air. Loved the interior design and furniture. Very cute, warm and cozy. Loved it

    Divya2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, the room is very spacious and has a great sized restroom. Cutest little touches in the space (claw tub in garden full of flowers, lights in the backyard, bookshelf full of books). Very quiet neighboorhood with close proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, UT campus. Walking distance to Cherrywood Coffee shop. Best airbnb experience I've had, by far!

  • Janine’s guest house was perfect for a getaway weekend in Austin. There were beers and the refrigerator waiting for us on arrival, as well as plenty of coffee and tea for the morning. The location is great, about $3 Lyft ride to downtown, and there is a delicious coffee shop and deli around the block. Highly recommend!

    Abby2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The entire experience was absolutely great. The space is perfect for an individual or a couple. It has an artsy edge to it and a beautiful rustic bathroom and little kitchen. The location is in the heart of a really cute neighborhood called Cherrywood, which is 2 exists from downtown Austin. Everything you could possibly need is in this area by either walking or within short driving distance. Take a quick walk to The Cherrywood coffee house, which has excellent food, and monarch convention store right next door to coffee house for good wine or what have you. Janine is an EXCELLENT host! Incredibly fast and responsive, and makes you feel completely at home, along with being incredibly informative with things to do in Austin. The next time I come to Austin, I will definitely be booking with Janine again.

I can't agree more with what they said in thire introduction that meeting new people is an important part of a travel, this is a bridge to understand a city and culture . We are also early risers,so we can communicate before we do our own things. We really enjoyed our time with Katherine and Nick.

  • Steve's family backyard cottage is ONLY the coolest place in Austin to stay. If you're waffling looking at other places, forget about it and pick Steve's killer secluded space complete with hammock, soft, thick towels, bathmats, area rugs, desk area, windows offering plenty of light but shades for privacy. . cool orange tabby cats keeping lazy watch over the place, not to mention Steve and his family are very welcoming and the cottage itself made me say "I want a place like this when I'm a grown-up!" Thanks Steve, et al!

  • Steve was awesome! Our car broke down the morning we were heading out to New Orleans, he let us hang around longer until the mechanics fixed it and gave my boyfriend a ride to pick up the car when it was fixed. Not to mention he had a great list of restaurants and activities for us to check out while we were in town. Thanks a million Steve!

Welcome to this colorful & eclectic bungalow in the heart of the Cherrywood neighborhood in East Austin! You will find lots of privacy because this room is located at the back of the house on the upper floor with a private entrance. Feel free to enjoy the rest of the house’s upcycled decor and cozy living room. You'll have full access to the kitchen if you want to cook some meals, have a snack, or enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. Enjoy your meal inside in the dining area or in the normally fabulous Austin weather with our outdoor area; a shady landscaped front yard with comfortable seating & tables. You'll also have access to a washer & dryer as well. We also offer free WiFi if you need to get some work done.
I call this neighborhood the "Park Slope" of Austin. Cool neighborhood with lots of families and fun neighbors. Cherrywood is a very safe and quiet neighborhood. It is nestled off of the freeway there are lots of old trees. Lots of walkers, joggers, bicyclers, families out for a day/night-time stroll. We are really close to the Manor Rd. area of Austin which is filled with critically-acclaimed local restaurants & coffee shops. There is a Fiesta grocery store within walking distance which has an amazing international foods section, and an HEB just across the highway. Cherrwood Coffeehouse is two blocks away on 38 1/2. They have amazing breakfast tacos. Continue east another mile east and the amazing restaurant with acclaimed cocktails, Contigo, will be on your right. Manor Road is where you will find pubs like Haymaker, cocktail bars like Butterfly Bar, award-winning food trailers like Patrizis and critically-acclaimed restaurants like Dai Due, Hoover's Home Cooking and Sugar Mama's Bakery.
  • Hannah was home when we arrived and had left plenty of instructions and notes all over the house as she was planning to head out and we were behind schedule. Hannah is a very cool lady; relaxed, welcoming, funny and her home is charming. We felt comfortable straight away and loved her remodelling of a typical bungalow into a very spacious and trendy abode. Great coffee in the morning and a fantastic list of eateries in the area and close by (big points in our books) ready for us to explore. The 22 bus will take you from Manor rd (a five minute walk away) right into town. Great coffee round the corner at Cherrywood and the other direction to Thunderbird. If you can't wait in line at Franklins head to La BBQ for excellent fare. Hannah's place is a cosy treat and the upper room is truly a treehouse experience!

  • This room was great. The area was private and cozy, just what I needed for a working weekend. Hannah was supper friendly and helpful. I totally recommend staying here.

  • Great sense of details! Felt very at home in this lovely place. Hannah wasn't there unfortunately, I'd love to meet her, so we had the entire house for ourselves. Clean, comfortable, everything we needed and more for a great visit in Austin.

  • Hannah was a thoughtful and helpful host. The house and room were spacious and peaceful. When I managed to miscalculate how many days I was staying, Hannah let me stay on an extra night, which I appreciated a lot. I also received occasional results of Hannah's baking experiments - a delightful bonus!

    Alexander2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's house was one of the cutest we've ever seen. I want to hire her to decorate mine someday! The room is adorable, quiet, and cozy. The location is great - close to several good restaurants and in a nice, leafy, walkable neighborhood. And it's a great deal!

  • I really enjoyed staying with Carol and Darrell! It actually felt just like staying with easy-going relatives. Their house is in a green, lush neighborhood a bit north of the city center (there is a highway close-by though, so you don't quite get the out-of-city calm). Carol had a bike, helmet, lights, pump, and lock ready for me to use, and that was absolutely wonderful. It's just a 20 minute cycle into the liveliest parts of the city, and Austin has a pretty good system of bike trails (and (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps routes you along them). I ended up exploring Austin by bike, which has a lot of charm by itself, and also didn't need to use a bus or Uber even once!

    Benedict2016-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a friendly and professional host and really made us feel welcome in her home. It was a perfect base for our Austin visit, and she provided lots of local information. We really appreciated the breakfast and the access to the kitchen. The room was very comfortable. The location was very central to all our activities.

Yes, there is a shower with hot water and a flushing toilet inside the bus!
Walking distance to several bars, coffee shops, restaurants, theaters, and a grocery on Manor Rd and throughout the Cherrywood neighborhood.
  • L’endroit est très mignon, agréable et calme. Le bus est très bien pensé il y a tout le nécessaire et c’est très propre ! Très bien placé pour visiter Austin et Benjamin est très agréable !

  • Very cute spot tucked in a quiet corner of East Austin - very close to a lot of cool bars and restaurants. Exactly what you could expect from staying in a renovated school bus. If you like 5 Star hotels maybe go somewhere else*. The backyard that the bus is in is super cute. If you meet the dog he's super friendly/playful. *Some other reviews mentioned awful odors coming from the septic tank. Although worried that might be the case for our stay, we didn't find this to be an issue at all. But maybe if you're worried then bring air freshener for when you use the restroom b/c it is a small space.

    Liana2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was a great host and was very responsive to questions. The bus was a unique experience in a really up and coming part of Austin. The bus is walking distance (0.5 miles) to a lot of interesting bars and restaurants. The only difficulties we encountered were cooking (the space is pretty tight to practically make a dinner) and after the first day you could smell the toilet holding tank. All and all a great experience that we will always remember.

  • I had a great time staying on the bus, and Benjamin was very responsive to all of my questions and small requests. The location is close to downtown, but quiet. You can actually see the stars pretty well from the back yard. Even though the weather was pretty cold each night, it wasn't hard to stay comfortable with socks and a sweater handy. It was plenty warm in the bed, and the hot water and stove worked great. I liked this place a lot!

