Au programme

Visit our remote and private location on the Snowy River where we live with our 4 brumbies who are free to roam on the river and in our bush land.
Spend time with the brumbies on the river and in their bush home. You can take many photos and the horses love a pat and carrot to say hi.
Then your will have a personal brumby experience with our brumbies in the round yard. This includes a small show and information session on the brumby and their unique qualities. You can then come in with the brumby and do some 'ground work' training with myself guiding you on natural horsemanship. Once you feel comfortable we can then give you a bareback riding experience in the round yard with the brumby. Here you will learn how they respond to different signals and how to work with them using different horse handling techniques suitable to their wild mannerisms and instincts.
Lastly you can will be given a morning or afternoon tea and a chat on where to find the brumbies in the wild here in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. All money earned goes to their care.

My son Charlie (now aged 14) and I have been training and caring for brumbies (wild horses) for over 8 years on the Snowy River. We established Snowy Brumby Horesmanship to share our expertise in training and managing these once wild horses. We only work with Brumbies and not domestic horses.
We work with Brumbies who have either not been handled at all, or others who may have been badly broken in and have 'human problems.' We have our own brumbies who will remain with us for their 30 plus years as this is their forever home.
In our spare time we ride our brumbies in the bush and camping out with them along the river. They love the bush as much as we do.

We had a magical afternoon with Charlie and Claire and their menagerie of animals, including wild baby kangaroos who visit in the late afternoon. Our only regret is that we didn’t bring swags so that we could stay the night! We didn’t want to leave. If you want to know more about brumbies, their history and characteristics, then this experience is a ‘must do’ for any trip to the Snowy Mountains. It isn’t essential to be a horse rider - just an animal lover. And you don’t want to be in a hurry so that you can linger and enjoy Charlie and Claire’s hospitality. We all want Claire’s tart recipe!!! Beautiful property, beautiful horses, beautiful people. Quintessential Australians.

Claire and her son Charlie were wonderful hosts. We learnt a lot about brumbies and their training and care. This was a special time, loads of fun and something we will remember 😊

Claire and her son Charlie were amazing hosts and their horses were so special. Nothing was too much trouble whether it was to answer every question or to have another trot around the training yard on the brumbies. Claire’s love and passion for what she does is evident and it shows on all of her horses. The afternoon tea and chat plus a surprise bottle feeding with some joeys were a highlight. We will be back and can highly recommend this to anyone who loves animals and wants to see some amazing scenery!

This experience was beyond great, not only will you learn a lot but also gives you a warm, close and loving approach which made us all feel extra relaxed, this helped a lot since we were mostly first timers. I can't express the level of hospitality, we didn't only get to ride they're brumbies in which we came for but also was also given the opportunity to feed baby kangaroos and to add to all this it was beautiful to see the brumbies been given the most tender of treatment and care by having a beautiful fresh water river with magnificent views of nature, where again Claire said we're welcome to take a dip. After a few moments of hesitation we all managed to jump in the water which was absolutely amazing while seeing all of they're brumbies freely walk through one side of the water to another is something we can't forget, we could not have had a more better experience. Please keep it up and will definitely be back. Thank you Claire, Charlie & Bo ❤️

What a joyful time! My partner gave me this experience for our wedding anniversary. It had been many years since I've ridden as, despite my love of horses, my work demands and other commitments make working with horses a non-event. Meeting Claire, Charlie, and Beau, and getting to ride one of their gorgeous brumbies was something I'll not soon forget. The property is amazing, with the kind of bush isolation I love. And our hosts are lovely people that made me feel welcome and wanted.

What an amazing and beautiful experience. To be able to connect with brumbies and learn about them. Claire’s place is surrounded by the beauty of the bush and you feel a connection to it all.
