My name is Pádraic Ó Griallais, and I’m a 6th generation poitín distiller from Connemara. My family have been producing poitín here on the shores of Galway Bay for over 170 years. Micil Distillery is named in honour of my great-great-great grandfather, Micil Mac Chearra. He began distilling in 1848 right here in Connemara.

During a Micil Distillery experience you'll get the opportunity to sample the products we make here in the distillery, and will be served both gin and poitín with a selection of premium mixers. You will also get to sample our exclusive Heritage Poitín. This is included in the cost of the tour.
