Room to breathe with an ocean breeze! Our peaceful home sits on 1.5 acres surrounded by scrub pines just 500 feet from Cape Cod Bay. Perfect as a restful retreat, with access to a private beach, public transportation and an easy drive to major cities.

Cape Kole is a two-story, owner-occupied home with a spacious bedroom for rent.

Greetings! And welcome to our listing. We try to keep our calendar up to date, but before proceeding with your booking, please send us a note inquiring about availability.

Our Scandinavian-style home is on the northern border of Cape Cod, and just a minute's walk to a private, neighborhood beach on Cape Cod Bay.

Your spacious bedroom is in soft tones of seafoam green and white. There is a queen-size bed with plenty of room for a full-size air mattress or two single air mattresses, if you are traveling with your children or teens. Please let us know in our initial conversation if you will need either. There is a dresser, desk and closet for your convenience and a comfy chair just right for reading and writing.

Your room has a TV with cable and Wi-Fi.
There is a bathroom attached to your room.

We have a beautiful garden with a patio, table and plenty of comfy chairs for relaxing. If you'd like, you may enjoy your breakfast outdoors! We share the great outdoors with plenty of mosquitoes, so come prepared with your preferred form of repellent!

Terry works from home as an illustrator and will be your hostess and breakfast chef! When making your reservation, please let us know if you have food allergies or preferences (gluten free, lactose intolerant, vegetarian, vegan or paleo). This will help Terry prepare the perfect breakfast for you. Weekday breakfasts might be more akin to a continental breakfast...but, as Terry adores breakfast, Saturday breakfasts will be a full spread.

At this time we are not able to give guests their own cooking privileges, but can recommend quite a variety of local eateries for lunch and dinner.

If you need help in finding out about attractions and activities in the area, Terry is a great resource.

Terry and Bill lived in Europe for more than 15 years. Bill is fluent in French and German and gives a good go at Dutch. Terry is "try-lingual." She might start a sentence in one language, forget some words and "try" to finish it in another language! If you are coming to the area from Europe, we will do our best to communicate!

Cape Kole is located in a great leisure spot!

The private beach is just a minute's walk from the house.
There is a spider-web of streets for walking, jogging and biking.
We are 2 miles from the Cape Cod Canal, which has bike paths on either side. Great for running!

We are 2 miles from a public bus hub. Buses will take you to Hyannis on Cape Cod or to Plymouth, to Boston's South Station and to Logan Airport.

If coming by car, we are a one-hour drive to Providence, Rhode Island, a 15-minute drive to historical Plymouth and Plimoth Plantation, and a 90-minute drive to downtown Boston.

There are some great restaurants within 15 minutes in either direction.

Did I mention CAPE COD?!
Our location in Sagamore Beach (Bourne) is a gateway to the Cape, which has endless beaches and quaint towns with great shopping and art galleries galore.

In the summer months you can take total advantage of "all things ocean," including swimming, kayaking, whale watching, and even surfing on the outer Cape.

If you come in April, you may even glimpse whales from our beach and the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal as you stand on the shore. An amazing sight to see!

We are located two miles from a public bus hub in Sagamore Beach.
From there, buses will take you to Hyannis on Cape Cod or Plymouth, Boston and Logan Airport.

We are 2 minutes' drive off Route 3, which takes you to Boston; and about 10 minutes from Route 25, which feeds I-495, I-195 and I-95.

As Terry is an illustrator and an art teacher, you might enjoy booking a private lesson with her during your stay. If this sounds of interest, start the discussion with her via email. Private lessons can be held at her kitchen table studio, or out and about, by the sea, the canal or in the quaint neighboring town of Plymouth.

I love people. Strangers are only friends I haven't met yet!
I'm a bit of a tumbleweed...having lived in four foreign countries and four states in the USA.

After living in other people's countries for over 15 years, my family has returned to the US, finding ourselves delightfully planted on the shores of Cape Cod Bay. We have been blessed on both sides of the pond!

My hubby Bill is a journalist with the Associated Press - hence the traveling all over God's green acre! I'm an illustrator - which made moving around as easy as possible for my career aspirations.
Now that we are back "home" and our children are grown and on their own, I've found a niche teaching art to teens at the Plymouth Center for the Arts and the Cotuit Center for the Arts and illustrating children's books.

We certainly have had years of experience hosting friends, family, as well as exchange students; sharing with them all the incredible things we have discovered in whatever country we were in.
Now we are beginning a bit of a new adventure by opening our home to guests via Air BnB.