    Steve2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • this stay was great! ben was very available and communicative. the bus was comfortable and had everything we needed. the location in Austin is AMAZING--close to downtown and lots of great places within walking distance. loved it!

    Krista2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a very nice and unique place to stay. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay near Austin I'd definitely suggest this. Benjamin told us that he renovated the bus himself which the longer I looked at it the more impressed I was because of how extensive the renovation was. I will say though if your taller than about 5'11" be warned you won't be able to stand all the way up right. Having said that I am 6'2" and it wasn't that big of an inconvenience I would still go again if I return to Austin.

    Hunter2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay! Definitely don't recommend for tall folks as it is a bus. Also don't recommend for anyone who needs a ton of bathroom privacy if you staying in the bus with someone else. But for my boyfriend and I, we loved it!! Complete with the yard full of chickens!

    Carissa2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the bus for a few days was a really cool experience! Really glad I did it instead of staying in a more "traditional" place. Everything worked great, and I enjoyed the fire pit and the surprisingly hot water from the shower. It did, however, get a little chilly at night even with the heater running. I had my car with me, so parking was easy and the bus is located in a pretty centrally within the city so I never had to drive too far to get anywhere.

The room is a large master bedroom with queen sized bed and memory foam mattress, a love seat, a table and chairs, walk in closet, mini-fridge and coffee accoutrements. Super clean, private and relaxing, a newly built space with a private entrance, stained concrete floors, full bath and it's own patio right out the back door. Located in the historic Cherrywood neighborhood, cute and quiet, but walking distance to Manor Road and all the tacos and coffee your heart desires.
Our house is in the historic 'Duplex Nation' area of Cherrywood, which is a bunch of colorful, 1920's two-story duplexes. The neighborhood is full of big trees, walkable, and generally populated with grad students, young families, and artists who have converted their free standing garages into little studios. It's centrally located, with good access to Mueller (which has grocery stores, a park and a really cool children's museum called The Thinkery), Northloop (cool bars, chill vibe), Downtown (hustle, bustle) and east sixth (cool-guy stuff like live music and fancy coffee).
  • The place was nice and perfect for my weekend ! Quite neighborhood , quick access to freeway , and communication with host was great . Would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a place to stay .

  • My stay at the Fantastic Master Suite was great! It is exactly as listed and very clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on! The Suite is located in a very quiet, residential neighborhood, but only a short drive to many of the offerings of Austin. Eva also has a fantastic book of suggestions and information!

    Lindy2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Eva's room is just as pictured. A sweet, cozy spot to have as a home base during an Austin trip. We didn't spend much time there, so the one-room layout was just what we needed. Eva was prompt to respond and even let us know that the room was ready for check-in earlier than expected, which was great. Would definitely stay here again!

    Camila2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Discrete and easy host. Emailed all information needed and responded quickly to a couple of questions I had.

  • Our stay at Eva’s place was great. The suite was very cozy and clean, and Eva provided a binder with tons of useful information about Austin. We also really appreciated how responsive and accommodating Eva was when we requested an early check-in.

Stay in one of Austin’s most iconic neighborhoods, Hyde Park. Enjoy the tree-lined streets and suburban type feel in the heart of Austin. Walk to great spots like Hyde Park Bar & Grill, Mother’s Cafe, Hopdoddy, & many more. Conveniently located 5 minutes from University of Texas 10 minutes from Downtown and the Domain Easy access to I-35 and Mopac allowing quick travel to anywhere within Austin.
Enjoy this spacious bedroom with a comfortable King mattress and large, sunlight bathroom. Store all your belongings in the double-door closet and utilize the desk for any of your needs. The living room contains two large couches, a 50" TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu, ESPN, and other channels. The dining room, large balcony and spacious kitchen are available at all times.
In Hyde Park, you’re more likely to encounter articulate residents and local bakeries than noisy crowds and raucous bars. Small-town charm emanates from Hyde Park’s coffee shops and markets, and the neighborhood’s historic homes, well-tended lawns, and tree-shaded streets all contribute to its inviting walkability. Getting to Downtown requires a quick ride via bike or public transit—luckily Hyde Park is served by multiple MetroBus lines.
  • John’s place was awesome! It was in an incredibly safe location and was central to Austin, very good location to get around to downtown and to north Austin. The room and bathroom were incredibly clean and I especially loved the kind sized bed and the extra blankets and pillows that were provided. The bathroom was huge with 2 sinks and was very tidy. The shared spaces were also kept sparkling clean as well, so it was an amazing place to stay! Definitely recommend it, and would definitely stay here in the future again!

  • This was a very nice place. Clean, neat and comfortable. John was easy to get a hold of and answered all my questions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you!

East-central guest bedroom in the charming Cherrywood neighborhood. Directly across the street from grocery shopping and an amazing coffeeshop. Street parking. Less than 1 block to bus stop, 15 min bus ride to downtown or UT campus.
I welcome you to come spend the night in a cute 1940s home! Bonus: cute cats! I prefer not to host more than 2 guests at a time because there is only 1 bathroom.
Cherrywood is a rapidly growing neighborhood. Older homes and lovely trees. Close to UT. Nearby attractions include: theaters (The Vortex), restaurants/coffeeshops/bars (Cherrywood Coffeeshop, Thunderbird, Dai Due, Sugar Mama's, Hoover's, The Wheel, Juiceland, Butterfly Bar, Salty Sow, School House Pub, Haymaker, Contigo), an amazing local & zero packaging shop, In.gredients, and Mueller park with a farmer's market on Sundays.
  • Ashley was great throughout the process and very accommodating and helpful. The room is spacious and the neighborhood great for access to restaurants and UT. Had a great stay and Ashley and the gang are all awesome, especially the furry friends. Definitely recommend!

    Burch2015-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great for ACL (took uber to the free shuttle). Bed was comfy and Shula, Ashley and Philip's Australian Shepherd, was definitely a bonus! Definitely stop by Cherrywood Coffeehouse behind their house for breakfast paired with a delicious smoothie.

  • Me and my mom stayed at Ashley and Philip's place for 4 nights. They are easy to communicate and a easy going couple. My mom loves to cook so they made kitchen available and a dining table for us as well. Though the room that we stayed in was pretty cold, maybe summer would be a better experience..the bathroom is clean and the decorations at this place are fascinating that we are just couldn't take our eyes off. We enjoyed Shula and two other cats company, :) Overall we had a really great time at Ashley and Philip's place.

  • My staying in the Ashley house was wonderful experience. It was my first airbnb experience. She is a very kind person as well all her friends that I met in Austin. I could not imagine a better place where I could be. The room is very big, wi-fi is perfectly working, the bed surprisingly comfortable and the house is elegant and really clean. Position of her house is magnificent, it is close to University: 25 minutes by a nice walk or 10 minutes by bus that often and punctually passes almost in front of the house. Center of the city is in 15 minutes by bus. There is a 24h big-market close to the house where I could find everything I needed. Moreover I have been sometime evening in a nice coffee bar-restaurant close to the house where there was free wi-fi, nice people and delicious foods. I strongly recommend this place for long as well for short period in Austin.

