Description

Enjoy the beach right next to this well run family home stay. Great for small groups.

Price is for the huge bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom. Ravi can arrange an extra bed if required. There's another big (!) double room with private bathroom available as well, check primary page for reviews.

Ravi’s, with two huge rooms, is a really comfy home stay, especially if you travel in small groups. Its main room has three double beds while the other room is a huge double with its own living room. Each room has a private bathroom, while the living room and the kitchen are shared. Clean, simple, nice. In the garden you’ll see lots of baby crabs trying to hide in their seashells.

Ravi’s a happy chap and who wouldn’t be, living so close to the beach. He lives in a separate part of the house with wife and two children. Ravi works as a tour guide, so he can tell you all about the area and take you on trips if you wish. His wife made us sweet tea when we visited, and she’s the one who takes care of the house and cooks for guests if they want. Even the kids, five and three years old, were cheerfully ‘helping out’ with everything. A feel good kind of place.

The South Sri Lankan villages Kahawa, Rathgama and Ambalangoda have the best of both worlds: great beaches of their own and proximity to the busier beach hub of Hikkaduwa. This region is known for its relaxed beach culture, busy in high season, but unspoilt by mass tourism, and there's even a good wave to catch here and there. A good place to spend that week of lazy seaside slumber.

Ravi's is right next to the sea, so close you can hear the waves crash. It's close to the Old Dutch road, and a quick jump in a tuk tuk brings you to Hikkaduwa, Marks Museum, the nearby turtle farms or the starting point of the Maadu River tours.

We had a great stay at Ravi! The room with Fan was clean. We liked the terrace and the garden. Food was good and much for normal prices. Our son liked to play with the kids of Ravis sister. The tours with Ravis brother were very interesting. We recommend this beautiful place for families and People that like it calm. Thank you to Ravi and his Family!

Ravi and his family are very kind people! Thank you for your smiles, stories and hospitality! The place is simply perfect, surrounded by little "jungle" (coconut, banana trees) and the ocean. All you hear before the sleep and in the morning are ocean waves, birds and nature. The room is spacious and clean. Don't be surprised of little visitors tho (lizards, ants ant other little creatures). The beach near the house is almost private. There are many corals so you have to be careful. If you want more sandy beach and more blue ocean it's just couple of kilometers away and it's almost all yours. If you will miss crowded beaches, night life, restaurants, shopping or busy city life - Hikkaduwa is just 7 km away. We spent 6 nights at Ravi's place and we enjoyed every single moment of it and would definitely recommend this place. You really get a lot fort the price you pay. Best of luck!

Profil utilisateur de Neverbeen

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.

We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.

As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.

In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.

The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
