À propos de ce logement
The entire home (The Frida House) is yours. Very close to downtown & UTEP & with easy I-10 access. Killer views from the back deck, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a kitchenette. There is a queen and a twin bed so it accommodate 3, but 4 adults are OK (but someone is going to have to sleep on the sofa which isn't a sofabed). Hi-speed Wi-Fi, $0 Cleaning Fee, $0 Depsit. PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING, Thx!
A short walk to the UTEP campus, to EP Community College, to the new Triple A baseball park, and to downtown museums/coffee shops/ restaurants. Less than a mile from two hospitals and major shopping centers are 7 miles to the west (Sunland Park) and 8 miles to the east (Cielo Vista/Fountains at Farah). Ft Bliss is 15 minutes away. This cute bungalow is located in a historic district surrounded by many homes that are over 100 years old.
This being an older neighborhood, students and families reside here happily but there are some homes around this vintage block that need TLC. There is evidence too of an influx of pride-of-ownership. A fire station that houses an ambulance is one block away and once in a rare while an ambulance will zoom by at night, siren blaring. An afternoon ice-cream truck will pass by when the weather is nice.
This 1915 bungalow has two separate bedrooms, one bedroom sports a new queen size bed and the other has a twin bed. Each bedroom has a desk and decent closet space. In a pinch someone can sleep in the living room on the longer sofa but the sofa is not a futon nor a sofa-bed.
The bathroom is a Jack & Jill style bathroom (accessible from both bedrooms). It is a full bathroom with a shower/bathtub, toilet and sink. The bathroom has a north-facing window with privacy blinds and a ceiling exhaust fan with heater.
The kitchenette has a sink, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven and a hot plate (induction cooktop). The kitchen is sparsely equipped with basic dishes/utensils as well as a pot and a pan. Also available are coffee/tea supplies and basic spices. The home does NOT have a four burner stove/oven or dishwasher or laundry.
On-street parking (free, non-metered) is available and is easy to find except during school hours on those days when UTEP/EPCC are in session. College students will take up the street parking from around 8:00 am to around 4 pm on school days but evening parking is always easy and you’ll usually find a spot right in front of the house. The Frida House does not have a driveway.
Pets are not allowed. Sorry.

I have a full time job and love to meet the guests, but also respect privacy and the desire for guests to be on their own. Just let me know how I can best support you during your stay! I live right next door, but The Frida House is entirely separate with it's own yard space and access. Only the backyard deck is shared. Since I live so close I can promptly attend to your needs, but if you need privacy, I'll be scarce. We’re hoping to offer you a comfortable, peaceful home so please let us know if something is amiss.
Sunset Heights is a wonderful neighborhood, one of the oldest in El Paso, with beautiful historic homes and a vibrant mix of buildings types, architectural styles and people. With its proximity to the university and to the central business district, there is always something going on in the neighborhood. Although Sunset Heights is a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places, the neighborhood still has a reputation as a “hipster haven always on the verge of being restored to its old glory." You'll love this area!
In general, El Paso is a place where you’ll need a car. Alternatively, the El Paso bus system passes within 2 blocks of The Frida House. Uber is also an option plus there are bike share stations nearby as well as a bicycle rental shop one mile away. You can easily walk to downtown El Paso and if you’re energetic you can easily continue walking into Juarez, Mexico.
CLEANING FEE - $0, SECURITY DEPOSIT- $0. The Frida House has a television and cable TV. The living room fireplace is not operational. BRING YOUR PASSPORT if you are interested in visiting nearby downtown Juarez, I have a friend who can provide great tours of the historic part of downtown Juarez including the classic cocktail clubs.
We are a no-smoking environment but feel free to smoke outside in the back deck or in the front porch. We want you to enjoy your stay while in town but remember that we're in a residential neighborhood, so respecting normal 10 p.m. "quiet" hours is much appreciated. Check in is anytime after 3 pm and check out is anytime before at 11:00 am.
