A renovated bedroom with an Italian queen foam mattress and private modern bathroom. The house is right near the Westwood Trails (it is our backyard) so the surrounding area is idyllic, gorgeous, tranquil, green, and walking distance to the shore.
This is a charming private space. You won't be let down by the surroundings. We are on a beautiful road with wild life, great trails, awesome farmer's markets, outdoor sports of biking, kayaking, walking. Jump into the back and you are in the Westwood trails.

We will let you in and give you a key to a private entrance. We are happy to answer questions and give suggestions about the surroundings. For the most part, we want you to feel comfortable so you won't see us once we welcome you.
We are very close to Leetes Island and the historic Guilford Green. It is a great place to hike, jog, or bike. You will see sheep, horses, cow, wild turkeys. It is incredibly beautiful here. It is also a great place to go antique-ing. Finally if you are a visiting professor or a professional, this is a great place to unwind away from the city. Very peaceful. You will not regret.
It is best to drive to us to get the most out of the area. The shoreline train is about 2.5 miles away and goes directly to New Haven where you can catch Metro-North. There is always the option of biking to us from the train if you don't mind the 2.5 mile distance. New Haven is 15 minutes away. Middletown is 30 minutes away. And the beach is so close. You can walk to the water as it is 1 mile away!
Feel free to bring bikes and gear for snowshoeing or skiing. We do not have kayaks but can be rented by the water.
No parties. No smoking. No pets.

I am an artist, originally from New York, and have been teaching at Yale in the School of Art for the past 4 years. We bought a house in historic Guilford a few years ago and love it. I have a son who is 8 and lives with me. We are quiet, respectful, creative, and joyful people. We tried to provide a well-designed, minimal private space, comfort of a decent mattress, pillows, down comforter, high-thread count sheets, a home away from home, a place to unwind, a contrast to the city hustle. This is it I promise. I am certain you will love it here.
