Ce que vous allez faire
This guided photowalk will take in the historic London neighbourhood of Bermondsey, a former leather making and industrial area of London. We'll trace back the history of some of the buildings through ghost signs (old painted advertising boards) still visible on the brick work of some buildings, including insider stories from me, your local guide, about the connection of these historic signs to the local area. We'll delve further into the history of the area by taking the steps of former wharf workers in this once thriving industrial heartland, hear about Jacob the dray horse and his role in the local Courage brewery, before heading towards the river through hidden laneways to track down the final ghost sign of the walking tour, finishing at bustling Borough Market where we'll head to a traditional London pub, favoured by locals. The walk will combine history, street art and mobile photography tips. So be sure to bring your phone or camera and let's get ready to capture Bermondsey!
I've spent the past seven years hosting photowalks across London. Born in Australia, I moved to London in 2003 and have been exploring the hidden gems of this fabulous city ever since. I'm an avid street photographer (@natal13d on Instagram). I'm also co-manager of an Instagram community @IgersLondon and love hosting people on photowalks. On my walks you not only get the stories of the local area, but I can offer tips on mobile street photography and will share my favourite editing apps as we capture the nooks and crannies of this amazing part of London.

The walking tour will take around 2-2.5 hours. The walk itself is generally flat, although due to the historic nature of some of the streets there are cobblestones and uneven surfaces throughout.
