This Victorian townhouse is in the ever popular family-oriented area of Queen’s Park.
This beautiful, period family home has many interesting features throughout. There is modern artwork on the walls and a fantastic collection of books stored in tall bookcases lining the walls. There is also the added bonus of a separate studio (with toilet and shower) at the back of the garden which contains a sofa bed – which converts to a double bed - perfect for those who need a quiet haven away from it all.
The stylish kitchen on the lower ground floor is a fine example of a family friendly home with its long, banquet style dining table in the centre. The table has a long bench running along one side and can seat up to 8 people. In addition there is a modern, American style double Fridge/Freezer, dishwasher, microwave and oven and hob – everything you need to create culinary feasts in the evenings!
A sofa rests at the far end of the room where people can relax before dinner but still keep the chef company! Full length glass sliding doors lead out to the huge back garden and the studio.
The living room is a very elegant and bright space with a fireplace. The décor is neutral but classic with a mix of modern and antique furniture. An Italian antique chandelier hangs from the ceiling above to add a touch of luxury and elegance.
There is a small dining area at the back of the living room with a round table and chairs for two people. The wooden floorboards add a very rustic feel and the Victorian tiled fireplace enhances this. The huge triple sash windows ensure that this space keeps the natural light streaming through.
Upstairs to the first floor you will discover the first of two single rooms. This bed can be converted to a double if needed and there is a separate W.C. for convenience.
The next bedroom is a great sized double room with a Victorian fireplace, polished wooden floors and space for a cot if needed.
The second single room is huge and could definitely fit an additional bed if requested (ask us about this at the time of booking so we can set this up for you). Another period fireplace and wide sash windows enhance the traditional elements of this home and the pretty day bed is the perfect space to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The family bathroom has a roll-top bath with shower attachment and vintage style W.C. and hand wash basin.
Up a further set of stairs there is another double room. This room is exquisite with beautifully hand painted floral designs covering the walls and matching upholstery. The room is light and airy and has a very ‘country house’ feel to it. There is a spare mattress under the bed if required for an additional guest.
The final double room is at the very top of the house and has a double bed, en-suite shower room and pretty balcony. The balcony has a wood surround and lots of plants making it feel like a small, exotic hideaway from the rest of the city. The en-suite has stylish white brick style tiles all over and a vintage look ‘rainfall’ shower head with additional shower attachment below.
The garden stretches out of the back of the house a considerable way and has a large patio area and a smaller lawn area at the back – this is where you’ll find the studio room, nestled among the roses and various fruit trees - apple, damson, pear and mulberry.
We can provide various temporary bed solutions to suit your needs, a temporary bed will be set up in the single room to accommodate an eleventh guest and the host has a spare mattress in the floral double room for a twelfth guest.\