Quak's 43rd Street Bakery Quack's is definitely one of the favorite neighborhood establishments! Their pastry and sweets selection is hard to beat, their cakes are some of the best in Austin, and they have a wide selection of vegan-friendly options. Show up early or late for their mind-inspiring energy-boosting coffee. Bring your laptop and enjoy. After 6pm, all of their breakfast pastries are half off. So show up a little after 6pm to pick up some treats for the next day. Even though they're a day old, they are still so incredibly delicious. Quak's: highly recommended for all of your caffeine and sugar cravings. • Don't even. No WiFi. No TV signal. No response from host. I guess you could read -- Oh wait, light bulbs burned out. Smelly, stiff towels. Terrible location with no direct access to major roads although adjacent to busy highway (loud). Maybe book if you just need a bed for a night but sleeping in your car might be a better option. GROSSLY OVERPRICED for marginal accommodations. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

    Toni2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Regina's place was perfect and I definitely plan on staying here again next time I'm in Austin. The bungalow was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, private. Access was very easy and Regina was always fast to respond to questions. The location is perfect - quiet neighborhood, but close to all of the major points of interest. As a side note, one of the reviewers below mentioned something about the neighborhood being "up and coming." This is nonsense. I lived in Austin for 5 years and can confirm that the neighborhood is super safe and has been this way for many years.

    Gene2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • regina's place was perfect for our stay! everything you would need was available! i'd love to stay here again. she was also super sweet about us checking in as we had a ton of trouble with traffic getting to austin. also the neighborhood was super cute!

Our studio apartment in our renovated Austin bungalow is ready for guests! It sleeps 2 adults comfortably and is great for a family with kids as well.
Elwood Studio is located minutes from downtown Austin, the University of Texas, and provides great access to everything the city has to offer. We're minutes from Red River, East 6th St., the "drag", and right in the heart of Austin's vibrant and dynamic east side. Be close to everything this energetic city has to offer - live music, delicious food, tasty drinks, green parks, sunny festivals, events and all Longhorn sports. Accommodations include a queen size bed and a full size futon in the living area that folds down into the 2nd bed. The kitchen includes cooktop, microwave and refrigerator, while the bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower. Perfect for a couple but sleeps 4 comfortably.
Our neighborhood is quiet, despite its proximity to I-35; it’s within walking distance to the Mueller development with it’s shops and restaurants.
  • Clean, comfortable, and close to many restaurants and shops. It’s located in an older neighborhood with beautiful trees just off of I-35.

    Melissa2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice and quiet neighborhood. The studio has clean lines. We just loved the shower! It's easy to get in and out of the neighborhood. A short distance to Austin's city center. There is free Wifi available however you need to bring a laptop or tablet as there is not a TV in the studio. We were out and about so it wasn't quite a hardship but at the end of the day it would have been nice to wind down with the news of the day. Overall it is a very nice place to stay.

Studio Apartment for rent just 3 miles north of downtown. It takes anywhere between 5 to 10 min drive to downtown. Quiet place, no fuss, perfect cave to relax and enjoy your time in Austin. Check out Airbnb's description of my neighborhood.
Studio apartment is cozy, quiet, and clean. About a 5-10 min drive to downtown. Buses to Zilker/ ACL take about 15-20 mins.
Hyde Park is very quiet, with nice bars and neighborhood mom and pop shops srpinkled around. Try heading to 45th and Duval and walk south from there. You'll find a dessert bar, some restaurants, gelatto shop, and an Italian restaurant. There's also a lot going on on Airport boulevard. There you'll find Tyson's Tacos, Bullfight (Spanish food), Bun Belly (Vietnamese), Kome (Japanese), Casey's New Orleans Snowballs (amazing shaved ice, but only open from March to late September), Ms. Johnson's Bakery (Donuts), I Luv Video (vintage, nostalgic video rental store), Coldtowne Theatre (comedy bar)... Check it all out!
  • This is a great studio space. It's quiet, with easy access to most places you'd want to go in Austin. JP is a courteous and communicative host. The bed and pillows are VERY comfortable. It's a great value to get the whole place to yourself. The outside looks sketchy, but my husband and I felt comfortable throughout our stay. Some things to note that may be important to you: The shower pressure was weak, the bed is low (but oh so comfortable), there's some mold on the shower ceiling, there's a strong food smell- I think from a neighbor apartment (I'm sensitive to smells, so this bothered me). Even so, my husband and I enjoyed our stay.

    Daniela2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jp's studio may be humble, but we had a wonderful stay there. He is quick and easy to communicate with, responding to any messages within an hour and sending us great recommendations whenever we asked. It's cozy, romantic, and stylishly decorated with evidence of his travels and personal taste. It is definitely a home-share, so don't come with hotel-like expectations, but he went above and beyond to make us comfortable. His welcome tray was a kind touch. We were able to walk to Hyde Park shops, bars and restaurants and everything else (including the airport) was less than 20 minute lyft away. Loved the N64, the Chromecast, and his excellent selection of books. Great price for two people who don't mind a homey touch. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great value for having the place all to yourself. This place is very close to everything; UT campus, Downtown, 6th street and the I-35. I'd definitely stay at JP's again.

  • This was perfect for my 5 day stay in Austin. The studio apartment is clean and well kept. Although the apartment complex looks rough on the outside, the inside of the apartment is perfectly fine and was a pleasure to stay in. If you love In N Out burgers, there is one about a football field distance away. I would recommend this apartment for one or two persons at the most. JP was very helpful in a answering all my questions. Even though he was not there to greet me, it was very easy to communicate with via messages and he was quick to respond.

  • I don't think you will ever find a better AirBnB host. JP was extremely fast at responding, he gave me tons of tips for local places (shops, bars, and restaurants), the apartment is very tidy and cozy, it has a really comfortable bed and pillows, and he even left complimentary vegan snacks that were delicious. Next time I visit Austin I will definitely try to stay here again. Don't look any further for an AirBnB, you will not find a better one given the price and hospitality!

    Kimberly2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • JP is super caring and considerate. Had fresh almond butter for us and even left a couple bottles of water. 10/10, would recommend

  • Airbnb asked in the review: "Was anything extra special?" and Chanel and Eric went above and beyond in all the categories Airbnb asked about. They were on top of everything from check in to departure, they were super friendly, the space was put together with lots of care, and they were chock full of great suggestions, Also the set up of having the Airbnb in the cottage house (I think it's called?) was comfortable and private so it's something I'll be looking for in my stays elsewhere. Thank you again Chanel and Eric!

  • So peaceful and calm. Well appointed and hope to return. A quiet little private nest.

  • Stylish, comfortable and quiet, this is a great place to stay in Austin. We really enjoyed being close to everything via a short car ride, yet just outside of the action. Highly recommended.

  • Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved staying with Chanel. She went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. The place was super clean and stylish and is located in the perfect place. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in Austin.

  • We chose Kristen and Bryan's AirBnB because they assured us that we could smoke at the pool. We're a group of about 10 that take an annual vacation in October every year (10th year!). The only things we do on this vacation are smoke cigars and play cards. Bryan and Kristin assured us that the property allowed smoking at the pool area but the first night an armed security office told us the entire property was non-smoking. Both myself and another member of the group wrote to the hosts through AirBnB and through text and neither of us received a reply. The non-smoking issue completely ruined our vacation. We would never have stayed here, and it's possible we wouldn't even have traveled to Austin if we knew we wouldn't be able to smoke.

    Matthew2018-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen and Bryan’s place is a cute modern 2bd/2ba in a sleek complex building. The space is huge, convenient to downtown, and the owners are quick to respond!

  • It was a nice place. 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms. Close (quick Uber/Lyft) to city center. Easy check-in/check-out.

    Scott2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment. It is very spacious. The beds are great. It was too cold to use the pool. Maybe next time. Great parking and check in and check out. We will definitely stay here again!

  • The location was amazing and the place was awesome! Very easy check in, with excellent instructions. The apartment was clean. Parking was easy. We loved the large table.

