Au programme

This is beekeeping at night. You will not need to wear a beekeeping suit, unless you really want to. We will be observing the life and behavior of a young honey bee colony enclosed in an observation nuc under a red light. I will go over the long history of honey and its various uses in the ancient world.
From a healing elixir, to mummification, and stories of it being used to honor the dead in the afterlife.
We will take a closer in the body of this super organism, the different roles of individual bees inside the hive, and maybe even feed them some sweet honey while we observe their proboscis with a magnifying glass. This is also a unique chance to observe what they are doing at night and view their anatomy up close with a digital microscope.
We will drink home crafted tea or kombucha infusions in tiny cups paired with a raw honey tasting.
Other things to note
Sometimes the GPS navigates people down the hill by Jersey Mikes but the location is towards the middle of the hill on Sierra Villa Drive.

I have been keeping bees for about 7 years now and have learned to observe their behavior in the wild and in captivity. I am passionate about bees because there is no better time than now to tell people that not just bees but many other beneficial pollinators are dying all over the world due to toxic pesticides and habitat loss. I am grateful that I have this opportunity to immerse and share my knowledge with people about the secret life bees. I have been studying the ancient history, scientific and agricultural importance of this amazing animal. Therefore I am blending what I've learned from them with my knowledge as a yoga therapist and putting together a healing and meditative experience for all to share and enjoy.
