The Hibiscus House is a comfortable, bright and light, 2 bedroom ranch style house. The house has maple hardwood floors throughout which is complemented with area rugs.
The bathroom: If you are taller than average or have mobility considerations you may find the toilet placement in our house a tight squeeze. It has not been an issue in 13 years of renting, but please look at the picture of
our bathroom in our listing.
The kitchen and master bedroom (1 Queen bed) and full bath are facing east (backyard) and thus get plenty of morning light. The guest bedroom (1 twin & 1 full size bunkbed) and living room face west and thus get plenty of afternoon light.
We have window ac units in the master bedroom and the living room which are on opposite ends of the house, yet most of our guests find it unnecessary except for the occasional heatwave. Due to the East/West layout and proximity to the shore you will find the cottage is Cape Cod ''bright and breezy'', and we also have fans. In the shoulder season when heating is needed you will love the toasty radiator heat-like having a warm fireplace in every room!
The kitchen with table, is fully equipped with all the utensils, pots & pan, dishware, range/oven, fire extinguisher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, blender, thermos - you name it. There wasn't room for a dishwasher - that is manual and dish washing soap and a new sponge and clean dishtowels are always provided. Here you will also find helpful brochures, restaurant menus, a map, supermarket directions, a list of dog friendly beaches, information about ''hidden'' Cape Cod beaches, running routes, and favorite walks, playgrounds, free tennis courts, where to find free parking in Hyannis. etc.
The living room and the guest bedroom both have televisions. Vcrs, Dvd players and stereo (living room only) The house has wifi. And you will find a small library of movies to watch and books to read, as well as games. Portable Foosball game (in basement).
Exit to the backyard through the kitchen door and you will find a gas grille with tank and backup gas tank, a charcoal grille (bring your briquettes), a bird feeder, the ever popular hammock, outdoor shower, and a convenient trash bin on the driveway side of the house. The backyard feels fairly private.
Use the bulkhead to enter the basement where you will find the washer and dryer games and sand toys. This is a good place to store your bicycles when not in use. The bulkhead has a padlock.

'We love to take walks on all of the beaches and enjoy all of the natural beauty around us as well as the unique look of Cape Cod light.
Like a lot of our friends "We have sand in our shoes" an expression which means that we love Cape Cod and it will always be in our hearts.
