Ce que vous allez faire
We will start by walking through some of the most important streets and buildings of Zumaia, a little village west of San Sebastian, famous for having the most incredible cliffs of the basque coast. Here we will discover hidden fossils and talk about the history of this unique place. We'll then head off the beaten path to a hidden viewpoint with astonishing views of the Basque Coast UNESCO Global Geopark. An area that holds a heritage worth more than 60 million euros! What do I mean? you'll see... After admiring the views we'll descent to Itzurun beach to walk through it and learn about the incredible geological heritage. We'll then visit the iconic "Ermita de San Telmo” where we'll do some more fossil spotting and sightseeing. Algorri rocky cove will be our last stop where we will learn about the extinction of the dinosaurs and how biodiversity has evolved through millions of years. The gorgeous landscape will be our eternal companion, but of course, to finish this experience I'll take you to one of my favourite bars for a pintxo and a drink. Why? Because one of them is the only bar that serves the local and traditional Octopus Soup all year round (every morning but Wednesday). If not, don't worry, there are more than 40 bars in the village. Come and join a mind blowing experience where time and nature will give us a deep immersion into ourselves as species in this planet.
My name is Angel and I'm a freelance guide, an environmental scientist and a very friendly and knowledgable person - the best combination for guiding you along this amazing coastline! Travelling and living in Europe and South America with my wife Scarlett and son; but also working in the tourism industry, has given me a real sense of what an excellent experience needs to include. Let me offer this, an immersion into both the incredible natural and cultural heritage of the Basque coast. We came to live to this stretch of coast with Scarlett and found a paradise for our little family, specially considering my science background and her Basque roots. Often our guests write back to us telling us how this experience has changed their way of seeing the landscape. Want to know why? Come and experience it for yourself!

We'll go to my favourite viewpoint because almost no one goes there and it is probably the best view point around the area. For instance, centuries ago it used to be a whale spotting place and also during the dictatorship the rebel army used to guard the coast from there. At the bar we'll be able to try unique pintxos and drinks, like the traditional octopus soup coupled with locally produced wine or cider from the mountains in the region.

Plus de conseils
This can be a child (>2) friendly activity, but tell me in advance if there are children in your group, so I can include activities that will suit them better or I can provide a backpack carrier if needed. Travelling from/to San Sebastian is super easy and I do it all the time by public transport.
