À propos de ce logement
This is a traditional, completely renovated house located high above the main harbour, with wide views over the bay and islands beyond. Accessed through a network of stone-built pedestrian streets, it is only 70 m from the nearest parking zones.
The island of Skopelos, the scene of the recent film success "Mamma Mia", has 15 unique sand and pebble beaches, and a number of historical and cultural sites - and a well developed and documented network of trekking paths. Waters around the island are part of a large marine preservation park containing some rare marine life and are therefore off-limits to all non-recreational sea traffic. The Skopelos town, in its entirety, has been designated a traditional cultural preserve and its traditional architectural style is protected and is being closely regulated. All Skopelos community is proud of this unique island.

Two main bedrooms are air-conditioned and fans are available in the other bedrooms; there are two double beds and two single beds available in the total of four bedrooms. The house can be entered either through the entry door upstairs or through a lower gate opening directly into the courtyard. The kitchen is fully equipped (cooker, refrigerator, washing machine, kitchen appliances, etc.).

This is a traditional neighbourhood located in the upper parts of the Skopelos town, built around the Church of St. Spyridon. No car traffic is permitted anywhere near the house but sufficient parking is available all along the ring road higher up, some 70-100 m away. The neighbours are very friendly and helpful and a large part of their daily life is taking place outside their houses. In case of need they will also help and assist the visitors.
The house is located at a 5 min. distance to the harbour area, full of cafes, restaurants, shops and many places of entrertainment. Only 7 min. from the house, also down in the harbour area, is a bus terminal stop with regular and frequent bus sevices to all beaches and recreational sites. Close-by is also a main taxi stand, and all these transport facilities are located close to the passenger harbour quayside, connecting Skopelos to the wider world. There are also many car or motorbyke rental agencies adjacent to the harbour area. Parking can always be found close to the house.
Because of high overall levels of electricity consumption during the high tourist season, all houses in Skopelos operate on a regime which does not allow excessive use of electric appliances, especially not all of them at the same time. Specific instructions will be given upon the guests' arrival.
Just commonsense rules to serve as a guide. As many parts of the house are made of wood, it is advisable to be careful when smoking or when handling fire. Any other specific, last minute items, if applicable, will be pointed out at the time of arrival in Skopelos.

Retired architect / development planner always interested in traveling, exploring and discovering local cultures. Together with my family, we have lovingly restored this large traditional Skopelos town house which we are enjoying for the last 30 years. We are proud to be a part of the local community which is still preserving all its old local traditions.
