Échanges avec les voyageurs
We live next door to our gite and will meet you on arrival with keys and a warm welcome. Before you arrive you are welcome to contact us by email or telephone with any questions and then during your visit we are there when you need us. We have been told we strike a good balance of giving a good welcome yet never intruding on your holiday.
If travelling in winter and the snow season it is recommended that cars have snow tyres or guests come prepared with snow chains. The road past the chalet is snow-ploughed daily when necessary as access is needed for locals, tourists and postal delivery.
If pre/post bookings allow, short stay visitors are welcome to arrive earlier than 1600H or depart later than 10.00H. Please ask if this would be helpful for your stay and we will accommodate if possible.
We hope guests will treat the chalet as their home during their stay and leave it as found though a cleaning service can be provided if required. Electrics are charged extra all year apart from high season in the summer. The meter is read on arrival and departure and units used are charged and paid for before guests leave.
Well-behaved pets are very welcome i.e. no going on beds or lounge furniture. There are many kms of walks in the area and direct access to forest walks from the house.
There is a no smoking policy in the chalet.

Paul and I have lived permanently in Le Grand Valtin for 5 years though we bought our properties 10 years ago. Semi-retired after 35 very hectic years in the UK we love the tranquility of the Vosges mountains and all it offers. Most of our effort is put into making our chalet business work maintaining it to a high standard, welcoming and looking after our guests. My hobbies include cross-country skiing, cycling and walking with our Springer spaniel, Murphy. I am also passionate about my cooking as well as reading.
Paul enjoys cycling, sport, photography and growing our own vegetables. He continues to teach English on a voluntary basis. He and our friends rebuilt our own chalet and maintains our gite . We enjoy socializing with our friends French, Belgium and English.
