America was made by the small family farm. So, you will go back in time to visit the Book Family Farm. Farmer Book with 50 years experience in farming will walk you out into the pasture to visit the chickens and learn about their environment and their egg-mobile. There you will also feed the chickens and gather the eggs. Following that you will pet and feed goats. Bossie the milk cow will also be waiting for you to visit her. If it is milking time, you will watch the milking process followed by pouring and filtering of the milk and learning all about fresh unprocessed milk and how to make various milk products like kefir, yogurt, and butter. You will have a chance to ask the farmer all your questions as well as spend some time just relaxing and enjoying the farm. There is a play area and lots of shady grass area for the kids to run around and enjoy. October - March we also provide optional Bird watching tours, specifically water fowl. You'll take a walk through the property (one mile back) and may see Sand hill cranes, bald eagles, and as many as 7 species of duck and geese. In October there is a pumpkin patch to enjoy and pick from.
