Guest Sarah says;
Wonderful stay at a gorgeous home! our host Helen couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating! We are so grateful to Helen for all of her help, great communication and kind efforts. It was so nice to come home to freshly made beds, awesome kitchen supplies and even fresh fruit! We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the neighbourhood as well.
Haumoana is a small seaside village situated 10 to 20 minutes from all the nearby towns. This means if you have an event to attend in the city you will be there quickly and then back to coastal living.
There are several wineries nearby with great restaurants and their own brand of delicious Hawkes Bay wines.
Haumoana has a local bar serving pizzas and all day breakfasts plus a takeaway shop serving both fish 'n chips and Asian food. The friendly 'Four Square', (small supermarket), stocks most products. There is now a new gourmet burger outlet too.
Hawkes Bay has a great choice of golf courses and yes we are five minutes from the entrance to the elite Cape Kidnappers golf course.
Your own vehicle is a must as there is so much to see and so many places to visit. Bike trails are everywhere in Hawkes Bay, great for both walking and cycling.
Just down the road the Cape Kidnappers Peninsula is home to a large colony of gannets. A great way to view the Cape and these wondrous birds is to travel by tractor along the foreshore, viewing the amazing cliffs and then walk up the hill to the gannet sanctuary or take the over land bus trip. Both ways are unique and provide wonderful views of this fantastic region. The viewing of the gannets is seasonal. A must is driving up to the top of Te Mata Peak and viewing the Bay from there. Don't forget to visit a winery or two, top class!

My husband, Ian, and I live in the downstairs flat which enables the upstairs to be listed on Airbnb for your enjoyment. We both enjoy meeting new people and hearing how much they also love the views and our home.
My main interest is Toastmasters International, a club where you learn to public speak, and this year I was voted in as President of the Pania Club. Ian belongs to the Hastings Club and he too was voted in as President.
We also enjoy walks along the beach front and eating our fish ‘n chips down at the TukiTuki river mouth. The fish ‘n chip shop is a kilometre one way and the river mouth a kilometre the other way so I think we’re easily pleased.
We love a card night with our great friends, Lindy and Barry, and have ended up calling it a “curry and card” night. Loads of laughs and fun.
