À propos de votre hôte

I have been studying the Japanese tea ceremony for over a decade, and now hold a master license in the craft. I co-host this event with my teacher, a ceremony expert with over 70 years of experience in this branch of traditional Japanese hospitality. She first started practicing this delicate art at age three.

Au programme

Kaiseki—a traditional multi-course dinner—hails from Japan’s Edo period, where it was served prior to the tea ceremony. We will gather in the tea ceremony room of a lifelong practitioner for our unique sensory experience, beginning with a homemade kaiseki lunch. This rare culinary tradition, comprised of multiple small dishes, comes with its own set of manners, which I will explain as we eat…

Autres informations utiles

We’ll spend the duration of the ceremony in a seated kneeling position, so please wear appropriate attire. You may be uncomfortable in a miniskirt or stiff jeans, for example.