    Eduque912018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen and Bryan were very responsive to our needs. When we arrived and spotted a roach lurking, they came by with spray to help. I definitely think the place could use a treatment to make sure future guests don’t have to deal with any, but the place overall was cute and met our needs for the weekend.

    Stephanie2018-11-18T00:00:00Z

  • Kristen and Bryan's place was the PERFECT spot for a night on the town. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Austin area or a local just wanting to enjoy the nightlife and be in close proximity to lay your head down afterwards. I loved the homey feel and the cleaniness of the apartment.

  • This was a great place to stay for a week while I was in Austin for work. The apartment was spacious with everything I needed. I loved having a gym downstairs in the complex. Parking was easy to find every day. It’s pretty centrally located, right off I-35. Thanks for a good stay!

    Kristen2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nice. There was a bit of a mix up at the beginning as the keys were not in the lock box, so Bryan came and gave us a new place. He was helpful. The new place was nice. It had a very hotel feel and the furniture was done as if by an interior designer (very comfy couch and chairs!) I guess I am used to staying in more "homey" type places, so they have more hangars (he did bring me some but not that many), and also the last place I stayed, maybe I was spoiled, but there was coffee and tea bags and there was no dish washer pods. Overall it was a good stay for the price. The pool was very nice. Sadly, it was raining the whole time I was in Austin, so I did not get to use it. If you are visiting UT Texas it is a good place to stay. The hallway did have a strange smell, but that may be the cleaning products they use in the building. It is close to downtown. The kitchen was very nice. It was strange but most restaurants in the are seem to close in the middle of the day for food, so when we tried to order seamless if was hard to find anything open at like 6. Overall, fine stay and I would recommend this place.

    Justine2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is really close to downtown. It was really clean. I ask Bryan if we could do a late check out and he didn’t hesitate in telling it was not a problem. I recommend this place.

Enjoy eating in the bright dining room while listening to a record or outside on the patio, we have amazing weather (almost) year round. I'm often cooking and would be happy to have you join me. :) The house has WiFi for any work needs.
  • Janice was an amazing host and her place feels straight out of a magazine. She had lovely little touches everywhere and it was very easy to either come and go as I needed or hang out and chat if I wanted to. Her place is located in a very cute area within walking distance of tons of great coffee shops and restaurants and only about a 5 min drive from downtown. I can highly recommend staying here!

  • Just driving into the neighborhood felt so right. The house was so beautiful. It felt calm and serene from the moment I walked in. My host could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. He even offered me a margarita, which was more than appreciated after being on the road. My room was spotless and my bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. I was in town for a race and the location was perfect....just around the corner. Afterwards, it was ideal to take a dip in the stunning pool. Great place to nod off for a little nap! From coffee being ready in the morning to a final glass of wine in the evening, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and am looking forward to a return visit.....I already miss my new friends! :)

  • Jay, Johathan and Justin were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The house is very located in a very quiet neighborhood. It felt completely safe and I really liked the atmosphere. By bike it took me a little less than half an hour to reach the heart of the city center. But within 10 minutes you reach more than enough bars and restaurants to suit your needs. So for me the location was perfect. Biking through Austin is a nice experience. Roads are good and most of them have cycle lanes. I was in Austin for SXSW and unfortunately didn't see that much of the city itself, but I will definitely return one day to explore the city further. I would highly recommend staying with Jonathan.

  • Everything was perfect. Hands down one of the best places that I have ever stayed. The home was perfect, the hosts were fabulous and the location was centrally located to everything. It will be my first choice when visiting Austin in the future!!

  • I’d never used Airbnb before so I was understandably apprehensive. But the check in was a breeze, the house is both well appointed and ideally located. I will certainly be back soon. Johnathan and crew were fantastic hosts!

  • Great place, don't waste your time or money on a hotel. This place is a steal location ,location, location. the attention to detail and all the amenities rival what you would get anywhere else, the natural light with 8 windows in the living area with all the pecans trees was also nice.Andrew was also informative and helpful with whatever we needed, will definitely be staying here again

  • The Pecan Tree House is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a house super close to Downtown with great amenities and friendly hosts. Andrew is very quick to respond to any question and even told us about local places to check out. The house is full of high tech amenities like (Hidden by Airbnb) Home and Alexa!! Bed is very comfortable and fireplaces (yes two fireplaces) keep you warm and cozy through the cold winter Austin nights.

    Jessica2019-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place is located on a quiet street with easy access to shopping and restaurants. Downtown and the university are a short drive -- it's a great location. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and well equipped (and the bed is very comfortable). Check in is easy and parking is no problem. Andrew is quick to respond to queries and he has great suggestions re restaurants, etc. We had the opportunity to meet both Andrew and Vance -- very nice guys. We can strongly recommend the Pecan Tree House and will stay again on our next visit to Austin.

    Brian2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew offered a great, convenient place for our stay. Very comfortable and clean, perfect amount of space for my boyfriend and I. The neighborhood is quiet. He was very accommodating to requests and offered great suggestions for our visit. Check-in process is simple as there is just a keypad for entry, but we got lucky and got to meet Andrew on our way in! Other than that, we hardly saw him though he lives on the property. Would definitely stay again!

  • The pecan tree house is a great little getaway in Austin. The place makes the most of its space, and it’s clear Andrew and Vance took the utmost care to select special amenities and appliances that suit the space in style. I booked the house for work and appreciated having a kitchen table and small office to work from, while the location is a super safe neighborhood that was a short walk to my office. Loved the modern comforts of this spot!

A "retreat" suite: your own wing in my East Central Austin/Cherrywood house: bedroom, bath and a sizeable living/dining/office room with mini-fridge, microwave, coffeepot, toaster and laundry. Private front and back entries, free onsite and street parking. Shady yards, quiet neighborhood, a short walk to park, pool, coffeehouses, bars and restaurants. Nearby bus stops, 5-minutes' drive to downtown and the University of Texas, it's a perfect location to relax. Cable TV and Wifi, too!
You'll have private entrances to both front and back yards. Your three-room suite features spacious, well-furnished rooms. There is central heat and air, ceiling fans in living and bedroom, good wifi service and USB charging ports. Your living area has a loveseat, chairs and antique library table, as a desk or for dining. Not a full kitchen, but a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot and toaster, perfect for a light breakfast or warming up "take-out" or leftovers. You'll have disposable cups, plates and utensils, as well as some china/microwavable dishes and glasses, with dishwashing products under the vanity sink. Upon your arrival, I provide a welcome basket with snacks and coffee makings, instant oatmeal, fresh berries, pastries and juice. The spacious bedroom features a double bed with superior mattress, all-cotton linens, and comfortably sleeps two. You'll have cable TV, bureau, armchairs, and a large walk-in closet. Large windows provide great natural light and a view of the terraced backyard. Your attached bath includes a shower, vanity sink and toilet, plush cotton bath linens, bath toiletries and hair dryer. The yards are full of trees -- shady and quiet, with a terraced, landscaped backyard and a patio with table and chairs for al fresco meals, or just chilling. The neighborhood is a favorite for joggers, dog-walkers, parents with strollers, and folks who just stroll. It features a "natural habitat" wooded greenbelt with a creek, walking path, and a tree swing, perfect for any age. How long since you've spent time in a tree swing?
The house is very close-in central, but in a surprisingly quiet and walkable area. The Cherrywood / Upper Boggy Creek neighborhood is in Central East Austin, near downtown, the University of Texas, several renowned museums and 3 blocks from the Mueller development (shops, dining, an Alamo Drafthouse theater, and a great park and walking trail). Within a half-mile to mile walk (on 38-1/2 Street or Manor Road) are excellent eateries: Eastside Cafe, El Chile Cafe/Cantina, Salty Sow, Hoover's Cooking, Mi Madre's, El Chilito (walk up for tacos anytime), and Dai Due. There are 2 Coffee Houses: Cherrywood (meals all day, beers and wine) and Thunderbird; and bars or pubs (Haymaker's, the Schoolhouse Pub). Two grocery stores (one with ready-to-eat take out) are a short walk. A city park with lighted tennis courts, picnic tables, skateboard park and a pool (open in the summers) is 2 blocks away.
  • Une excellente adresse à Austin. Margaret est charmante et nous donne d'excellents conseils.

