My partner is a retired green politician who has worked for many years to safeguard species, people and planet as well as create theatrical environmental activist campaigns. I am a food and wellbeing sustainability educator and consultant as well as a cook recognised for my recipes, events and work championing good, clean and fair food as well as education with regards to eating for the wellbeing of people and planet. I work with children, adults for a cross section of the community including those with special needs to CEOS and families. I can also be found in the garden as much of my work is teaching organic gardening and inspiring organisations to get their staff to plant food for the many benefits and joys it brings.
Another aspect of my work and play is as a environmental stylist and designer. Our home is very recycled and includes many of our creations of hot water system lights shades and sink made from vintage milk separators. I have designed many events and concepts that embrace my principles for people and planet.
We are very quiet and enjoy the luxury of being in the bush surrounded by the tweets and insects. Our religion is the daily swim across the bay which you are more than welcome to join us for at 8am or surfing in one of the many close by beaches. My partner has surfed for over 40 years around the world yet still rates are beaches locally as the best waves. We enjoy yoga on a regular basis and as much possible to participate in the prolific amount of community events that the Northern Rivers has on offer. Eating is usually at our table which goes without saying is local, seasonal and full of love and herbs from the garden or at Francisco's Table a pop up convivial restaurant headed up by Francisco and his wife Emma which is full of generosity, local and amazing food. If we travel we stay at places that offer an experience and mirror the type of life we lead at home. Our favorite memories of food are eating alfesco in an agritourismo in Sardignia and for me sharing soup on a food stool in the markets of Hanoi before it opened.
Whilst we love simplicity I notice and care about the thoughtfulness and detail that people go to whether it be in the flowers in a jam jar or the cleaning under the bed I like to leave things as I would like to find them.
We love our home and hope that you will love the place too.
We tread very lightly on anywhere we stay. I am very tidy and enjoy a shoe free, chemical free environment.
My partners's motto ...live simply that others may simply live (including our native species) and mine is you are what you eat so be mindful.
This is the perfect pace for a couple that love to surf, chill and and be away from it all. We are happy to take babies under 9 months.
We watch TV rarely and prefer ABC and SBS. I love the radio ABC Design.
Depending on availability we offer local, seasonal organic meals for some evenings at your place to save you going into town.
