À propos de ce logement

Come enjoy this back-to-nature, goddess girl sanctuary at a discount while putting your Amazon skills to good use! No experience necessary, just positive energy 1-2 hours a day providing nurturing TLC to unique land & structures.

Le logement

"What a delight that within hours after getting off the 5 plus hours flight I was able to be out in the yard pulling up wild raspberries. Yes my earthly self loved that...Warmth, saltwater, beautiful views--life is good!! What a nice change from the impersonal, sterile comforts of most hotel rooms."
Marion
writer, filmmaker

Unplug from the matrix and share intimate sacred time/space in goddess girl energy while helping to support this creative womb of tropical rainforest kept intentionally free-flowing rather than conquered & manicured.

This environment is always more Unconventional Experience than typical home or "accommodations." There is a sense of timelessness as native birds feast on tall grasses, and the focus is on people getting back in touch with their best selves. Sometimes families of wild pigs with spotted piglets come out of the forest, and if you're quiet, they hang around awhile to graze & root.

Centered, self-sufficient, creative, collaborative, inventive, spiritually-minded folk with good energy tend to resonate well here. :)

"LOVED it here! Thank you for giving me safe haven!"

Hand-built cabins & rooms with a beautiful shared common kitchen & transitioning-towards-solar indoor/outdoor bathrooms in a quiet, laid-back, sacred, wild-nature atmosphere (expanding banana tree forest, help yourself!) with a growing emphasis on eco-friendly, low-impact sustainability.

Do your own thing beyond the 1-2 hours per day energetic helping out around here, and enjoy spontaneous, interesting conversations & shared potlucks as mutually desired. Dialog topics oftenrange from the Hawaii-Atlantis-Lemuria connection to creativity to spiritual health to befriending this wild land (which can sometimes include learning about/tending a variety of wild-crafted flowers, teas, & Hawaiian La'au Lapa'au medicinals if you’re here for awhile!).

What does it mean to be more eco-friendly while having a lower human impact on an environment? To be with & in nature rather than admiring it from afar?

In volcanic tropical rainforest (like on the planet, in general, now that climate patterns are changing!), the weather & its effects can feel louder & more present than people. For those used to more bustling city-rhythms & controlled environments kept just-so, this can be an adjustment. Your skin WILL be touched by plant life, and by the elements (sun & moon shine, air, dewdrops, rain!) :)

This environment ebbs & flows with iridescent skink lizards, butterflies, dragonflies, chameleons, singing tree frogs, roaming families of wild pigs, outdoor kitties...and also creative/spiritual humans, from time to time. (So far, things like mosquitoes have happily been rare.)

We prioritize protecting & respecting nature in its natural state.

We do have electricity for things like lights, refrigeration, cooking, but are in the process of transitioning to solar showers, for example, and we make it a point to try & collaborate with the Spirit of the Land rather than trying to conquer it, by learning to inventively recycle, repair, reuse -- fixing & fashioning things with natural materials whenever possible -- rather than always discarding to consume. Which can sometimes be quite an adventure! ;)

Things it would be Good to Bring With You:

* A flashlight (the stars are gorgeous when skies are clear because night can be quite dark when the moon isn't full),

* Sturdy shoes & easy slip on/off shoes (like most places in Hawaii, we do "no shoes inside"),

* Warm & cool weather clothing (days tend to be mild year-round; nights can sometimes be chilly),

* Whatever you like to eat. People can potluck share with each other, if they like, and there's a "food-to-share shelf" anyone is welcome to take from & add to (which sometimes has lots of yummy stuff on it;, other times not, just depends whose been here & what they contribute!),

* And your spirit of adventure! :)

Longer-term stays & studies sometimes possible.

Also, tailored nurturing with optional (licensed) hot lava rock massage (3-7 days), private creative retreats with professional assessment of work-in-progress (3 to 12 days), and Ancient Mystery School Intensives with visits to sacred sites & magic happily arranged!

Inquire. :)

Autres remarques

This tropical, shared, evolution-in-progress is located within rustic rainforest on an active volcano, and anyone who stays here agrees to be respectful of others while also being 100% responsible for their own needs, safety, and belongings.

New Friends: We have free wireless here for your convenience :) but in the spirit of nature-based balance & non-techie focus, PLEASE NOTE -- as your Goddess Gal host, I am NOT online every day...which is why things here are set up for goddess gals, couples & families to be able to “Instant Book”…& then we can speak to each other directly, after airbnb gives us each other's phone #'s!

If you happen to have questions you'd like answered before you book, I'm happy to answer them; just know that sometimes I'm on my computer a lot & you'll hear from me instantly, while other times it may take a little bit before I am next doing electronics...thanks!

So, house guidelines:

We are consciously substance-use (smoke/alcohol/drug) free. :)

Mutually-agreeable check-in times are set up in advance.

And a Special Note to our Male Friends: Since this shared home environment has a "Goddess Girl" focus at this time, with private women's retreats of one kind or another happening regularly, we generally welcome individual women/couples/families but are generally NOT welcoming single men or groups of men we don't already personally know at this moment in time.

(If you would like to stay here & this caveat applies, please just contact me to see when a stay might feel right & possible; please do NOT Instant Book, because that would likely mean you'd need to cancel!)

