This hands-on course is designed for beginner’s amateur home bakers with very limited or no baking experience, who may have been confused by over-complicated recipes and are interested in getting in to the world of sourdough baking.

In our outdoor kitchen you will learn to bake delicious & hearty breads in a way that fits into your day to day life schedule, you'll receive a lot of individual attention so you’ll be able to get going in your own kitchen as a home baker and to bake all kinds of sourdough bread & pizza using simple, wholesome ingredients.

During the day you will get floury (don’t worry, we will all have aprons yet it’s not a very good idea to wear your best clothes ) and we’ll serve lunch from what will bake during the day, tea and refreshments drinks. You will have your very own sourdough starter plus recipes and instructional handouts and some of the utensils so you can start baking your own tasty sourdough bread right away!

At the end of this interactive informal hands-on course you will be able to:

- make and keep a healthy sourdough starter
- fit sourdough bread in your busy life
- learn about traditional bread making techniques
- handle & hand mix wet dough
- understanding baker's terminology: mixing, stretching, folding, proving and scoring the dough for the oven

If you wish to take the course but the dates doesn't suit you , just talk to me at least few days in advance ( the more - the better ) and most probably I can schedule it.

My name is iulian and in 2010, after 16 years of successfully experience within international hotel chain restaurants and also onboard ocean liners, I quit my city life and together with my family ( wife & 2 kids ) I moved from Bucharest city to an almost abandoned farm in a small village in SW Transylvania - Romania. Here we bought a piece of land and a ruined house near the Retezat Mountains, in one of the most beautiful areas of Romania where tourists can visit many ancient and medieval churches and buildings.
Since then, I developed my new passion and become a self educated home based sourdough bread baker, teaching people how to make their own bread at home with just 3 ingredients: flour, water, salt without preservatives or any other strange ingredient added and occasionally baking for big events of different NGOs around the country

Le lieu

We can conduct our workshop in several places on our property, depending on the weather, number of persons in your group and time of the year: our outdoor covered terrace, near our veggie garden under a canopy of majesty trees or even indoors in our neighbor B&B kitchen. In all places, we'll have a wood fired oven and all the accessories we'll need for the course.
