Our beautiful home is situated in the heart of the Amsterdam Museum quarter, on a quiet canal and a 2 minute walk from the main canals, antique shops, and restaurants. The spacious garden is a haven of peace and tranquility in this wonderful city.
We are offering a wonderfully light and spacious self contained loft, on the second floor of our recently renovated beautiful home in the heart of Amsterdam.
The loft is separated from the rest of the house by a pair of glass doors and offers wonderful views of the Rijks Museum and of our gorgeous garden at the back. The house was built in 1876 and still has many original features including the decorative front door (see photo). The house benefits from the peace and quiet of the secluded garden, filled with trees, plants, flowers and bird song (see photos). The rest of the house is a private residence with two Art studios. The garden is accessible for guests during the day only and we expect guests to be respectful of the neighbours (keeping voices and music levels down). However, one very important fact to note, is that to reach the loft you will need to climb two flights of typically steep "Amsterdam" stairs (see photos)* The loft has two double bedrooms, a sofa(bed), a kitchen, a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate WC. Each bedroom also has its own basin, so you can always brush your teeth without having to wait for the bathroom! The beds are new and a very generous size: 180x200cm and very comfortable. The garden bedroom, with a direct view of the garden, has a desk beside the window and a large wardrobe. The front bedroom, with a restricted view of the canal in front of the house, has an antique French commode with glass shelves and a separate rack for hanging clothes. Although the loft can easily manage a larger number of guests, we have restricted the number of guests to two. The bathroom has a separate walk-in shower, a basin and a full size bath. The WC is separate and located next to the bathroom.
Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the loft only, and are welcome to use the garden during daytime. Guests will share the (steep) staircase with other residents, as well as the front door downstairs and the hallway. We usually keep the front door double locked, as we need to be practical about living in a city.

Amsterdam is called the 'Venice of the North' because of its picturesque canals which you can enjoy by cycling or walking along them, or just by sitting at a terrace by the water. Amsterdam is also a real treat for art-lovers, home to over 50 museums, many of them of famous across the globe. A few of the most popular are located together on Museumplein, such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum, a stone's throw away from our home. We offer our guests city maps and up to date listings of events and exhibitions.

I'm an artist and love living in this beautiful city full of water, light and so much Art! Luckily our home is just across from the Rijksmuseum, the van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk museum of contemporary art, where there is a large collection of my work. Welcome to Amsterdam!
