Our apartment is one of ten in a Grade 2 listed house, set in a wooded valley just a mile from the sea.

We are on the edge of a holiday park and have the benefit of the use of all their facilities whilst retaining the privacy of a private residence. This is includes an indoor heated swimming pool from Easter to end of October.

Le logement

Manderley is a beautifully converted apartment in a Georgian property, we have wonderfully high ceilings and have taken time to decorate and furnish it in a way to highlight its light and airy features whilst also making the place feel modern and warm. It is heated by electric wall heaters throughout and has an added electric stove in the sitting room.

Living Area
We have a large squishy leather sofa, with a separate fabric armchair for those that prefer a firmer seat. We have Sky TV with the Living package, as well as an X Box 360 and DVD player both with a range of films and games. For a more old school take on technology we also have lots of books, board games and puzzles.

Dining Area
There is a separate dining table with four modern Eames style chairs in an easy to wipe down pink leather fabric, in addition we also have a highchair if one is needed.

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully fitted with an electric oven, microwave and fridge with icebox. We also have a milkshake maker and all the pots, pans, plates etc that you will need. Please check if you consider anything essential, we think we have it all covered though.

Bathroom
Hot water is provided from an immersion tank so we also have an electric shower for instant hot water if required. The tank takes about 20 minutes to heat up. In keeping with the age of the house the bathroom has a Victorian feel with handmade encaustic Morroccan floor tiles.

Master Bedroom
You will sleep like emperors in our pocket sprung kingsize bed with 13.5 tog duvet and 400tc sheets.

Twin Bedroom
We understand that this room may be used primarily by children but of course why shouldn't they also have a touch of luxury? With this in mind we have proper bedknob and bromsticks beds with 13.5 tog duvets and 400tc sheets. The bedroom faces north so no early morning sunshine to disturb anyone's sleep and we have also added blackout curtains.

Outside
You have an allocated parking space and your own front door. There is a small patio by your front door with a patio set for your sole use. We have also provided a picnic set and blanket, sand toys, as well as tennis racquets and balls to make the most of the outside.

Other
A cot, highchair, dogbed etc can all be set up before you arrive. We do not charge extra for electricity or water. All bedding and indoor towels are provided.

Your parking space is labelled A9 and is front of your living room. To get to the apartment, face the house and go around to the back of the property going left. At the back of the property you will see the ground floor entrance with the name Manderley on it. If you arrive in the dark there is a large grey light switch for the path, located above the patio doors, near your parking space.

We live nearby so you can always phone us if you need us for and we'll come straight over.

Autres remarques

We are also part of a renovated Grade II house, sounds from neighbours may be heard. We are also on the edge of a holiday park and again sounds may be heard. We don't consider the noise intrusive but this is not an isolated cottage. There is no mobile phone reception in the apartment, The closest signal is back by the main road.

Have fun and leave the place as you found it. The apartment is part of a shared house, please respect your neighbour as regards evening noise.

Dogs.
As dog owners ourselves we are very dog-friendly but after one or two difficult bookings where respect hasn't been shown for the property & the comfort of other guests we feel the need to just mention a few things. We hope you don't mind and understand.

In order to keep our lovely apartment in its current state we ask the following;
Please don't let your dogs on furnishings or in sleeping areas
Please do not leave your dog alone in the apartment at any time
Please don't put your dog in the bath
Please don't feed your dog in bed
Please keep your dog on a lead at all times in the park (Not applicable to Over Sea guests)
Please always pick up after your dog.
Please ensure your dog's vet treatments are up to date.
And please do not bring more dogs than the number that you have booked.

We provide dog beds, dog towels, water bowl, spare poo bags, a spare lead in case of emergencies and a dog rug. There are also dog biscuits and fresh water on arrival.

We want your best friend to feel as welcome as you are and we appreciate your understanding.

Elizabeth's apartment was a great base for our short Cornish getaway. The communication with her prior to our stay was very prompt and she was happy to sort the cot and highchair for our daughter. The blackout curtain on the children's bedroom certainly helped our little one to sleep. The Cornish cream tea and bottle of wine were the perfect welcome. The location was great for us and we even made use of the onsite pool and restaurant - which does takeaway (good to note for other tired new parents!) I cannot fault the apartment, well kept and clean, lovely sheets and towels. It was a pleasure to stay here and we would definitely recommend it!

Internally the apartment is beautifully designed and very well equipped. Beds were lovely and comfy and the extras such as DVDs, Xbox, tennis racquets were well received by my children! We enjoyed the parks pool, play areas and had lovely meal in the cedars. Everyone in the park was really friendly. Elizabeth was a great host - helpful before our stay and checked that we were ok during our stay. The scones and wine was a really (well received!) nice touch.

Great apartment, with everything thought out by the hosts including welcome scones, local information and suggestions and an emergency hamper (earplugs came in useful due to building work nearby). Clean and cosy and great it's dog friendly to!

Brilliant little getaway - perfect position for exploring this part of Cornwall. A real treat to have swimming pool and soft play area onsite. And a real treat havig wine and cream tea for when we arrived. A perfect little spot!

This is a great space for a family, it is onsite at a small holiday park which gives the great facilities of swimming pool, playpark and tennis courts. The apartment is really well equipped with everything you need, and the location is lovely and quiet. However it is a lovely walk through the Pentewan woods to a great restaurant called Kingswood, and also to Pentewan village with a couple of cafes and a pub as well as a lovely sandy beach. All in all, much effort is made by the hosts to make your stay enjoyable from a book full of useful info, to the tennis racquets and games provided. Apartment is really comfortable and well appointed.
