Ce que vous allez faire
When you arrive at the Moxie & Oliver Studio, just about 20 minutes north of Downtown Seattle (and Downtown Bellevue) you will know instantly you're in a creative space, and you will dive right in. This course starts you out with pre-cut pieces so you can focus on adding design, pattern, colors and other embellishments to your piece. You'll spend the time sketching, burning and painting your image onto your piece, and then adding dye to color the background. I'll walk you through each step, concluding with the assembly (hand stitching, of course!) so you will leave with a piece that looks like it was made by a seasoned professional!
I'm Caitlin, pronounced Kat-lynne, and I am the owner, designer, and leatherworker behind Moxie & Oliver. I've been working with leather for the last fifteen years and have honed my unique methods through experimenting with this unique medium. The techniques that I have created for use in my own work are easy to learn in an afternoon, and enable each end every one of my students to leave their experience with a finished piece that they can be proud of!

Local Fare We know Kenmore isn't big, but we do have some delicious local fare to share with you! Come experience the best…
We will have our workshop in Moxie & Oliver's Big Red Barn workshop - it's a large barn that has been converted to a leathercraft workspace. The Barn is comfortably heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. Designed specifically by and for Moxie & Oliver, it's a one-of-a-kind experience.

I recommend bringing some sketches of the design you would like to add to your piece. Also, wearing comfortable shoes is recommended - there is seating but you'll be doing a bit of standing!
