With COVID limitations in mind unless it is family or friends of your choice we will only allow this to be a four person class and weather permitting you'll dine outdoors.

So let's have a fun workshop and make a dessert calzone too!

Linda and Ted will greet you with a warm welcome at their mountain top retreat—which, wherever you look, has either stunning views or picturesque vignettes of ponds and barn.

Award winning Chef Ted will introduce you to the overall theme and then lead a hands-on pizza and calzone-making class.

You’ll learn to make fresh dough, secret to using shells for later use, toppings, and sauces. Learn fresh-baked and grilled pizza. We’ll use mostly organic, regional ingredients that herald mainly from nearby Vermont farms.

2-3 hrs. Recipes included. Gluten free option available with advance notice.

Repeats regularly on most Friday evenings but contact us to change to another date, time, or a different class to suit your needs.
Other things to note
If weather is stormy we can pick you up at the base of our hill.
If interested in a different class subject, and no one else has booked the same date we'll change the course for your pleasure!

It’s rewarding to offer this from my home using local ingredients, an idea I helped pioneer with my wife, Linda, since '75. We are forerunners in wine pairings & vanguards in Vermont’s farm to table culinary community which champions local products.

My restaurant career began at the age of 5, frying baloney & cooking minute rice on the radiator plu hanging out in the kitchens of my grandmother & restaurateur grandfather.

As adults we wandered through some grand kitchens in France & Italy where my interest in food reignited.

Our last restaurant, Hemingway's, received many accolades including Top 25 R's in America-Food & Wine Magazine & 50 Most Distinguished R's in the US-Condé Nast Traveler.

Experience the beauty of Vermont living and immerse yourself in our intimate culinary arena at our mountain top home.

If it suits you and weather permits around our rural community, we can also look for wild edibles to use in our cooking class--whatever your pleasure.

Also for neighbors we have maple syrup makers, a passionate vigneron, and gardeners, all of whom welcome your visit.

Thank you for your knowledge on making pizza and calzones from scratch. My friends and I had fun being able to personalize our pizza and calzones. I wish we were able make a little more~

Pizza dough has always been something I struggled with, though no longer...:) This was the best cooking classes I have ever taken, and I have taken a few over the years.:) Linda and Ted are absolutely fantastic, warm, and welcoming, their home and kitchen are gorgeous, and the patience and detail that was given in the instruction was second to none. I walked away confident that I could re-create what I had learned. I will absolutely be taking more classes from them. Signed up for another one this weekend!
