À propos de Apples to Applesauce

OUR MISSION IS TO END CHILD HUNGER BY ENDING FOOD WASTE. Apples to Applesauce harvests excess produce from commercial farms and even the fruit tree in your backyard. We preserve the food by baking, canning, or dehydrating. We then donate kid-friendly food directly to after school programs and other non-profits addressing child hunger.
Il s'agit d'une expérience solidaire où l'intégralité de ce que vous payez est reversée à Apples to Applesauce. .

Au programme

We'll meet at one of my favorite coffee shops in Southeast to get to know one another. From there, we'll head to beautiful Sauvie Island, where we will meet a local farmer and harvest seasonal fruits and vegetables. We will take a break and enjoy some of the fruits of our labor over a picnic lunch! Once we've harvested enough food, we'll head back from the dreamy countryside to the city.

Autres informations utiles

Harvesting can be dirty and physically demanding. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing (layers, clothes that can get dirty) and wear closed toe shoes. Bring sunscreen a rain coat and maybe a sun hat.
