Ce que vous allez faire
All classes are held either in the WOVEN ARTS studio or gallery space, providing an inspiring and creative learning environment. The space will generally be set up as a circle, with all the furniture needed so you will be comfortable. All materials, tools & equipment will be prepared and ready for you when you arrive,as well as my smiling face to greet you as your teacher. Following is what to expect from our weaving class together: - Welcome, acknowledgments and introductions - Open Circle - A brief overview of the class - Introduction to fibre harvesting, preparation and storage - A brief weaving demonstration and instruction. - Start Weaving - Weaving instruction and support - Finish Weaving - Close Circle During the weaving process we will talk freely and openly about weaving cultures across the globe , its place in history and it's revival and necessity in our modern world. You will learn to harvest, process, store and weave with local, natural fibres and take home with you a unique experience and woven piece of art.
I am the founder, artist & facilitator of Woven Arts: an artist run studio/gallery specialising in Fibre Art, Cultural Education & Womens Empowerment. I've delivered workshops to 1000's of people as an artist for festivals, councils, schools, arts organisations & privately throughout Australia since 2008. I have been engaged as a speaker, artist, facilitator & mentor & exhibit my work both on Minjerribah / North Stradbroke Island, QLD & Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, NSW. Weaving is a healing pathway, bridging ancient & modern ways with the timeless wisdom, strength & beauty of the natural world.
Depending on the size of the group & the weather, each class is held either in the studio or in a thoughtfully chosen local natural setting on mats with portable chairs & tables. Both settings offer an inspiring & creative classroom with the option to browse &/or purchase Woven Art direct from the artist. Each studio/gallery is unique & illuminates the patterns, textures and colours of Anaheke's handwoven pendants, wall pieces & sculptures.
