Au programme

In this activity, we will experience Ghibli-like Tokyo's deep nature. It can be surprisingly different from the metropolitan Tokyo (signs at Shinjuku, the crossing of Shibuya). 1. After a 90-minute train trip from Shinjuku, we will hike up to the 2,600-foot mountains, including the temple. 2. We will hike with little talk of how Japanese people see the mountain as sacred and a place to train the body and purify the spirit. This is systematized in Shugen-do, a variation of Buddhism and Shinto. 3. We'll go down to the riverside, which is filled with beautiful blue water, and visit a sake brewery and its flower garden. (Non alcoholic options available, I am non-alcoholic person myself too.) Sake can only be good when it is made with pure "living" water. We can also taste real tofu made with fresh water and even smoked tofu (taste like cheese! Really).

Le lieu

We will hike the around Tokyo mountains, partly along riverside, only 90 minutes from Shinjuku Terminal. I always am surprised by how rich nature is near the city of Tokyo. On the way, we can see the old little temple of Koma inu dogs statues. Another fantastic gift from nature is good sake and tofu, which you can buy and taste as a reward for a long walk. This course is all the time my favorite. I am happy to share the place with friends!
