Description

The room is recently renovated - clean and well-organised. There is cupboard space to keep your stuff neatly. We run a share house close to Hongik University. Our street is calm, peaceful and quiet, but close to the vibrant, lively Hongdae area.

We have a cosy, family-style place with a number of long-term guests (either studying and/or working in Seoul), so there is a nice homely feel to the place. We are also a 5 minute walk from the action centres of Hongdae and Sinchon and our guests are experts at where the in/hot places to go are and are happy to give advice and/or take you around and show you what's what.

If you search for 'bridge backpackers english cafe and bar' in the most common public shared video site (they don't allow it to be put here), you can see our place, the local neighbourhood, and directions to find us with great ease.

People all get along here really well and there is an English cafe/bar downstairs where we have quiz nights, BBQ parties, Screen English parties etc where you can mingle and meet locals who would generally be very keen to hang out and show you around, also.

We have a fully-functioning kitchen and breakfast of bread and eggs is provided (along with tea, coffee etc). We have high-speed wi-fi throughout the building and we have tables and chairs for people to set up laptops and keep in touch with the world! We also have laundry facilities that are fully catered - everything is provided. Of course, towels etc are also available.

My wife and I are usually lurking (hanging out) in our English cafe/bar downstairs and often pop up to make sure everything is clean, stocked up and organised. We're pretty approachable people and will be willing to help out in any way that we can.

As I mentioned previously, we're a quiet place, but within a 5-minute walk to less quiet places - the vibrant university districts of Hongdae (Hongik University) and Sinchon. We like to think that our location is pretty good. We're within walking distance (10-15 minutes) of Hongik, Sogang and Yonsei Universities (and a 20 minute walk to Ehwa Women's University). We even have a convenience store about 50 metres away from us (living up to its name) and there are restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc all extremely close to us. We also have the phone numbers of many local delivery restaurants if you're too tired (or hungover) to go out - fast, inexpensive and good quality!

It's extremely easy to get to from the airport - 200 metres in a straight line from Hongik University subway station which is on the Airport Railway Express (AREX). Specific details and a video will be provided after booking.

The same subway station can be used to get around town. It only takes about 10-15 minutes by (bus or) subway to get to the downtown sights with no transfers required. If you go on the same subway line in the other direction, it will take you straight to Gangnam (practice your horsey dance). We're also close to the river and you can even borrow a bike to go for a casual meander along the mighty Han and visit the World Cup (football) Stadium Park which isn't far away. It's very easy and cheap to get around Seoul. We even have a convenience store about 50 metres away from us (living up to its name).

Nothing springs to mind. Just, of course, be considerate of other guests and enjoy your time in a fun little corner of the world.

Règlement intérieur

No particular house rules other than have as much fun as you possibly can (without disturbing fellow guests!). All good - there's no curfew or anything: Hongdae's not the place for that kind of silliness. Just try to get to know people and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I'm from Australia and I like hanging out, watching movies or sport and sometimes having a quiet beer or two.
