À propos de ce logement

Our restored 1800's mining cabins is nestled in the mountains, bordering Cottonwood Creek. Our one of a kind cabin offers a handcrafted odorless hot springs hot tub with an ever-flowing infinity edge and mood setting led lighting.

Le logement

We once thought the Holloway Cabin was beyond repair. In hopes of bringing in extra income to further our family dream of opening Charlotte Hot Springs Resort we began renovations on the historic cabin. For extra sleeping space we added a loft. We built a custom odorless hot springs hot tub for your relaxation pleasure. The hot tub is built with rocks from the property, adding a touch of modern we installed led lighting into the hot tub walls to create another level of ambiance. You can also enjoy the music of your choice with our out door bluetooth speakers. You will be nothing short of awed while soaking and enjoying the creek side scenery, nestled in the heart of the rocky mountains.

Beautiful well designed cabin just far enough away to feel like you are getting away from it all without needing an off-road to get there. Inside is warm with a wonderful wood burning stove and hot water from the hot springs. Space inside is functional like a boat with lots of tucked away storage and doubled up benches/couches and beds. The Merryfield's filled the place with history and love. Staying there, relaxing in their hot spring, listening to the river and reading their town and family's history at the same feels like emersive experience discovering the past. I came on a visit with my daughter looking at some colleges and cannot wait to come back with my husband. We skied Monarch while here about 45 minutes away and visited Salida. The only thing I would not do again would be to visit St. Elmo (ghost town) the drive was long (unpaved). When we got there everything was marked as no parking private property so we just turned around and left.

Sorry to hear about your experience in St. Elmo. It is a long drive! I have never noticed the no parking private property signs, I just parked where ever. Maybe we can take you for a tour next time?!?! One of the reasons people go there is for the history as well to feed the chipmunks. We hope to have you back again soon. Thanks for your kind words about our cabin!

Our SoCo Crew (Southerners in Colorado) thoroughly enjoyed our entire weekend at this cabin. The value for what you got was amazing in that this is THE place to go for that "rustic mountains cabin experience" where historic coziness is balanced with the right amount of new age technological comforts. Not far from the main Buena Vista town but yet still nestled around an abundance of glorious nature, Glen's place proved a relaxing and fun weekend getaway for myself and co-worker friends. (We had 3 couples in our party.) The cabin does sleep 6 but it can feel cramped with all 6 people (and 2 dogs) inside. However, that is not a reason at all to avoid coming. You can keep the door open to let the fresh mountain air in because you will be shuffling back in forth from inside and outside to truly best use all of the amenities this cabin has to offer. The custom built rock hot tub that is fed with natural spring water from the nearby creek was the highlight of our trip. We cooked breakfast inside using the stove/oven and grilled dinner outside on the patio deck. You just can't top sitting around the fire pit amidst the breathtaking scenery or standing inside hearing the constant roar of the rushing stream visible from the windows. We definitely took advantage of the bluetooth speaker sound system to play our cell phone jams the entire weekend as you could program it to be heard both inside and outside or in just one place or the other. It was also a pleasant surprise to see the fridge and kitchen stocked with more than adequate amounts of dishes, cooking utensils, condiments, and supplies. One of the more quirky preferences for me was that the one bathroom wasn't super tiny in that you had room to stand outside the shower and away from the toilet to get dressed. Just the overall thoughtfulness Glen provided throughout was top notch. He shared some history of the property, had a cute guest book for us to sign, pointed out all of the amenities and how to operate them, and sprinkled charm into each furnishing. There was even an assortment of bath robes and flip flops available to us for going in and out of the hot tub. Plus, the lighting system rigged out on the deck and in the hot tub was so cool because it offered us that party fun feel coupled with a sense of wonder and serenity. All in all, our group highly recommends this stay and we for sure will be back!
