This lovely little cottage nestled alongside the water was more than we expected. The gracious host checked us in then left us alone. A campfire is available upon request. There were more than enough activities within an hour to keep us as busy as we chose to be. Don't miss this hidden treasure.

We loved our stay at Peter's cottage. It was quiet, comfortable, clean, and cosy -- perfect for a couple (and a dog). Each morning and evening, we walked our dog to Birch Point State Park (the beach is about a half mile from the cottage, down a dirt road) and sat on the rocks, watched the lobster boats, and waded in the tidal pools. At the cottage, even on hot days the trees out front screen the sun without blocking views of Ballyhac Cove, which drains and refills completely twice a day. We enjoyed grilling, drinking coffee, and eating clams on the deck (Jess's, a great fish market, is just a few miles away) and lounging inside reading. Rockland is close enough for a meal or a drink, and there are some great hikes in the area (Beech Hill, Ragged Mountain, Bald Mountain, and the Camden Hills), all of them about a half hour drive away. Peter's house is next door, and he was a gracious and kind host. He had recently installed a fire pit close to the cottage and invited us to join him there for dinner and a drink. He had a friend staying with him during the time we were there and she was also a great neighbor.

I live on the coast of Maine, near Rockland where I am involved in numerous activities. I also spend time on Martha's Vineyard and Ellsworth, Maine where I own and maintain a large historic building. My passion is flying my plane, but when I'm not in the air or messing with my Beechcraft Bonanza, I enjoy taking in a good film, reading, cooking and hanging with my friends. I have a great property located right on the water where I enjoy watching birds and the wild life while I putter away on my place. I am well traveled, and enjoy sharing any helpful tips with other adventuresome types. I enjoy opening my home to airbnb guests and helping them with their stay in Maine, especially the Rockland area.
