Learn to make brie while you sample incredible wines!

Indulge in some of the most decadent cheese and wine the world has to offer while you learn about how to taste and craft your own bloomy-rinded cheese (like brie and camembert) then learn to pair it with a sommelier-curated and terroir driven collection of fabulous wines.

Explore the world of bloomy-rinded cheese and the great variety available within this category with a hands-on cheesemaking workshop and tasting tour of our favorite artisan cheeses, led by FARMcurious founder, Nicole Easterday.

While we wait for the curd to set, we take a truly decadent tour of exquisite bries paired with wines. Experience the variety available in this one cheese - from ash rinds to added ingredients like herbs or mushrooms, to using different milks like goat, sheep, or cow - there's so much to taste!

Then learn to pair these delightful cheeses with small production wines, complete with sommelier-led educational tasting by Melissa Smith of Enotrias, 'Sommelier to the Silicon Valley Stars'. Melissa guides you through the process of selecting the perfect wine to delight your guests and complement your cheese.

I started FARMcurious in 2010 to help forge a reconnection with my food and where it comes from. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with cheesemaking and its fascinating science and history.

I became an American Cheese Society (ACS) Certified Cheese Professional in 2019 and in 2020 ACS named me as a Subject Matter Expert. I received my Certificate of Artisan Cheesemaking from the College of Marin in 2011.

I've been teaching cheesemaking classes for more than ten years and love finding new ways to explain the amazing process of turning milk into cheese. I'm as passionate about teaching and learning as I am about eating! It's important to me that each of my classes is well-organized and packs in as much information and hands-on experience as possible. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Our entire experience takes place in one spot - SHE Studios- but you'll enjoy a world of cheese while there.

This peaceful studio is a perfect spot to learn cheesemaking and focus on cheese, surrounding by locally-crafted warm wood panels and peaceful artwork. It's very Berkeley!

This 3-hour cheesemaking class was amazing, Nicole, the owner cheese expert was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and made all of us appreciate how much work and skill goes into the high quality, artisanal cheese (Brie) that we buy at our local stores. In addition to learning and making your own cheese you also get to spend the downtime trying different cheese and wine with Nicole and the sommelier, these two ladies were very passionate about their field which gave us confidence that we chose the right class. This was a wonderful experience! Nicole is incredibly knowledgeable so I learnt heaps during the 3 hours. The best part was that I left feeling confident and prepared to age my cheese and make it again myself. Nicole gave us a detailed recipe guide and even offered to answer our future questions about cheese making via email! The cheeses and wines that we tasted were really special too - Nicole had clearly gone out of her way to source particularly high quality, hard to find cheeses for us! The wines were also really good - I was taking notes because I want to find some of those delicious reds to have again!

Great way to spend your Sunday! Nicole is CLEARLY an expert in cheese making - not only did she teach us how to make cheese, but she went through the scientific process behind cheese making. The wine-pairing aspect of the class was also quite enjoyable, considering we tasted as well as learned about which wines work well with certain cheeses. I also very much appreciated Nicole accommodating for my partner's dietary restrictions and being so accommodating. Thank you for your time and hospitality, Nicole!

I loved this!!! Nicole was phenomenal and so was the entire wine and cheese pairing. I learned a lot, got all my questions answered, and feel like I could absolutely do this at home. I am loving watching my little baby cheese age at home and can't wait to see what it's like when it's ready. This class brought together a wonderful group of people too - so passionate and warm. I would do it again!!