    Jean-Blaise2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and her home are both so charming! The space was cozy and sparkling clean and Margaret was very sweet and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

    Camille2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret's place is lovely and she is very friendly and helpful. It is wonderful to have a bedroom and bath separate from a sitting room. A breakfast and snacks are provided and also a refrigerator and microwave for leftovers. The cafe nearby is yummy. We decided not to rent a car so we walked and took taxis and buses. Transportation is not easy but we liked being out of downtown and in a lovely neighborhood. Don't miss the large weekend farmer's market within walking distance.

    Ellen2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • From the first point of contact, I knew that I wanted to stay at Margaret's charming Air BNB. She replied extremely promptly to all enquiries and answered all my questions. Margaret went the extra mile by doing little things such as picking my boyfriend and I up from the extremely busy Austin airport, providing a light breakfast, and helping us with restaurant selections. Her place is absolutely charming, private, spotlessly clean, and feels very homey. On top of that, her backyard has a very calm, peaceful feeling so much so that I got back "on the wagon" with my morning meditation. I was initially concerned about staying in a part of her house because all my previous experiences had been in full apartments. But, I had nothing to fear. There was plenty of space (with a living room, full bathroom, and large bedroom that were in a whole wing separated from the rest of her house) and Margaret did not interrupt our privacy and only chatted when I had questions for her. It was the right combo of local tips plus privacy. We were very thankful for the washer/dryer as my boyfriend was flying on to NY after our long Austin weekend (and I was thankful for the coffee machine in the mornings!!) Overall, this was one of my best Air BNB experiences, and I will definitely try to stay with Margaret again (availability permitting). Thanks, Margaret!!

    Abla2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret’s space is so welcoming and beautiful! I enjoyed my stay, and I will stay there again when I get the chance. Margaret has great energy; it was a joy and privilege to get to know you.

    Veronica2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time to use Airbnb and what a wonderful beginning! I carefully read each of the reviews for Margaret's place and it sounded perfect... it was! Everything I read in the reviews was accurate: the two rooms and bathroom were very spacious, clean, and comfy. We came to Austin to locate an apartment, and when we got tired, we went "home" to Margaret's place to rest and regroup. The neighborhood is a tranquil, green oasis, as is Margaret's back yard. The location provided easy access to the freeway, as well as allowing us to drive downtown WITHOUT getting on the freeway. We tried the coffee shop mentioned in other reviews and it is my new favorite restaurant. Even though our trip was scheduled at the last minute, the host accepted our reservation and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at 8:45 in the evening. Margaret is a pleasure to talk with and an easy person with whom to do business. Her thirty year history in Austin made her a wonderful resource for us, but she's not pushy with her recommendations. I will most DEFINITELY stay at Margaret's again!

    Virginia2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying here. This is a cozy little place in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to all that Austin has to offer. Margaret is a wonderful host and goes out of her way to accommodate. We will definitely stay again!

  • I had a great stay at Margaret's place, in a lovely quiet neighbourhood, very close to DT. I didn't have a car, but Margaret was willing to drive me and so she did drop me of DT (where I rented a bike and had a lovely leisurely ride around Lady Bird Lake) and took me to Mc Kinney Falls State Park (great for hiking and swimming), and dropped me off at the airport as well. Taxi from DT at night only cost about 13 dollars. I stayed just for two nights, but the accommodation with fridge, washing machine, sitting area etc. would suit longer stays perfectly.

We're excited about offering our guest house to Austin visitors. We're in a quiet, tree-lined east Austin neighborhood. Pull into the carport and walk up the nine steps into the guest house; we're sure you'll have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The living room/kitchen is fully furnished including a twin sofa bed, a pack and play, and table & chairs. We provide secured wireless internet access and a flat screen TV with Netflix as well as local stations. The kitchen area includes a refrigerator, microwave, toaster-oven, hot plate, crock pot, coffee pot, dishwasher, dishes, flatware, etc. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, night stand, chest of drawers, and a large walk-in closet. The bathroom is en-suite and with plenty of fresh towels. We are centrally located, especially convenient to University of Texas, Dell Children's hospital, the Thinkery, and several public swimming pools.
This neighborhood makes a great headquarters for wherever you want to go in Austin. Interstate 35 is a minute away and we're generally 20 or less minutes to everywhere, including the airport, downtown, UT and Zilker Park/Barton Springs. Closer-in is the Mueller Redevelopment Area, with hiking trails, restaurants, shopping and a neighborhood pool, and Patterson park, with tennis courts open after dark and a pool. The neighborhood itself is mostly limestone homes with broad, tree-lined streets, and safe and quiet, with no apartments or businesses in the neighborhood.
  • Wonderful stay! Patricia was very accommodating, and welcomed us with delicious pastries! We had a great time and were happy to stay in such a nice neighborhood close to great coffee shops and restaurants. When we had trouble connecting to the internet, she responded to our text and came over to fix the issue right away.

    Meghan2015-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • She was a wonderful host! Highly recommend it! She had refreshments and snacks on the table upon our arrival. Two thumbs up!

    Crystal2015-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Austin and staying at Patricia's was great for the three of us! Would stay there without hesitation if I ever ended up in Austin again!

    Ashley2016-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia was very accommodating as she allowed us to reserve a place same day when some of our plans fell through. Despite the short notice, the place was clean, welcoming and complete with snacks between Austin food pilgrimages. It was fairly cold in Austin but Patricia put the heater on for us in anticipation of arrival. Although it's not downtown, this place is sneakily well-located, right near the highway (though suburban quiet) and there are plenty of great restaurants, shops and neighborhoods north of the core. We found this location to be ideal for us. Would definitely recommend/stay again.

    Andre2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia was an excellent and generous host and her accommodations are superb. The guest house is clean, full of every and any amenity you would need, and adorable to boot. The location is near all the hot spots in town and easy to find. It was kind of a shame that we only got to stay there one night. I'll definitely be staying here again upon my next visit to Austin. Thanks again, Patsy!

    Jennifer2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Patsy's guest home was lovely! First I would say the location was amazing! Very close to I-35 to get around town where ever you may need to go.... And was only an $8 uber ride out to West 6th Street area. Patsy was easy to communicate with... Left detailed info... And provided parking for us! The guest home was fully stocked with everything necessary. I would highly recommend and already have told many friends that this is the ideal place to stay in town!

    Courtney2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Patsy was an excellent host. The space was exactly as described and fit our need perfectly. She was very easy to communicate with and left us treats and bottled water to top it off! We would definitely stay again.

