Gated parking behind the house is FREE with your booking! Responsible use of the kitchen is welcome.
In your suite will be
- bottles of water
- luxury linens
- a hand-sewn quilt from Lancaster County, PA
- and thoughtfully selected toiletries
(we always aim to have eco-conscious and chem-free options + special items like dry shampoo, makeup remover, body lotion and hand cream, plus we're rotating in handmade body products from responsible Etsy shops!)
Philadelphia is the City of Brotherly Love, and since its Quaker days has been known for tolerance and inclusion - one of the reasons we love it! In that spirit, our commitment to hosting in a space free of discrimination is absolute - whether or not we look the same or have different lives, feel welcome. :) If sharing the house with different kinds of folks doesn't fit your style, we're sure you'll find an AirBnb that does.

Échanges avec les voyageurs
We'll generally either be out or working from home during your stay, so we're happy to answer questions, but we'll be out of your way.
We make excellent restaurant recommendations, and are travel enthusiasts - if you're a big traveler, we'll probably really get along! My husband speaks German and Mandarin, and I speak some (limited) French and Spanish.
Laundry is done by Wash Cycle, an eco-conscious laundry service that delivers by bicycle; their detergents are scent-free. When we're doing laundry ourselves, we generally use detergent with a mild scent.
Check in starts at 2pm, and we'll send you details for getting in and settled! Checkout from the upstairs is firmly 11am, but you're always welcome to leave bags downstairs after check out. $25 to replace lost bedroom door keys. $50 Late Checkout Amenity deducted from the security deposit for checkouts between 11am and 12pm (noon).
We don't allow smoking in the house (or vaping that leads to strong smells), but there are ashtrays in the front and back, and you're welcome to hang out either place. **AirBnb supports hosts in cancelling reservations, without refund to the guest, for breaking these rules.**
If it's muddy or wet out, please take off shoes near the front door. No windows open if it is raining, please.
Small list of no's:
No excessively loud noise
No more than one Guest of Guest in the house please, unless we OK it ahead of time, and no Guests of Guest after 10pm. (*Any guests staying overnight must be on the reservation.*)
No leaving the front door unlocked - please lock the door when you're coming or going.
Other rooms in the house not described in the listing are our private spaces, or part of our other Airbnb space. Please only use areas of the house described in the listing to avoid confusion with other guests. Looking forward to your visit!

We love traveling and understanding how things work (our work involves manufacturing). Also plants - we'll tell you all about our plants, but only if you're interested. :) We're also big fans of history, philosophy, theater and Star Trek. Since we used to live in NYC, we now appreciate large, airy, uncluttered rooms, so that's what you'll get when you're our guest! We love meeting new people, so AirBnB is great for us. Sarah started out using her middle name, Kate, on AirBnb, but recently switched back to using Sarah to avoid confusion.
