Gorgeous apartment in the heart of Glasgow's vibrant west end. We've done all we can to make this bright, spacious flat a fantastic place to stay - combining a touch of retro style and elegance with great coffee, a big comfy bed and a power shower.
Everything has been done to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The interior has been recently refurbished - given a grace and elegance appropriate to this landmark building designed by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson in 1865. But with a touch of retro-styling and quirkiness.
The living room is bright and spacious with high ceilings, ornate cornicing, a marble fireplace and large sash windows which let in lots of light. There's plenty of room to relax, eat, cook, watch TV or listen to music. There's a HD TV and DVD player and you'll find a selection of DVDs, books, games and guide books. There's an iPhone dock. And plenty of cushions and throws. So please feel free to get comfy and put your feet up. The flat is centrally heated. It warms up quickly and it's easy to adjust the temperature to suit you.
The kitchen has everything you'll need: dishwasher, combined oven/grill/microwave, an induction hob and a fridge with a small freezer compartment. There's plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils so you can use whatever you like and just pop it in the dishwasher. No need to keep washing up.
There's a range of herbs, spices, oils etc so if you're planning to cook you should only need to buy main ingredients. There's a range of tea bags and coffee pods for the Nespresso machine to start you off. Help yourself to muesli, porridge and cornflakes. You'll find milk in the fridge when you arrive.
The sofa easily converts to a double sofa-bed with feather duvet and pillows stored inside. The shutters can be closed to keep in the warmth and keep out the light.
The bedroom has a sturdy kingsize bed with a memory foam mattress topper. Feather duvet and pillows - If you're allergic let me know and we'll replace them. The full-length curtains are thermal-lined and the shutters can be closed too. The bedside lights can be switched on and off with just the touch of a hand. In the tall chest of drawers you'll find a hair-dryer. The wardrobe has plenty of wooden hangers.
The bathroom is bright and fresh with a good-sized bath and a powerful shower with constant hot water. There are white fluffy towels. Hand-wash, shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. A socket for a shaver or toothbrush. A big mirror. Plenty of light, hooks and places to put your things. There's even a toilet seat that closes on its own. Well almost. You just have to start it off.
In the hall there's a full-length mirror, hooks for jackets, plenty of space to kick off your shoes. And a cupboard that houses a washer/dryer, iron, ironing board etc. There's also a drying rack that fits above the bath. In the hall you'll find movement sensitive night-lights to guide you if you need to get up in the night.
My apartment is really popular so If you're interested in staying please get in touch as it often gets fully booked.

You will have exclusive use of the apartment during your stay. The apartment is on the ground floor of a four story terraced house that has been converted in to four flats. The neighbours are all very friendly. The flat is all on one level but there is a step up in to the living room and four steps up to the main entrance.
The check out time is by 11.00 am and check in time is from 3.00.
The closest underground is Kelvinbridge. Only three stops from the city centre. The station is a approximately a 5 minute walk (I can do it in 3 if I'm rushed) but it will probably take you a bit longer if you're a slow walker or you've got luggage. Buses go along Gibson St, University Ave and Great Western Rd where it's also fairly easy to pick up a taxi. This is a great place to explore Glasgow from. If you want to go further afield, less than 10 minutes on the Underground will get you within an easy walk of Central and Queen St Stations and Buchanan St Bus Station.
Parking in Hillhead is largely for residents with permits. However, there is a limited number of metered parking spaces on the next block and in the surrounding streets but you can't be guaranteed a space so if you're coming by car there's a good chance that you'll need to drop off your luggage, park a short distance away and walk back. If you're coming by car please let me know so that I can send you a list of possible options.

If I'm around I'm happy to pop in to give you any help you might need or recommend places to visit but I appreciate that you may prefer to be left alone to enjoy your stay without interruption. Once I've checked that everything is okay for you I will leave you to enjoy your stay and trust that you will let me know if you need any help.
You'll find easy to follow instructions for anything that may need them. I work full-time so I have a friend who will have the place looking gorgeous for your arrival.
I've written a manual to help make your stay as easy and relaxing as possible. It tells you simply and clearly where everything is and how it all works. I've included emergency contact numbers, directions to the nearest chemist, what to do when checking out, Wifi password etc. I thought about posting it here but it's a pretty dry read so I'm not going to subject you to that ... yet!! That said if you would like to peruse it at your leisure before you arrive just let me know when you book and I'll email you a copy.
Enjoy yourself. Make yourself at home. Lounge on the sofa. Run a deep bath. Have a lie in .... you get the picture!
Apart from that the usual stuff applies. Please take care of this lovely flat and leave it as you found it.
Please put everything back where it came from.
Please empty the fridge.
Please take the rubbish out.
Please don't leave dirty dishes. Dishes can be put in the dishwasher as you leave but please remember to switch it on.
And if you strip the beds and leave the laundry in an nice neat pile we'll love you forever.
Oh and my own personal bugbear ... please don't use the worktop as a chopping board.
Apart from that:
No overnight guests.
No smoking. If you do smoke please go well away from the building and close the doors behind you to keep the heat in. And the smoke out.
As a kindness to our neighbours please be quiet after 11.30.
I'm from Glasgow, Scotland. I'm a happy creative person who loves spending time with my boys, my friends and my wonderful boyfriend Jonathan. I like dancing and music. Especially funk and soul. A big fan of a good festival. The Northern Soul Dance Class at Festival No.6 in Portmeirion was an unforgettable highlight of 2015. I love to go exploring. Doesn't matter if it's a trip round the wilds of Scotland with a tent or a wander through the back streets of a foreign city. There's always something interesting to see. I like to take life as it comes and try to make the most of every situation.
I've been working as a therapist for over 15 years and loving it. But before that I sold organic skin care, was a wedding florist and an Interior designer. I also had a brief stint as a catering assistant in the music industry and spent my summers whilst at art school washing dishes for Bob Dylan and ACDC!!
