Ce que vous allez faire

This experience is for families, group or individuals who have the desire to experience the basics of Japanese traditional martial art, Karate. 【Wearing Dogi】 We will teach you the complex procedures to wear karate wear like a professional, setting our minds ready. 【Bowing and Meditating】 There is a saying in karate, "Karate starts and ends with a bow". Although bowing is usually misjudged as a simple gesture, it is a profound movement that is applied to all of the basic punches and kicks. In karate, we meditate to organize our thoughts. We will elevate our focus through meditating. 【Basic Punches and Kicks】 Then we’ll practice the basic stances, punches, kicks, and defense techniques of karate. Compared to other martial arts, the vector of karate techniques is mostly linear, therefore having one of the top speed in martial arts. 【Kata】 After the master's demonstration of "kata" or detailed patterns of movements intended as a literal depiction of a mock fight, we will learn the first kata "Heian Shodan"! We will take a video of your performance too :) 【Board Breaking】 Finally, everyone will write their favorite Japanese letter on a wooden board, and punch/kick through them!

Le lieu

Our dojo is also a Japanese traditional TEMPLE. Participants can see the inside of a temple. The surrounding areas have a downtown local vibe, much calmer than the busy cities of Tokyo. If you want to see the everyday life of an average Japanese, this town is perfect. 600 CHERRY BLOSSOM TREES are available at the nearby Asukayama Park! Also located only 20min from Tokyo station, you can plan another activity on that day.
