This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. We were here in the middle of winter and the fires, heaters and electric blankets kept it lovely inside once they had been going for a while. Don't brother bringing a book because the library is amazing! It is fully functional with full kitchen, laundry and 2 full bathrooms. The living/entertaining areas are great with a TV, Wifi, pool table and fires (one which can be used to roast marshmallows). The kitchen is amazing and can easily be used to cook a big meal. You can easily seat 16 for a full sit down meal in the dining areas. You could comfortably sleep 12 in the 5 bedrooms. The bathrooms are modern but unfortunately the water pressure is not the greatest; the showers get hot, there's just not much water which comes out. Bring what you want from supermarkets etc. with you as it takes quite some time to get to shops. The dogs who are around are very cute and very friendly, they'll appreciate someone who will throw a stick for them. Definitely visit, we loved it.

This place is quite outstanding. Well suited to 2 families - there were 9 of us. Brilliant grounds, well appointed kitchen and living areas and plenty to do. Jon was brilliant - friendly, warm, hospitable and provided a ute ride and horse feeding experience. Arlo, Tiggy and Monte ( dogs) added to the fun for the children. Highly recommended.

I'm a third generation farmer originally from the flat wheat country of north west NSW now relishing the four season climate and mountain views of the south west tablelands. With my wife Meg, I run Murray Grey breeding cattle on Wattagan along with a couple of pet sheep, a retired race horse and several dogs. Wattagan Homestead is a sprawling seven bedroom house which now, with the children gone, we are opening to visitors so they can enjoy country life as much as we do.
I think I am pretty much your quintessential bush bloke - easy going and practical. I'm happy to show you around the farm if you like but if it's peace and quiet you're after I'm just as happy to disappear. We can also offer great, home cooked meals if you give us some notice.
Over the years we have formed strong friendships and contacts in the local district so we are well placed to recommend the best local attractions including the highly regarded cool climate wineries.
