Enjoy the comfort of a unique self-contained apartment, attached to our home and working studios. We look forward to making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
The apartment is attached to our house but is very secluded and quiet, as we built on a large 1.5 acre section. It borders on farmland but is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Methven.
It consists of a central living room, with a compact full kitchen. A large sliding door opens out to a private east-facing deck that catches the early morning sun. A short hallway leads to a private outside entrance by the carpark, with a bedroom off each side. One room has a queen bed and the other room has two king singles. Beyond the kitchen around the corner are separate toilet and bathroom areas. The bathroom has a large tiled walk in shower and generous vanity with plenty of cupboard space and a large heated towel rail. The toilet room also has a sink. The whole area has under floor heating which gives a beautiful, cosy ambience in winter.
breakfast supplies: breads, cereals, fresh fruit, butter, jam, honey, marmite, milk, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

Bill Irwin is a full-time professional photographer of landscapes and people. His work finds its way on to walls around the world and various publications. See beautiful images of the Methven area and find out more about his work on his website.
Cherie Irwin is an artist. She is in her studio painting or making ceramic beads and jewellery most days, and has previously worked with stained glass, sculpture and silver jewellery. Some of her current work will be hanging in the gallery. Her website (URL HIDDEN) has much of her work, past and present, on display.
We hope you enjoy your stay. Please put your rubbish/recycling in the bins on the deck.
In the winter, when the underfloor heat in on, please do not adjust the thermostat. It takes a day or two to fully react, we have it set at a comfortable average. There is an extra electric heater and electric blankets if it feels extra cold. Alternatively, if it is a warmer day, feel free to open windows.
We don't do any housekeeping etc for 2-4 day stays, for 5-7 we come in on the middle day and remove the rubbish/recycling and leave fresh towels and check breakfast supplies. For 10-14 day stays, we do a complete clean and new linens on the middle day.
The breakfast bread, crumpets and English muffins are in the freezer part of the fridge. Please let us know if you run out of any of the breakfast supplies. xx
I am an artist (mostly painting and ceramics) My husband Bill is now a rural commercial photographer, after having spent 20 years as a crop and sheep farmer. We are edging towards semi retirement and enjoying the chance to travel more. We enjoy sharing our home with others and using Air BandB and Home Exchange when we travel.
