The location is very convenient; walking distance to pretty much anything you need in Waikiki from the beach to shopping to convenience stores (ABC) and restaurants. We also liked the fact the the place came with free parking; other places in Waikiki will charge $25-30 per day to park, so the value for the location is great if you have a car! The balcony was our favorite part of the apartment; it had a great view and was very breezy. You can also catch a beautiful sunrise from the balcony too. Check-in was easy; detailed description was provided via email with the lockbox code and check-out was easy as well (leave the key inside and lock the place). I also liked that laundry/dryer was available, although it's located on the first floor. There are about 5 washing machines and 6 dryers and it'll cost you $1 per load to wash, $0.75 to dry. The place wasn't as clean as I had hoped, but it wasn't "dirty" either. The building is on the older side, which isn't a bad thing, but it doesn't have a new, remodeled look. The bathtub had brown stains but at least the water drained well. We also came across 1 medium cockroach in the bathroom (on its back dying; so we killed and flushed it), and many baby roaches in the kitchen (they looked more like baby beetles, but i'm pretty sure they were tiny cockroaches). However, cockroaches are considered a normal thing in Hawaii and pretty much anywhere you stay, you will most likely come across one, so if you prepare yourself for it, you won't freak out. Since I expected to see roaches, it didn't phase me...plus I had seen them in other places in Hawaii prior to this one. So if you don't plan to cook much (food will attract more roaches) and care most about staying in a convenient location and will be out most of the time (like us), this place will suit your needs. Oooh, and there also is a bit of street noise (cars honking, obnoxious loud motorcycles, basically city noise) so if you're sensitive to noise, bring earplugs to sleep at night. I didn't think the noise was that bothersome, but I'm also from a large city and may be used to city noise.