We have just completed a total renovation of this mid-century home. It's a 3 bedroom/3 1/2 bath in a very quiet neighborhood yet close to the Austin action! You have your own private bedroom (was the original master) with adjoining private bath. There is a flat screen TV, microwave, mini-fridge and plenty of storage in your own area. You have access to the kitchen which includes all the necessities - even a wine frig! We have a beautiful backyard with palm trees and two covered patio areas with tables and chairs for total relaxation. You have use of our washer/dryer and wifi. It is walking distance to the fabulous Cherrywood Coffeehouse, dry cleaner, convenience store and a 24 hour grocery store among many other establishments. A 3 minute walk will get you to the nearest city bus stop and a 7 minute walk to put you at the closest Car2Go location ((website hidden)). We are a 7 minute drive to Downtown, 5 minutes to UT, Dell Children's Hospital and St. David's Hospital. We are also 6 minutes (1.4 miles) to the nearest Cap Metro Rail station (light rail) which is only 2 stations away from Downtown ((website hidden)). We are in a perfect location for anyone coming in for SXSW, ACL and the Circuit of the Americas (F1 races, concerts, etc.) as well as visiting professors and physicians. We are 17 minutes from the airport (ABIA) and 20 minutes to the F1 track. Robert and I love this city and take full advantage of its many gifts. We can help with music venue and restaurant choices as well as other spots of interest. We love meeting people and will make you feel right at home.
The location is unparalleled. We are a 6-8 minute drive to downtown yet live in an area that is quiet and secluded. You'll feel like you're in an oasis yet right in the middle of everything. You can get to South Austin in a matter of minutes and the airport is a 15 minute drive. There are countless great restaurants and coffee shops nearby plus two grocery stores that are open 24/7.
  • Susan and Robert have an amazing home, we highly recommend others to say with them. If you want a clean place to stay, this is the house! They have a beautiful home. Our room was better then the pictures. The bedroom had large windows that allowed for natural light. Our bathroom was extremely large with a mini fridge, microwave and snacks. We stayed with them over the week of FFFfest, they offered to drop us off and pick us up. They allowed us to check out when ever we were done with our visit. We will stay with them again.

    David2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience using Airbnb in the US, and I was in for a treat! Susan and Robert made me feel right at home. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, with close access to downtown. The room is exactly as it appears on the listing. It was very spacious, clean, and had plenty of light. Even though I rented this room, I was welcome to use all of the other amenities of the house, which was great! If you enjoy the company of feline friends, their two cats (Willie and Waylon) are the most adorable and friendliest pets. Susan and Robert were extremely helpful in showing me around (they gave me a few rides downtown, and pointed me to the must-sees of Austin). The house is close to Cherrywood Coffeehouse, which is a laid-back cafe that has great food. It is about a 10 minute walk from the house and has a nice vibe. My flight ended up being canceled because of the weather, and it was not a problem at all to stay with them for the extra night. I also ended up going to dinner with them twice, which was awesome! I would highly recommend staying with them, and will for sure return there when I next visit Austin!

  • Everything about staying here was absolutely perfect. In a quiet neighborhood, no more than 10-15min from downtown. The house is gorgeous and the room and private bathroom were more than spacious. Susan was a lovely host, we spent almost 2 hours conversing and getting recommendations from them. I would definitely consider booking this place if you need a room in ATX.

    Brian2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan & Robert are very nice! The house and room are exactly as the pictures show and all was very clean, it is so comfortable! We had a big room with private restroom. They are very generous and gave as all we needed . It is only 10 minutes away from downtown ( and 6th street) by car. We recommend to stay there if you are going to visit Austin! Great city with a lot of things to do.

  • Great hosts with a very large and comfortable suite. House is a quick Uber/Lift/bus ride to UT and downtown Austin.

    Maojin2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Susan and Robert are excellent, experienced AirBNB hosts. They have a well appointed, comfy and spacious master suite with large bathroom, plus a beautiful landscaped backyard with water feature. Their location just off Cherrywood is perfect for UT campus or anyone wanting to be near town. Plus they are close to walking paths but on a quiet tree lined street. They are very accommodating and helpful. This is our second stay and we will come back again when we need a place to stay in Austin.

House is on the upper east side of Austin walking distance (ten minutes) to Mueller Park which includes a running trail, set of food trailers, a Sunday Farmers Market, Alamo Drafthouse, a few bars, restaurants/coffee, shopping as well as an Orangetheory Fitness. You might also enjoy wild peacocks in the neighborhood that often head over early mornings.

You will have access to a bathroom next to your room and can always use my master attached bathroom as well if needed. The bathroom is only shared if there is another guest is the other spare room, which is not often a problem due to conflicting traveler schedules. My place is pretty quiet! Most of my guests come in just for a place to sleep and then explore the city. There is plenty of space in the backyard if you want to chill, drink coffee or just read a book. Cab rides to downtown range from $9-$11 and about $6 to east-side manor street bars and restaurants (and newly open "in and out" !). Car 2 Go's can often be found in my neighborhood. Bus stop is 1 block down. Parking is available in front of my house. I do have one very small (previously two on reviews) really cute dog and am really good at keeping him out of your way and my house is super clean! Coffee will be available for you in the morning! Fridge is available if you need space to store your groceries.

  • We loved staying with Rachael. The house was beautifully decorated and clean. Rachael was really friend and helpful any time we needed anything. Her 2 dogs were very well behaved and cute! We had a great time getting to know Rachael better and that made our visit to Austin even more special!

  • Y’ALL. She was amazing and her house is the cutest house I have ever seen. And her dog is EVERYTHING that is good in life. The end.

  • Staying with Rachel was amazing! I loved her place and the location was perfect! Will definitely be coming back to stay with her!

  • Rachael was a lovely host!! Pre-check in communication was seamless and meeting her (and her adorably sweet dog, Pooh Bear) was a delight. Her home is incredibly stylish and uber clean; the location makes almost anywhere you’d wish to go easily within reach. Definitely recommend - I’d stay again in a heartbeat!

    Sasha2018-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! Tidy, well appointed, and close to attractions.

    Cade2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael's place was great. This was my first time renting a room instead of an entire house. My husband and I did not at all feel like we lacked privacy the two days we stayed with Rachael. First of all, her house is gorgeous and very clean. Our room felt like a very spacious hotel room. Second, the room is at one end of the house so it felt very private (something I worried about in renting only a room. Third, Rachael was a great host. Her recommendations as a local added to our trip to Austin. My husband and I would not hesitate to stay with Rachael again.

Modern and super clean guest house with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Great for the global traveler on business, or for couples on a get-away trip. Hotel-quality king-size bed. Open-floor plan. Concrete floor. New kitchen & laundry appliances. Coded keypad on front door provides easy and convenient self-checkin/out. Proximity to the University of Texas makes it popular among faculty/students. Easy commute for professionals working downtown. Also close to medical centers.
The guest house sits behind the main house, for full privacy. Access is via the driveway and sidewalk that leads directly to the front door of the guest house. Front-street parking in quiet neighborhood. Full kitchen. Washer/dryer. SMART-TV (use your personal social media account ID). - TV channels via HD antenna. - There is no cable. Dedicated high-band Internet/wireless.
You will enjoy this neighborhood. You are 2 blocks away from shopping center that includes a major grocery store, 24-hr fitness center, coffee shop, wine store, T-Mobile store, etc. You have easy access to IH35. Close proximity to Dell Medical Center, St David's Hospital, Brackenridge Hospital. You are also close to the University of Texas and public golf course. Neighborhood is great for walking and exploring. Hyde Park is really a village inside Austin with its own "town center" at 43rd and Duval where the locals gather for coffee and pastries at Quack's Bakery, for gelato at Dolce Vita. The center is also home to several popular cafes, Hyde Park Bar & Grill (look for the two-story fork outside and be sure to try the buttermilk-dipped fries), Asti for Italian food, and the venerable Mother's for vegetarian fare.
  • Had a wonderful stay at Gloria's place! The space is delightful, the bed comfy and the welcome amenities - wine & snacks - were appreciated. Being so busy during the stay we forgot to take advantage of that :-( The space is close to UT campus with convenient access to both 35N/S...a quick jaunt to DT Austin. It sits on a quiet residential street. Would definitely stay here again when I visit my daughter in the future.

