We do not live on the Island ourselves but have an absolute gem of a housekeeper who will liaise closely with you to ensure you enjoy your stay.
The central heating/water is set to come on twice a day and the heating is controlled by a thermostat which is situated in the hallway. Should the weather be exceptionally inclement and you need additional heating for short periods please contact our housekeeper for advise on changing the settings.
As with all old houses our plumbing is not equipped to cope with anything other than loo paper, there are bins provided for your use.
Elgin House is a family holiday home and we would expect others to treat it as they would their own home.
A tea tray is provided on arrival for a welcome cuppa, and we are able to provide a welcome hamper, at an additional fee, by prior arrangement.
We do supply liquid soap, loo roll and basic cleaning materials.
We operate a very strict NO SMOKING POLICY inside the house; please respect this as we have a family member with a chronic lung disease.
You are welcome the use the open fire, but we ask that the fire guard is used at all times and the fire is banked up or dampened down before retiring at night. Ashes should be disposed off using the metal bucket provided.
The refuse collection arrangements can only be described as confusing, there is a card at the property and our housekeeper would be happy to advise.
There is very little crime in Seaview but it is better to be safe than sorry so we would ask that you lock the door when you go out.
