Au programme

Curious about NYC architecture and how the Big Apple is shaped? Looking for a fun, alternative daytime activity to do?

Using the city as our canvas, you will learn about urban design through the lens of unique, and some lesser-known curated sites in town! Each stop will explore a theme of the way Manhattan and Brooklyn was and continues to be shaped through the field of urban planning and (really cool) architecture. Find out why and how each neighborhood is zoned the way it is, and learn about the unique processes it takes to build in New York City. You'll learn about the history and details of spaces that are overlooked in everyday life, and how buildings and public spaces inform each other throughout the 20th century until today.

This isn't your average sightseeing tour! You'll be receiving the "locals-only" treatment" that won't disappoint. Usually, we will start in the heart of the Lower East Side and conclude in trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Each stop will be around 15 min each for about 2.5 hours total that includes transport and walking.
Other things to note
*In order to get to Brooklyn, you can choose how you'd like to travel over the Williamsburg Bridge with me! (*Weather permitting.)
-Subway: 7 min.
-Walk: 30-35 min.
-Citi Bike: 15-20 min. (extra fee)

I learned so much that I never would have known. David is very knowledgeable and had some great little facts that will be fun to share with friends when we’re in the area. David also made everyone feel comfortable, and he was able to answer all the questions I had. He gave us the past, present, and future of all the areas. Also, the walk across the bridge and views of manhattan and Brooklyn were stunning! Highly recommend to people visiting or even people that live in nyc that want to get to know this amazing city a little better!
