We'll meet in one of my favourite coffee shops close to the centre of the University. Over a coffee we'll agree on a final route plan and you'll soon find out why Cardiff is famous for its castle, millionaires, historic buildings, parks, free museums, sports stadiums, cutting-edge university facilities and even dragons and angels. If you like art I can even show you a rediscovered Botticelli and one of the world's best art collections.
Parts of the city and university are particularly photogenic and I'll show you where the latest TV and films are shot and also give you the chance to take your own photos and ask questiions.
If you are happy to cycle we can take in the Bay area, as well as cover more of the parks on safe tree-lined routes. If you're not into cycling that's not a problem and we can cover the main parts of the city and Uni on foot. We can stop whenever and wherever you want as this will be your tour.
It will be my pleasure to help you make the most of your visit to this fascinating city so if you have any special requests let me know. I'm happy to arrange interviews at the university with students and lecturers if you give me reasonable notice.
This is a private tour but you are welcome to bring along a friend or family member for free! Just let me know when booking. You will need to be reasonably fit and willing to walk and/or cycle.

I'm a qualified teacher and tour guide with over 30 years experience of teaching and now over 5 years experience of tour guiding. Currently I am a short course associate at Cardiff University and published a guide called "Cardiff City of Angels" which you can read online at www.facebook.com/angelscardiff
I am lucky enough to have the time to show people around this wonderful city and university, which for a beginner can seem large and confusing. It's easy to explore some of it on bike too if you want and I can lend you one you are welcome to use after the tour for the day.
I'll certainly do my best to introduce you to the most interesting bits of the city and make you feel safe and welcome.

Le lieu
We'll meet near the main University building and I'll show you Cardiff's Civic Centre, Castle, Stadium, incredible parks and many impressive early-20th-century buildings, once all dressed in bright white Portland stone financed by black money-making coal! We'll follow safe trials all around the city and take in Cardiff Bay and all the major sites if you want to cycle. We'll always go at your pace so can stop wherever you like.

Bill is an incredible host who clearly enjoys running this experience. We meet at a gorgeous little coffee shop (which was really easy to find), wandered the many university buildings, stopped at the departments I was interested in and even got the chance to talk to a Business student and see student projects. Bill is so easy to chat to and knows so much about art, the university, Cardiff and for international tourists the United Kingdom. He's kind, willing to help and the conversation was never boring! After the university, we briefly checked out Bill's favourite art exhibit in the Cardiff Museum and then joined in a university writing club who happened to be meeting at our start point cafe. Really different way to experience the city. Ultimately Bill's tour was truly unique and gave a local perspective of Cardiff, with personal contact with real university students and great conversation.