  • I booked this spot for a week to attend the Austin City Limits music festival with my girlfriend, and also just to explore Austin a bit on the other days. The location was great- you're staying in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood while also being just a 5 min drive away from Downtown proper. The host provided plenty of amenities- multiple towels and plenty of toilet paper come to mind (I only mention this because you think it would be more common, but I've stayed at a couple places where you'd think TP was more valuable than gold). Other benefits included on-site laundry, which was fantastic to have considering this AirBnB is located in a small guest house in the backyard rather than in the main house, and the bed was very comfortable with copious amounts of pillows to make yourself a nice throne with. If you're looking for an affordable spot in a nice area while also being able to hit up the city in a flash, this is definitely one worth checking out!

    Michael2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. Super clean and easy to get in and out of.

    Mason2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very clean, well located and ideal for a couple looking to stay near downtown without the hasttle of traffic, etc. Gloria was very quick to respond to any questions. She was a great host as she left instuctions for items such as AC/unit and washer and dryer and was gracious enough to leave some snacks and a bottle of wine. I will definitely use this apartment next time I am in Austin.

    Tim2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria place was everything we wanted...brand new, impeccably clean, well appointed, peaceful, comfortable and perfectly located. Check-in was extremely easy and the accommodations made us feel right at home. 5 stars is not enough for this place!! Gloria was a great host, she stocked the fridge with cold drinks, provided snacks, chocolates and even a bottle of wine ! LOVE the strong water pressure in the shower, overall a great place to stay and we'd happily go back again soon, highly recommended.

Studio 45 is in central Austin, in the historic and hip Hyde Park neighborhood. The space has a mid-century modern feel, nestled in a large backyard with room to relax by a fire, in the hammock or with a beverage on the deck. Perfect for a spring getaway and close to downtown for all the upcoming SXSW festivities!
Studio 45 is the perfect mix of new modern (check out the bathroom!) and mid-century modern (hello vintage couch). Set up to feel like your home-away from home, you'll enjoy a top-of-the-line Sealy Posturepedic queen size bed, a luxurious and relaxing rain shower and Apple TV to Netflix and chill. This is a perfect place for your stay if you're just in town to visit beautiful, Austin or coming for one of our many events throughout the year: - SXSW in March - MotoGP in April - Formula 1 in the fall - Austin City Limits (ACL) in October - UT football games - College graduation in the Spring, Summer and Winter at The University of Texas (UT), St. Edwards or Texas State
The Hyde Park, Hancock and North Loop neighborhoods boast some of the best new dining spots in Austin. We're pretty obsessed. All located within walking distance, or a short drive, we can't recommend these places enough: - KOME ~ Japanese sushi and hot kitchen restaurant - DRINKWELL ~ Cozy gastropub/speak easy style bar and restaurant - BULLFIGHT ~ Spanish style, tapas restaurant - HOUSE PIZZERIA ~ Homemade wood oven pizza - HYDE PARK GRILL ~ American comfort food, and a neighborhood staple - MOTHER'S CAFE ~ Delicious vegetarian and vegan restaurant - JUICELAND ~ Fresh smoothies, juices and vegan ice cream If you'd like to pick up a few groceries instead, you can walk to HEB in the Hancock Center, where they also sell wine and beer. In this shopping center you'll also find a Twins Liquor, Coffee Bean and a few other fast-food options. If you're looking for a place to simply enjoy the weather, Shipe Park is an open space with a playground, basketball court, tennis courts and free swimming pool in the summer time. Mueller park, just on the other side of IH-35, is a beautiful place to run/jog around the pond, fish (catch and release), feed the ducks and geese, or grab a bite from the food trucks. It also hosts the city's children's museum, The Thinkery as well as an amazing playground.
  • Sarah's studio was a fabulous place to spend the long weekend in Austin. A beautiful space no more than a 10 minute ride into central Austin, the studio was plenty big enough for our my fiance and I. It was decorated in a very modern style that suited our tastes. Sarah was very easy to communicate with and offered great recommendations for things to do while in town. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again next time we are in Austin!

    Sean2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Studio 45 was conveniently located and easily accessible. Sarah was very kind and understanding when we showed up at 3 a.m. after a long drive to Austin. Jarrett was friendly and offered us some great suggestions for local food and drinks. The lodging was very clean and private, offering eclectic decor and all the amenities we needed. We would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

    Ezra2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. All the food recommendations were spot on- we ate at almost every suggested place and some more than once! The place was perfectly cozy, in a great location and had everything we needed, including an NES. This was one of our top AirBnb places of all time.

    Ellen2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Studio 45! It's spacious, quiet, and beautifully designed. Sarah and Jerrett are incredible hosts, providing everything a traveler would need for an enjoyable visit.

  • Sarah's place was a delightful retreat for us. We spent busy days and nights going to local attractions and out for food and drinks. It was so nice to come back to a clean, comfortable, quiet spot. And her decorating choices are stylish and made me happy! We were concerned that there might be noise from traffic, but it is recessed from the street and very quiet. We loved the convenience of the location and her recommendations for eating spots were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again!

    Elaine2018-05-17T00:00:00Z

  • Sarah and her family are incredible hosts, with a lovely, clean back house that was perfect for a weekend stay with my husband. It was adorably decorated, nice and quiet, and had just the right amount of space for two. The bathroom was recently redone with great taste, the rest of the place has a cute retro feel. We loved it! Would recommend it to others. Note that it doesn't have a full kitchen; just a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. It was plenty for us, but be mindful if you need something more substantial.

    Claire2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The space was clean, cozy, and extremely affordable. For the location and the tidiness of the place no hotel in the area could be so wonderfully priced, and as close to everything Austin has to offer.

Prime East Austin location in the desirable Cherrywood neighborhood. Cozy and comfortable home with ample indoor and outdoor living space that rivals any hotel without foregoing the comforts of home. The backyard is shared with an Airbnb guesthouse. Great for UT events, F1 racing, SXSW, ACL...or any weekend exploring Austin! This is the perfect home base for all of your adventures.
Our home is set up to make you feel at home. Room for everyone, cook in the spacious kitchen, and sleeping options include crib and toddler bed all the way up to king sized bed! Are you a family that would like to travel with less? We have a lot of family friendly items available...just ask! Stay with us and pack less :)
Cherrywood is one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Austin due to its proximity to the University, Downtown and easy access off the interstate. We love Central Austin, it has numerous local eating, drinking and entertainment options, including but certainly not limited to Cherrywood Coffeehouse, Mi Madres, and Contigo and the newer developments along Airport Blvd such as Kome and Sala & Betty. The Thinkery children's museum, Mueller hike & bike trails, and Patterson Park are all within walking distance.

  • The place was clean. However, we were hit with extreme heat and then rain. So cockroaches emerged all over the rooms of the house. My 8-year old son had a cockroach crawl over him at midnight. We moved out the next day. She was kind enough to refund us for the days we cancelled.

    Clarisa2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • David and Courtney were very thoughtful hosts and responded almost immediately to all requests we had. They proactivity reminded us about things like trash day during our month long stay.

  • Great place to stay in Austin. Conveniently located. Only minutes to downtown. And a stone's throw from local highways to take you further if necessary. The rental was very clean and adequately equipped. It would be a great place for a family with the three bedrooms. Courtney was easy to communicate with and an exceptional host. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Austin.

