À propos de ce logement

Lofted double bed in a big, bright top floor apartment in the treetops. Close to Close to Wicker Park, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, locally-sourced restaurants, mom and pop eateries, cafes and bakeries, organic groceries, boutique shopping, thrift stores, yoga studios, spas. Short bus or leisurely walk to train to museums and shopping. .The place is vintage, not rehabbed, so somewhat shabby and quirky and also cute. You'll love it for the spaciousness, location, back porch. I live here, too.

I had a great stay, it was exactly what I needed as a newcomer to Chicago just after I moved and while looking for a more permanent place to stay. Thank you!

Marcelyn is wonderful. There is a certain buoyancy and disciplined vivacious to her spirit that is hard to come and also to fully conceptualized as is perhaps the release of arrow that flies with total grace onto its target———strike. Her space, too, carries an attractive eclectic quality about it, which reminded me of apartments in East Berlin—light comes in, the floors talk where they are not muffled by a Persian carpet and curious still lives appear unintentionally from things collected and laid down here and there.

M is an incredible host. I'm staying at her apartment while I get settled in Chicago, begin working and looking for a more permanent residence. Marcelyn has consistently gone out of her way to make my stay warm, comfortable and easy. Both of our schedules are constantly shifting, but she is always available and accommodating. The apartment is open, clean, bright and peaceful. My room is exactly as described in the ad and perfect for my extended stay. I get a lot of work done at the desk and the lofted bed set-up is cozy and out of the way. The apartment is located about 10 blocks from both the Western and Division blue line stops -- a short walk -- but merely streets away from some great local coffee shops, breakfast spots, vintage stores, et cetera on Division. If you have a bike you can get to Logan Square or West Loop in less than 20 minutes. It's a great location -- not in the middle of the commotion on Milwaukee Ave, but just a short trip away.

Marcelyn did a great job making sure we arrived at her place. She was very flexible and accommodating, considering we were not sure what time we were going to arrive. The space was wonderful-very roomy, and we had access to the whole apartment, and had our own bathroom that we shared with other Airbnb guests she was hosting. The room was exactly what we needed- somewhere comfy and safe to sleep at night. The bed was very comfortable and very creatively built- it is a lofted queen size bed. The loft and ladder were very stable and secure, even with two normal sized adults sleeping up there- but perhaps if you have a problem climbing a ladder this would not be a good choice for you. Marcelyn was very welcoming, kind, and helpful, even though we didn't get a chance to interact with her much since we weren't at the flat for very long. She was so nice to offer us to help ourselves to some snacks in the fridge, and the next morning she had coffee, almond butter, croisants, and fresh bread waiting for us. She really went above and beyond and was a great host. I would definitely recommend staying here, as it is in the nice neighborhood of Ukrainian Village with lots of yummy restaurants not a far walk from there. One thing however- if you have any problem walking up steep stairs this may not be the place for you because the back stairs are extremely steep. Overall I would stay here again for sure :)

Marcelyn was a very awesome host. Even though my flight was delayed 2 hours and I arrived there in the midnight, she waited for me and welcomed. The room was antique and very cool. Especially, the view of sunrise in Chicago from the top of the house was really amazing. The location was also nice, so I could go to famous places and o'hare airport easily. I really recommend her!!

I love this city, neighborhood, and my home which I'm delighted to share with others.
I was an Airbnb host in two of my previous homes, one with a partner, and now I'm back at it in my new space.
My main occupation is teaching yoga. I also work at my favorite small independent music venue, and intern with a local ecological guru mostly composting.
Travel, yoga and meditation, the people I love, spending time outdoors, appreciating art and artful living, and riding my bicycle most places - all make life wonder full.
I've lived in Chicago since 1995 and know my way around pretty well. I'm glad to help with recommendations of where to go and how to get there, especially for those interested in yoga, off-the-beaten-track/quirky spaces, music, and art.
While I'm happy to share the space, I also appreciate private time, respect the privacy of guests, and may not be around much. When I'm not here I'm often still reachable by text or email.
