Ce que vous allez faire

Hong Kong is more than just an amazing city, it is also a country with more than 40% of its area protected as National Park (Country Park). In the northeastern corner of Hong Kong is an area recognised for its international geological significance and beauty - an area known as the UNESCO Hong Kong Global Geopark. Formed from an ancient super volcano, the Shelter Bay environment is pristine. Rainforest clad islands, fringing coral reefs, crystal clear waters, white sand beaches - a superb sea kayaking environment. We spend the day paddling around and between islands, swimming at remote beaches, snorkelling over coral reefs and hiking / exploring old forgotten Chinese villages. Shelter Bay is famous for its protected waters, providing the perfect venue for a sea kayak adventure.

David

I'm a seasoned professional sea kayak guide and instructor / whitewater rafter and outdoor educator. Having lived in Hong Kong over the past decade I have explored the entire coastline by sea kayak, in all conditions. This is one of the best places in the world that I have had the pleasure of sea kayaking and it is always a pleasure sharing the experience with people who are visiting. Am currently writing the "Sea Kayaker's Guide to Hong Kong" in partnership with Sea Kayak Hong Kong.

Le lieu

Sharp Island and Yim Tin Tsai are both amazing destinations in the UNESCO Global Geopark. We explore both islands by foot and sea kayak. Both islands have unique features. The Tombolo on Sharp Island is fringed by coral reefs, a popular diving destination in Hong Kong. Yim Tin Tsai also has a uniques sand bottomed mangrove forest - very unusual and a great place to snorkel to view the fish life.