Private bedroom available w/ detached bathroom. House is on the upper east side of Austin walking distance to Mueller Park which includes a running trail, set of food trailers and a Sunday Farmers Market. My neighborhood is eclectic and in the mornings you might see white and colored peacocks in my yard! Go on a walk one street over and you will see many of them! You will have access to a bathroom on the opposite side of the house and can always use my master attached bathroom as well if needed. The bathroom is only shared if I have guests in the other spare room, which is not very often. My place is pretty quiet! Most guests come in just to sleep and explore the city during the day. Cab rides to downtown range from $9-$11 and about $6 to east-side manor street bars and restaurants (and newly open "in and out" !). Car 2 Go's can often be found in my neighborhood. Bus stop is 1 block down. I do have one very small (previously two on reviews) really cute dog and am really good at keeping him out of your way and my house is super clean! • Rachael house was clean and centrally located in Austin. The backyard was very pleasant to relax and have a glass of wine. Very comfortable place to stay. We did see one of the peacocks in her back yard.

  • Great neighborhood. Easy to find parking. Easy access to the Sunday farmers market, which has some excellent food trucks. We didn't use public transportation, so cannot comment on that. Rachel's place was very pretty. She has wonderful taste. Her bed was extra-ordinarily comfortable. The only downside was that there weren't any hangers or closest space for us to use for our clothes, which was a little inconvenient considering that we stayed for 3 days. I didn't have an opportunity to chat with Rachel much, but my husband did. He mentioned that her coffee was really good and wished he got up in time to enjoy it on all three mornings instead of just one. We will definitely return to stay with Rachel if we are in the area. She accommodated our last minute booking, for which we are very grateful.

  • The room was very nice and the whole stay was enjoyable. Racheal has a beautiful house and staying there is very convenient! I got my own key to use, the map and the hints what is the best to see around the town. If you plan to stay longer it's wise to borrow the car though.

  • great stay. Racheal was a pleasant host and very helpful.

  • Friendly and flexible host. Clean and bright room with a super comfy bed. Great water pressure in the shower. Fresh, delicious coffee in the morning. Adorable dogs. What more could you ask for? I felt like I was staying in a chic Austin bed and breakfast, fantastic stay! Great location, took an Uber from the airport for about $12-13.

  • Rachel's room is exactly like the pictures. The bed is comfy and the place was spotless. I would stay there again next time. Definitely recommended.

  • I had a lovely stay with Rachael and her two super cute pups. Rachael was very hospitable, kind, and giving and her bed was so comfortable! It's also very easy to get to from anywhere in Austin as long as you have a car or take uber (which is easy and cheap in Austin). I would be happy to stay with her again.

  • It’s such a nice stay at Rachael’s place! It’s clean and warm feeling . She is very kind person and love to share with you about what she knows about the city. I’d definitely stay again at her place at my next visit.

Relax on the private deck or curl up on the crimson sofa at this cool duplex in a unique pocket of Cherrywood, central Austin. After a day of sightseeing, enjoy highlights like the gourmet kitchen and the spacious, lush walk-in shower.STR (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
Our duplex is in an architecturally unique section of the Cherrywood neighborhood in East Austin. Sometimes called "Duplex Nation", the development was constructed in 1948 by a developer named Bascom Giles, who built the neighborhood to serve moderate income families following WWII. There are a few floor plans, but all are built out of cinder block bricks covered in stucco and have a distinct style compared to the surrounding neighborhoods. Duplex Nation is a good mix of renters and live-in owners, with a quirky style that enabled the development to be added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Delwood Duplex Historic District in 2011. We have fully renovated the inside of both the upstairs and downstairs apartments. Refinished hardwood floors, refinished yellow pine doors and updated paint in all rooms. The gourmet kitchen is brand new, including cabinets, countertops, stainless steel appliances and a dish washer. In addition, we have removed some of the interior walls to allow for an open concept kitchen, dining and living area. We updated the bathroom, and to save space, we have done away with the bathtub, but we have a very luxurious new shower that should not disappoint. We have a tankless, on-demand water heater, so no worries about running out of hot water. The space has central air and heat. We provide access to a washing machine and dryer for our guests (but please use the soap provided, as it is a high efficiency washer). We have a couple of spaces for off street parking, up the alley in the back of our place (though word of warning - the city does not maintain the alley, so there are a few potholes - take it slow going back there). You can also park on the street out front.

  • This was the best Airbnb experience by far. It’s a cool space and an excellent host. David was helpful and friendly through out. Beers in the fridge and home baked cookies was a great touch! Great location. Amazing hospitality.

  • David's place was great for our quick 3-day trip to Austin. A quick ride away from all of the major attractions, his neighborhood had plenty of parking and a cute neighborhood cafe not too far away. Anything and everything we could think of was provided, and the whole apartment was comfortable, modern, and stylish. I would happily stay again if I was in town!

  • Fabulous! David is super friendly and responds quickly to any requests. The house was very clean and stylish and made us feel like we were home! Highly recommend! This spot is in a great location too! 10 minutes from downtown and right around the corner to the interstate!

  • Guys, amazing place! My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at David's place. Everything from checking in, communication, neighborhood, etc was perfect. David is definitely a super host! At arrival beers, chips n salsa, and even macaroons where waiting for us. The apartment is beautiful and spacious. The localization is great near bars and restaurants and other fun things a like. Definitely will consider this place when driving back to Austin.

  • We had an amazing time in Austin, David and P.Y. went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. When we arrived David was there to greet us and had the apt stocked with snacks and drinks. David responded to all of our questions quickly and was there for us if we needed anything. Since this was our first time to Austin, David had a list of places for us to eat and visit while we were there. Would highly recommend staying with them!!

  • First of all, David only lives a block away so he is supper responsive although we did not require his services as everything was perfect. He met us at our check in and could not have been a better host. Out of the gate, I knew that we would love this place as a six-pack of beer was waiting for us in the fridge. David's rehab of this two story duplex was phenomenal. A great living space with two ample bedrooms with comfy queen beds. The modern kitchen and bathroom (great shower) were unexpected. The amenities were simply excellent. The dishes, silverware, luxurios thick towels and bedding were all fabulous. While we did not cook at all on our stay, I am sure we would have enjoyed cooking on the excellent gas range. The majority of the time the actual space does not live up to the marketing pictures on airbnb. This is not the case with David's place. The location is excellent as the home is located in a quiet cherry wood neighborhood but with quick access to I-35 and the entire city of Austin. We would highly, highly recommend a stay at David's place to anyone.

  • All the other reviews are accurate - David is a wonderful host and this house is a fantastic place to stay. Minutes from great restaurants and close to other fun locations. I came with some friends for a weekend in Austin and he made several restaurant recommendations. His wife had even made fresh cookies. Needless to stay, we will be looking forward to coming back on our next trip to Austin.

Stylish studio apartment in the heart of Hyde Park, Downtown Austin, UT campus, and all things Central Austin has to offer. This unit has 1 Queen size sleeper sofa, one full bathroom with a standing shower, a separate double vanity, and a full kitchen.
This studio apartment is situated behind the Main House. The two units are separated by a courtyard and there are no shared spaces. Parking is available on the street.
This cute little Hyde Park neighborhood is blocks away from the UT campus and across the street from Hancock Golf Course. If you wish to explore downtown you will be there within 5 minutes via car. There are grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Home Slice Pizza, Vino Vino, Juiceland, and Zucchini Kill Bakery are some of my nearby favorites!
