Jaina, Domingo, Gigante and Fivos -the horses and ponies of the property- are looking forward to meeting you!

Le logement

Enjoy an unforgettable experience in our unique holiday estate, which is located directly by the sea in a secluded area of Central Mainland Greece. You can not only relax at the private beach, but also come close to nature and animals, leaving all worries behind, during all seasons throughout the year. Ideal, both for Summer and Winter Holidays. Suitable for Agrotourism experiences and memories.

The offered space is found on the 1st floor of a traditional greek villa, with independent access situated in the central front of the estate, 100 meters from the sea. It is approximately 75 sq.meters with 2 bedrooms (one with a king size bed and the other with two separate beds, both built in the structure of the house). It has a balcony with a splendid and panoramic view of both the sea and the mountain, facing west, fully equipped with central heating and air-conditions.
The estate is comprised by other buildings belonging to the land owner’s family, scattered throughout the private area, with a variety of animals (chickens, rabbits, peacocks, ponies and dears), which makes it an ideal place for animal lovers and children. It is guarded by a small herd of dogs and a family that resides permanently in the estate, managing it.
The central building is surrounded by a bbq area with a traditional greek oven. The estate produces a variety of local traditional products, including its own wine, olive oil, olives, marmelades and chicken eggs, items that would be available to the guests, depending on the time of the visit.

The apartment has free internet access, Wi-Fi and a local TV network (no satellite connection).

Accès des voyageurs

The guests will have full and unlimited access to an area of 1 hectare (10.000 sq.meters) including the private beach and access to the area the animals are kept, in coordination with the superintendent of the estate.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Locally, the superintendent of the estate with his family, will be at your disposal 24 hours per day. The superintendent speaks, obviously, greek and only some basic english. On the other hand, the office managing the estate in Athens, can assist you and facilitate your holidays in Greece by helping you through a multi-language mode of fluent english, german and of course greek.

Autres remarques

One has to note, that the estate is suitable for guests who are feeling comfortable being close to animals, particularly for families with children, as there is plenty of safe and protected space for them to play around and for those guests who like relative seclusion and being away from the turmoil and fuzz of busy hotels and packed touristic popular resorts. All in all, it is a dream’s place for agro tourism holiday funs throughout the year.

This apartment is ideal for a family with 2-3 children or 4 adults. Arrangements could be made to accommodate 2 families with 2 children, in total.

Guests have the option to enjoy horse riding in the country side along the banks of Sperchios river or take horse riding lessons in the installations of Equestrian Club of Lamia, which is a city situated a half an hour drive north of the Country House. Reservations have to be made in advance of at least one week and the minimum number of persons are two. Transport can be arranged.

Thermopylae's hot springs

The baths of Thermopylae are located approximately 45km north of the Estate, along the highway, before the city of Lamia. The area is known for the battle of Thermopylae between the Greeks and Persians in 480 b.C. Next to the road is a statue of Leonidas and the sacred hill, where Leonidas, the king of Sparta died fighting together with his 300 prominent Spartan citizens taking together down and 700 Thespians, who had volunteered to stay with him until the end, in order to fight the Persians. In mythology, Hephaestus, at the request of the goddess Athena, created these sources, so that Hercules could wash his wounds and recover his forces after battling with his enemies.
The water temperature of the springs is 40oC all around the year and has therapeutic attributes for several diseases, due to its consistency of sulfur (i.e. treatment of rheumatic, gynecological diseases and peripheral nerves). That's why, when you first arrive in the area, near the springs, you have a strange smell from the odor of sulfur, which subsequently subside as you get used to it. The water is quite hot, so, it is an experience that you can fully enjoy only during winter. It's a unique experience for deep relaxation!!! The combination of hot water and the ingredients of sulfur don't allow one to stay inside the river more than 15-20 minutes. There are no facilities near the hot springs. Ιt's all in nature and it is definitely worth trying it!

We stayed for three nights in the villa with a group of four, including two children. When we arrived we met Ursula and also had e-mail and telephone contact with Dimitri, her husband. They were both so nice and friendly, the contact went all very smooth. The villa is just BEAUTIFUL, in "Greek" colours. Upon arrival Ursula have left us some fruit, eggs and other stuff, which was very nice. The pictures on the site give a excellent idea of what to expect. For me the best was having dinner outside and watching the beautiful sunset. The temperatures this time of the year was already very nice. Thermopylae (Leonidas) is half an hour away by car. Also Arkitsa and Kamena Vourla are obviously withing easy reach. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area. I can't imagine anyone who will regret that

After 3 wonderful but hectic days in Athens we wanted peace, quiet and beauty and that’s exactly what we got. Dimitri and Ursula welcomed us and showed us round their beautiful estate. The accommodation is excellent, really well equipped for all needs including families. Everything was there. We had fresh eggs, olive oil and wine from there throughout our stay. The estate manager is quiet but ultra-efficient, answering every query promptly and effectively. We loved the private beach, too cold to swim but paddling was wonderful, you do need jelly shoes though! Arkitsa has a long beach which we walked most days, a local shop but we trended to shop in Levanantes some 15-minute drive away. Delphi and Thermopylae are within easy reach; the exposition of the battle at Thermopylae is really worthwhile as is soaking in the hot springs. This Country House is very highly recommended.

This is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful olive grove with many ancient trees. We collected our daily oranges, mandarins and lemons from the garden. It is a hidden paradise 20' drive from hot springs of Kamena Vourla.

The host (Dimitris) was very responsive and even tried to hunt down an adapter for my computer. Overall, it is a great place stocked with items from the farm (wine, fruit, etc.).

My husband and I spent a very relaxing and revitalising few days at Dimitris and Ursula’s house in Arkitsa, Greece. The house is a beautiful Greek villa, akin to the Cycladic cube houses that are typically found on Greek islands. Surrounding the house is an olive grove and an assortment of smaller building scattered around the estate, including a little church and the superintendent’s home, about 200 meters away from the main building. The house has access to a private beach which is pretty secluded. During the time we spent at the house, we saw no other people using the beach or passing by. To say we had a great time at this house is a bit of an understatement. As days went by, we slipped into a pleasant routine: we napped under the pine trees by sea, we swam in the crystal clear waters, we roasted vegetables and lamb chops in a traditional wood oven, we ate under the sycamore in the garden, afternoon coffee in the balcony and we sipped the local red wine gazing at stars in the night. By the end of our stay, we felt completely recharged and totally in love with this simple way of life. We cherish the time we spent at Dimitri and Ursulla’s villa, and we cannot thank them and the superintendent enough for turning this short break in Greece into an unforgettable lifetime experience. We will be coming back for more next year!

Dimitri with his wife, gave us very warm welcome. We got a wine and a lot of vegetables, olive oil, even some chicken eggs, everything grown and made locally, which is awesome! Neighborhood is very quite, there are multiple apricot trees around, and one great mulberry tree. Seacost is a little bit wild - aqua-shoes(swimming shoes) are definitely recommended. House had all modern kitchen supplies, including dishwasher, coffe maker, toaster, and others, everything is clean and looks brand new. We enjoyed beautiful views to the sunset from the house balcony every evening. Also, there's amazing grill bearby the house, where you could cook or roast everything you want, with a large table nearby to take dinner.
