Being a third generation Philly resident I lived and breathe this city for over 30 years! Raised in the heart of North Philly before Temple took over, I have seen the beauty of urban living first hand. The eclectic nature of every hood of Philly is truly unique and has been carved via blood, sweat, drug wars and tears of its natives. Philly's overall personality is very raw but few hoods have held on their grittiness post gentrification. I will give you the uncut story of my experiences overcoming many obstacles while on my path to thriving in this one of a kind city.

This is the type of human experience more people need to have. Chrissy immerses guests into the racial and socio-economic tensions found in the rougher neighborhoods surrounding center city while threading together a fascinating tour of street art and murals. At the same time, she shares her life story which punctuates the struggling underclass of Philadelphia.

Chrissy is a friendly and welcoming tour guide! She clearly thought through the whole experience and truly knows about, and cares about, the people and history of this city. She left us thinking about the beauty and stories behind the murals, finding art in overlooked places, and the people, communities, and parts of the city that are ignored. It ended up just being our party and Chrissy, so we were able to consider and think critically about art and these issues and have meaningful conversations together. Would definitely recommend for anyone, from Philly or not, to see what is beyond the typical presented image of Philadelphia.

I did this tour as a surprise for my boyfriend who is pursuing a Masters in Social Work and is not from Philadelphia. Chrissy was an amazing tour guide and beautiful inside and out. She shared her own personal stories that allowed us to connect with her and also understand the life of many Philadelphians. Being from the Philadelphia area, I was familiar with the neighborhoods we visited, but I was not aware of the specific history and art that Chrissy was able to point out to us. The reality of some neighborhoods was difficult to process but I am forever grateful to have shared another side of the city with another person and also see them for myself. The art in Philadelphia is amazing and sometimes I feel it is not appreciated enough. This tour was a fantastic way to experience both worlds of the city and Chrissy structured it beautifully.

My name is Kia, I have a travel company, Passport Poppin (@_passportpoppin on IG) where I host group trips around the world. Since COVID, I have been dedicating my time to personally exploring US cities and I am so glad I found this experience In Philly! Chrissy is very passionate and knowledgeable about the history and culture of Philly. She was born and raised there and has such a deep connection to the city. I love when hosts are genuinely invested in making sure their guests feel welcomed, learn/try something new, and enjoy a new adventure in a city. We saw breathtaking murals in 4 different parts of the city. The tour really immerses you into Philly to give a genuine experience from a local's POV- which is essential to get whenever you travel. I am so glad I found Chrissy, and I cannot wait to be able to host a group in Philly with her! :)

I had an amazing time on this tour with Chrissy and saw parts of Philly that I never would have seen if I stayed within the touristy sector. This is an absolute must if you're wanting to see the real Philly from a local's eye. Chrissy also introduced me to water ice which was delicious and the perfect summer treat..
