With its 5 star rating, LuxLax is very luxurious and spacious (120m2). LuxLax offers with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms comfort to 6 persons. 2 private parking lots are available.
The apartment is fully equipped with all the facilities you can imagine, including wifi, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. For small children extra facilities are available. Please ask.
The ski gondola is a short 5 minutes drive away, or alternatively utilize the free ski shuttle bus. The gondola brings you directly to the heart of the Aletsch Ski Arena or the walking and hiking area. The Aletsch glacier is accessible by foot. In winter the 13-kilometer long toboggan/ski route brings you right to the front door of the house. The road to Luxlax is always kept free of snow for easy access. The Swiss red train stops within a short walking distance to the house which gives you the opportunity to explore the Alps in a different way.

You will have access to the whole apartment of 120 m2 and the large balcony facing south. In the basement two additional rooms are available offering ski storage and washing and drying facilities. Both rooms are shared with the neighbours of the the house but is absolutely safe to use.

You will be welcomed by our host who will explain to you the house. A practical guide of the house and it's neighborhood will be send you on beforehand.

Due to the location, climate and rock formations the area offers a large variety of wonderful flora. The landscape around Binntal is scattered with patches of wild Edelweiss. Succelent can be found at the Südrampe (Southramp) and Obergoms that turns golden yellow in the fall.
Within the Unesco world heritage Aletsch Arena, there is abundant wild life to be found such as: deer, mountain goat, Alpine Ibex and marmots.
The south facing Aletsch Ski Arena offers guaranteed snow from early December until Easter. In summer the Aletsch glacier is accessible by foot. Just take the gondola and walk down to the glacier and enjoy!

LuxLax is easily accessible by public transport or car. The train station is only 200 m away from our home. Since the roads through the Alps connecting north and south are closed in wintertime two ( train) tunnels are available. Just put your car on the train and enjoy a 20 min rest while the train is bringing you to the sunny southern part of the Alps.

Since LuxLax is built as a family house our neighbors are mostly local Swiss people. They appreciate if our guests behave accordingly. They are very open to talks and eager to supply you with local information.
Tourist tax is not included in the price since it depends on number of guest and age (CHF 2,50 for adults and CHF 1,25 for children per night) and should be paid by Swiss law. As a service to our guests this tax can be paid to our host. In return you will receive a guest card which gives reductions on several attractions.

As a common habit in Switzerland people take their shoes off when entering their house. We are asking our guests to do the same and offer suitable place to store their ski shoes in the ski room and walking boots at indicated places.

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Luxlax. The apartment is nice, spacious, clean and was what we expected from the description. Instructions were clear and the house host was very helpful. We even got extra gears for our kids which was very appreciated. The complimentary wine and goodies added a really nice touch, thank you very much Louk! We would strongly recommend Luxlax!

We had a nice time. The apartment was clean and we had everything we needed. The description of the object might be a bit exaggerated but not too bad. A few things worth noticing: 1: On arrival we were asked to pay occupancy tax (approx 8% extra in our case), which was not mentioned in the description of the object (which it should according to AirBnB). 2: During our stay one of the guests spilled some candle wax, about the size of a palm, on the dinner table. I told Louk about what happened and that I would take responsibility for the incident. Louk claimed that he got a quote from the local carpenter firm to fix the table for 500 CHF, about $520 (!), which he invoiced me over AirBnB. When I asked about a copy for the quote to show to my insurance company to which he replied that it had already been fixed and that it "only" costed 100 CHF ($105). I payed the 100CHF and asked to get a receipt from the carpenter(for my insurance company). Louk sent a MS Word document with the neighbor's name on it (no organization number, tax number etc) as an receipt, which my insurance company refused to take as proof of any reparation. A sad end to an otherwise nice trip.

We just lauched out LuxLax at Airbnb and have to get familiar with how it works. Christoffer is right about the payment of the occupancy tax. By Swiss law tourists have to pay this tax to the tourist office. As a service to our quests we collect the tax and transfer it to the tourist office. As far as I know Airbnb doesn’t offer the facility to calculate the tax which depends on the number of guests and age and add this up to the rent sum. We will mention the obligation to pay this tax in our description as of now. We care about our guest and apartment and offer guests a clean apartment which meets the high standard, as described by the 5 stars, as given by the official Swiss tourist organisation (STV). This also means we only want to offer our guests high quality furniture. At departure our dining table showed damage due to an incident caused by Christoffer and we wanted to restore the table in its original state as fast as possible. To offer him a quick and adequate solution I have asked a local carpenter for help. He gave me a first quote of CHF 500 for disassembling, transport, sanding and finishing, which I passed to Christoffer. At the same day the carpenter had another closer look at the table and advised a much cheaper solution which could be carried out by our local caretaker. The next day she carried this out successfully. The local cleaner charged me CHF 100. I sent the invoice to Christoffer which he immediately paid without any complaints nor any remarks about the bill. We feel very sorry to receive this review from Christoffer for doing our utmost to restore the table he damaged against the lowest costs and at very short notice.

Every time our guests have enjoyed their stay at LuxLax and it's environment it gives me a big smile. For me, I enjoy the 4 seasons and the peacefulness, mountains, nature and culture of this part of the Alps. Aletsch Arena offers you a wide variety of outdoor activities.