Thanks SO MUCH for honoring our unique intentions in this time of the Divine Feminine rising towards harmonizing things here on lovely Planet Earth! :)

Price is per person, and includes 1-2 hours work trade per day with a 3-day minimum, providing land & dwellings with good energy TLC. :)

In general, Partial Work Trade projects can be accomplished a bit each day, or all at once weekly (especially for those who are here longer-term).

Your energetic contributions are likely to be from the list of things we generally do around here: Hawaiian-style hand-clearing/maintaining of jungle trails/grounds; weather-protect staining/painting of structures (artistic creativity encouraged!); spring cleaning & organizing; laundry; planting or weeding; building/fixing/maintaining things like food planter boxes, gates woven from rainforest materials, & tarped storage jungleows; the getting & bringing away of materials like plant matter, household supplies, trash/kitchen recycling, propane, rescue kitty & gardening supplies, etc.; &/or whatever the priorities are for this environment during the time you are here! :)

No experience necessary, just a willing & happy-to-learn attitude! :)

(Though if you happen to have specific skills you would like to share, do let us know. They may be useful, depending on current priorities!)

Since the use & care of this environment and related tools is part of this arrangement, a security deposit of $300 is held until you depart with agreements met & everything left in good condition. Thanks so much for sharing your best, dependable self while you are here!

Those who share sacred time/space here via a Partial Work Trade arrangement will also most LIKELY have a room/cabin all to themselves (since we generally keep things quiet here these days)...but it is possible, at times, that those helpers in spaces with more than 1 bed may get to room with another visiting goddess gal, just fyi. :)

Thanks again in advance for your support which makes this unique, shared environment more & more beautiful & user-friendly with each set of helping hands.

Looking forward to sharing unique adventures with YOU! :)

I opted for a partial work-trade agreement for my stay at Kaluna with Cristina. You will find Cristina a generous host: with her time, information, and spirit. Kulana is secluded and peaceful yet central by car to the Volcanoes food stores and so much local business and culture. I stayed 6 nights and found Kulana a perfect location for travelling around the whole of Big Island by car and also to relax and be present whilst on the property. I loved the singing frogs at night and the gentle nighttime rain and made friends with Kulana's newest kitty, 'Healing Kitty', who is recovering in Cristina's care from a scrappy past - miss you already Calamity! (my nickname for my little buddy). My work-trade involved some pruning of wild raspberry bushes, a sweep and mop, and assisting Cristina with a laundry trip. My muscles loved the ache of doing some garden/yard work. The basic cleaning was no stress. And after doing the laundry Cristina and I went on a half-day adventure and had a delicious Lilikoi Pie taste experience! (Now top of my favourite sweet things list!) Amenties are entirely suitable for your basic (and then some) holiday needs: the kitchen is well equipped for more than basic meals (if you so choose), delicious double filtered water that Cristina catches on the property, and a comfortable warm bed. Be prepared for a cold shower or preparing your own warm bath if you miss out on the solar shower (A cold shower is pwrfect on a hot day or after some garden work! And I kind of liked my self-prepard bath from a bowl - a reminder of simpler times from my childhood). Cristina's property offers peace and quiet and sacred space, a truly beautiful experience and the perfect place for me personally to have started my Hawaiian islands unwind on my holiday. Thank you so much Cristina! Mahalo! Aloha!

I'm so happy to have found this place! I wanted to get out into nature for a few days and Cristina's home was a great venue. Built in harmony with the natural environment, the home provides a way to peacefully disconnect from life's distractions. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to work in the gardens and see the real Hawaii. I am grateful for this experience!

Staying at Cristina's place was a treat. It is truly a jungle sanctuary; a great place to get away from it all and feel close to nature. Great location if you want to check out the Volcano! Cristina was a great host, ready with advice about the area and happy to have a good conversation or give you space to be alone, whatever you prefer! My small cabin was basic but perfect, and the house is very nice and well kept, with a well equipped kitchen. I did the partial work trade, which I feel was very good value. The work was varied and not too hard, and allowed me to really experience the land. Overall a very cosy stay. One thing I will mention: If you are travelling without a vehicle it is quite out of the way, but if you don't mind a bit of walking/hitching/bussing, you can easily make day trips to Hilo and the Volcano. Definitely recommend a stay here. :)

"Cristina's place" holds a magical space near Volcano. It was the perfect detox from urban society but as there is WIFI; I was still able to check my email and continue business while feeling like I was in a lush green Hawaiian retreat. Cristina is a warm and friendly host and there was no issue with check in or communication. Would recommend.

I left the goddess retreat feeling refreshed, focused and bubbling with creativity. I stayed for two weeks and was very welcomed by Cristina and this land that has been well loved. Working with the natural rhythms of the days and weather patterns helped to remind and solidify an appreciation of our synergetic relationship to all our surrounding here on earth. I will definitely return when I come back to to big island!

Each day is a gift.

I enjoy some doing & some being in this volcanic wonderland among spindly dancing ohia lehua trees, tall hapu'u ferns, cultivated Hawaiian medicinals, wild fruiting strawberry guava saplings (in season)...and a quiet, ever-evolving bit of rare & not-so-rare plants, critters, creativity, magic, people.

Looking forward to the gift of meeting you! :)
